As the group was wondering, Madam Bai said, "I guess this child wanted to help us with some work, but she was afraid we would worry about her, so she secretly followed us up the mountain."
Hearing this, everyone felt that there was some truth to it.
The aunt standing nearby joked, "Xu Xian, since that's the case, why don't you go home and cook something nice for your wife today? You came up the mountain so early to help out, and you didn't even tell us. You're really thoughtful."
Upon hearing this, both Bai and Xu Xian smiled and replied, "That's for sure."
After Ning Huan went down the mountain, she kept thinking about who was plotting with Niu Dadan to frame her.
After Ning Huan finished dinner that evening, she prepared to go out. She said to Zhou Jing'an, "I have to go out for a while. The medicine is still simmering in the pot. I'll ask my older sister to come and feed you the medicine later."
Zhou Jing'an asked in confusion, "What are you going out to do now?"
Ning Huan chuckled faintly, "I'm going to watch a good show."
Ke Ruxiu overheard the time Ning Huan and Niu Dadan had agreed upon, so she went to the abandoned house in the village early in the morning.
When she arrived, Ning Huan and Niu Dadan had not yet arrived.
So he went into the cabin first, and then quietly hid behind a pillar to see what the two of them were going to do.
Ke Ruxiu's behavior today puzzled the Xu family. Xu's father asked, "Why is my daughter-in-law acting so strangely today? She seems listless all day. I spoke to her this afternoon, but she didn't seem to listen attentively. She left before we even finished eating."
Xu Xian replied, "I guess it's because the weather is nice today, so they went out for some fresh air."
Madam Bai chuckled and said, "You silly boy, always siding with your wife. Don't you know how to say that? Why are you getting any fresh air this late at night?"
He then comforted Xu's father, saying, "Alright, if the child wants to go out for a walk, let him go. Consider it a chance to get some fresh air."
Meanwhile, when Zhou Yan heard Niu Dadan say that he was going to have a secret rendezvous with Ning Huan that night, she asked in surprise, "Really?"
Niu Dadan said smugly, "Of course it's true, Yan Niang. Don't you know who I am? Ning Huan is already completely infatuated with me. She has to listen to whatever I say."

On her way back, Zhou Yan was overjoyed at the thought that she was about to kick Ning Huan out of the house.
As soon as he returned to the Zhou family home, he shouted loudly, "Father, Mother! Something big has happened in the village! Let's go and see!"
