"Li Xueli, I've finally figured out the mental energy potion!"
"We agreed that we would notify you as soon as the research was completed. When are you coming to pick it up?"
When Xin Sui received this message from Mu Feifei, he was digging bamboo shoots with Xiao Ming and Jenny.
She named a bamboo shoot-like plant that grows in the sea and tastes similar to bamboo shoots.
There is a type of seafood also called sea bamboo shoots, which is the same thing commonly known as geoduck.
The meat is white and tender, with a sweet and delicious taste.
Xin Sui plans to make a double bamboo shoot seafood soup—sea bamboo shoots and geoduck clams—it's sure to taste amazing.
After reading the message, she realized that she had been with the merfolk for quite some time and it was time to leave.
After all, she didn't have much time left.
She replied to Mu Feifei: "Two days later."
Mu Feifei: "Okay, just come to my house then."
The address is attached below.
"I found this first, don't even think about taking it from me!"
"It's clearly me! Sister, Xiaoming is trying to steal my bamboo shoots again!"
In the blink of an eye, the two little ones started arguing again.
Xin Sui walked over, scooped out the sea asparagus with a shovel, and threw it into his net bag.
"Alright, I've already dug up the bamboo shoots. You can go look for them elsewhere."
Xiaoming and Jenny glared at each other, snorted, and ran off separately.
He continued to bend over, searching everywhere for bamboo shoots.
Xin Sui smiled and shook his head.
When the net was full, Xin Sui called to the two of them, "That's enough, this is enough to eat, let's go back."
The two little ones were still a bit reluctant to leave, but they obediently hopped over and took her hands, one on each side.
"Sister, let's come dig for bamboo shoots again next time."
"Xiao Li, let's not bring this stinky fish next time. She's so annoying, she's always getting in my way."
"You're the annoying one! I could have dug up so many more bamboo shoots if it weren't for you."
"Hmph, same to you."
They started arguing again as they were talking.
Xin Sui just smiled and remained silent, letting them argue as they pleased.
A black dragon burst through the water and arrived in front of Xin Sui and his companions at incredible speed.
On the dragon's head stood a tall and beautiful figure, none other than Xuan Tu.
He jumped down, landed in front of Xin Sui, and stretched out a hand to her.
"Xiao Guang, you've come to pick us up!"
Xiao Ming tried to leap onto Xuan Tu's lap, but Jenny pulled him away.
"You're so stupid! You have no sense at all. Brother Xuantu and Sister Xuantu are dating. Why do you always interfere between them?"
For once, Xiaoming didn't argue with her. Instead, he humbly asked her, "What does it mean to be in a relationship?"
Jenny: "It's just... after they start dating, they'll have a baby. Your baby will definitely be adorable, a million times cuter than yours!"
Xiao Ming seemed to be deep in thought.
He glanced back at the two people holding hands on the dragon's back, then leaned closer to Jenny and whispered something to her.
Xin Sui was quite surprised to see this.
Have these two ever been this harmonious and close?
Back in the Merfolk territory, Xin Sui busied herself in the house that Xuan Tu had set up.
The seawater inside the building has been drained, so there's no difference between staying inside and staying on the ground.
Otherwise, she really wouldn't be able to cook in the sea.
"Xuan Tu, kill this fish and remove the bones from it."
"good."
"Xiaoming and Jenny, you two are in charge of peeling the bamboo shoots. Make sure to peel off all the outer skin, understand?"
"Got it!" they both said in unison.
All three of them were very happy to be bossed around by her.
Several hours later, a sumptuous seafood feast was finally ready.
A rich aroma wafted out of the house and carried far.
The merfolk swam over, drawn by the smell of seafood, and circled outside the house, tears of emotion streaming from their lips.
Huang Ying, the chieftain of the merfolk, who is also Jenny's mother, swam up behind a group of merfolk and said with an air of nobility and majesty:
"What are you all doing here? Don't you have anything better to do? What if you disturb our guests?"
"Chieftain, it smells so good inside! No wonder little Jenny keeps wanting to run ashore; it turns out human food tastes this good!"
"Swoosh! Oh my god, I can't take it anymore! I'm going to catch a fish to satisfy my craving!"
"I wish I could have a bite, it smells so good."
"Chief, please ask that guest if he can sell us some food? I can trade my scales for it!"
"I have scales too, I want to get them too!"
Huang Ying: "..."
"You'd even trade away your scales just for a bite to eat?!"
"What a bunch of good-for-nothings! They've utterly disgraced my Merfolk clan!"
"Get back to training, everyone. I'm going to test you tonight. If anyone fails, don't blame me for throwing him/her into the restricted area."
"But chieftain, it smells so good, it must be delicious."
"Hmph, it's just a little food. You can hunt and eat any of the strange beasts in the sea. What's so special about it?"
After driving away a group of clansmen, Huang Ying's expression immediately changed.
It swam happily into the house, its face beaming, and asked, "Is dinner ready?"
She eagerly took the plate of food from Xin Sui's hand, took a deep breath of its aroma, and reluctantly placed it on the table.
Xin Sui: "Sure, it'll be ready soon. I was just about to have Jenny invite you over."
Huang Ying: "We...?"
Xin Sui: "Yes, I cooked a lot of dishes, thinking of inviting you over for a meal to thank you for taking care of me during this time, and also to say goodbye."
