When Xuan Tu greeted her after they went downstairs, Xin Sui did not avoid him, but walked straight up to him.
Can I borrow your phone?
Xuan Tu handed her the phone without hesitation.
Xin Sui took it and clicked on the photo album in front of him.
The album contains many intimate photos of Xuan Tu and his wife, as well as family photos of the three of them.
The moment Xin Sui saw An An's mother, it felt as if she had been struck a heavy blow to the heart.
They look so alike! Even their expressions are exactly the same.
If you didn't know better, you'd think they were twins.
But the woman in the photo was clearly more refined than her, with flawless skin.
If she is the original photo, then the woman in the photo is the heavily edited one.
So, Xuan Tu deliberately approached her, treating her as a substitute for his wife?
He did those things to her without her permission!
He's committing a crime!
Xin Sui returned the phone to Xuan Tu, "Do you love your wife?"
Xuan Tu looked at her and said, "I love her more than life itself."
Xin Sui smiled.
The laughter was sarcastic.
How could he have the nerve to say such a thing in front of a stand-in like her?
Xin Sui tried her best to control the urge to cry, quickly said "The previous agreement is over," and left without looking back.
An'an chased after her, shouting at the top of her lungs, "Mommy, Mommy..."
Xin Sui was heartbroken and tears blurred her vision, but she forced herself not to turn around.
She is not her mother, and she will never be her mother!
Xin Sui focused on filming all day, trying her best to banish the images of Xuan Tu and An An from her mind.
It suddenly rained in the afternoon and continued until evening.
Director Sun then moved a scene set on a rainy night to the beginning of the filming.
After the shoot, Xin Sui was soaked to the bone, so Xiao Le quickly came over with an umbrella and draped a blanket over her.
"Sister Sui Sui, quickly drink this cup of brown sugar ginger tea. I ordered it especially for you."
"Honestly, this rain couldn't have come at the worst possible time. Your period is due in the next couple of days. If you get caught in the rain and chilled, you'll feel even worse when your period comes."
Xin Sui held the warm ginger tea and drank it sip by sip.
"Oh, Sister Sui Sui, drink faster so you can change your wet clothes after you finish."
Xin Sui shook her head: "Let's change when we get back to the hotel. We'll take a shower when we get back anyway, and it's too much trouble to change now and then take it off again."
Xiao Le was taken aback: "Back to the hotel? Sister Sui Sui, aren't you going to Mr. Xuan's place today?"
Xin Sui asked calmly, "Why would I go to his place?"
Xiao Le immediately realized something was wrong and cautiously glanced at her expression.
Did Sister Sui Sui and Mr. Xuan have a fight?
She didn't dare ask any more questions.
"It's quite a walk back to the hotel, why don't you change here?"
Xin Sui sat in the chair without moving.
"My health isn't that bad. In this hot weather, getting caught in the rain won't cause any problems."
Xiao Le couldn't persuade her otherwise, so she had no choice but to go along with it.
The two shared an umbrella and walked outside.
Xin Sui subconsciously looked towards the spot where Xuan Tu had parked his car, only to find it completely empty.
When she realized the disappointment welling up inside her, she gave a self-deprecating twitch of her lips.
Is she still expecting him to come and pick her up?
If he really comes, does she still want to get into his car?
As those intimate photos or family portraits flashed before her eyes, a sharp, piercing pain shot through her heart.
Xin Sui, when did you become so irrational? You've actually been driven to such despair by a man you've only known for less than a month?
Besides, he committed a crime against you!
You should sue him!
Upon arriving at the parking spot, Xiao Le first held up the umbrella for Xin Sui to get into the car, then went to the driver's seat herself.
As soon as she opened the car door, she suddenly felt a sharp pain in the back of her neck, and then everything went black before her eyes, and she lost consciousness.
Xiao Le collapsed, and a hooded man appeared behind her, holding a syringe in his hand.
He pulled the needle out of Xiao Le's neck, pushed Xiao Le toward his companion—a man in a suit—and climbed into the driver's seat.
Xin Sui was looking at her phone when she sensed something was wrong. She turned around, her heart skipped a beat, and she immediately attacked the hooded man.
The hooded man remained seated. "Xin Sui, I advise you to stay put, or your little assistant might lose his life."
Xin Sui's slashing hand towards him suddenly stopped.
Just then, a loud slam of a door slamming shut came from the back seat.
A man in a suit sat down, took out a switchblade, and pointed it at Xiao Le's neck.
Xiao Le's head drooped, as if he had lost consciousness.
Xin Sui had a gut feeling that these two people were after her.
She could subdue the hooded man and escape from the car in a short time, but that would put Xiao Le in danger.
After a moment's thought, Xin Sui decided to hold back for now.
The hooded man locked the doors and windows, then took out handcuffs he had prepared beforehand and cuffed Xin Sui's hands.
Xin Sui, mindful of Xiao Le, did not resist.
The hooded man patted her face lightly. "That's more like it."
They then took out an eye mask and put it on her so she couldn't see the car's path.
Xin Sui silently counted the time, paying attention to the direction the car was traveling.
About twenty minutes later, the car stopped.
The hooded man opened the car door, got out, moved to Xin Sui's side, tore off her blindfold, and pulled her down.
Xin Sui staggered off the car and found himself in an abandoned factory.
The cement road surface was broken and overgrown with weeds. After it rained, it became full of potholes, and water splashed high when you stepped on it.
