Chapter Four: Little Four Caught a Cold

Ning Huan picked up the broken pieces from the ground, thinking that Zhou Jing'an had been shocked like this by her stun gun.

Feeling a little guilty, I turned and walked out, saying, "I'll get you another glass of water."

As Zhou Jing'an watched Ning Huan's retreating figure, he recalled that at the moment he made his move, it was clear that something was protecting Ning Huan.

He was suddenly bounced back by a strange force, and his whole body felt like it was being pricked with needles.

Could it be that this woman possesses some kind of witchcraft?

Regardless, he couldn't easily harm Ning Huan until he discovered what was causing her trouble.

Ning Huan turned around and went out. She originally wanted to boil water for Zhou Jing'an, but she found that Xiao Sibao was lying alone in the thatched hut. At this moment, the three little ones were in the front yard and would not stop her from going to treat Xiao Sibao.

But as soon as she stepped into the thatched hut in the backyard, Xiao Sibao was so frightened that he curled up.

Ning Huan quickly said, "Don't be afraid, I'm here to help you get treatment."

Xiao Sibao looked at the woman in front of her, not believing that she could be so kind. She was so frightened that she wanted to scream, but everything went black and she fainted.

Ning Huan frowned and hurried forward to check on the unconscious Xiao Sibao. She immediately noticed that Xiao Sibao's body was burning hot.

Her face was flushed red, and her lips were chapped.

Ning Huan quickly retrieved a bowl of spiritual spring water from her consciousness space and fed it to Xiao Sibao.

Si Bao caught a cold, and the child's fever is so high, the situation is quite serious.

Because Ning Huan grew up in a family of doctors, and her grandfather was a master of traditional Chinese medicine, she learned a lot of medical knowledge from her grandfather's side since childhood.

The spiritual spring water can dispel the cold in her body to some extent and relieve her high fever. After taking another dose of medicine, she should be almost fully recovered.

After drinking the spiritual spring water, Xiao Sibao's face, which had been tightly furrowed due to illness, actually relaxed.

Ning Huan took Xiao Bao's pulse and found that Xiao Si Bao had caught a cold.

She took out some herbs from her consciousness space, thinking of brewing medicine for Xiao Sibao and making a pot of nourishing medicinal porridge for her.

Thinking of the medicinal porridge, Ning Huan's stomach growled at that moment.

As darkness fell, she was getting hungry after a long day.

Thinking of the three little ones outside and Zhou Jing'an lying in bed, they must be hungry too.

She picked some of the vegetables she had grown from her consciousness space.

The original owner's memories told her that there were a few eggs in the front yard, so she thought of making a stir-fried vegetable dish, and then using the eggs to make a tomato and egg stir-fry.

So he got up and went to the yard to get a few eggs.

When the three little ones saw Ning Huan come over to take the eggs, they thought she was doing it all by herself, just like before.

The clever little boy quickly hugged the egg to his chest: "Bad woman, don't take the egg!"

Xiao Sanbao, fearing Ning Huan would hit them, quickly said, "These eggs are for Dad and Fourth Sister, please don't eat them..."

Da Bao kept a close eye on Ning Huan, fearing that she might harm him and his brothers.

Ning Huan explained helplessly, "I didn't intend to eat them myself; I was going to use the eggs to cook dishes for you."

Xiao Erbao didn't believe Ning Huan's words: "I don't believe you at all. You can't cook at all. All you can do is make dark, unappetizing things. Don't try to trick me out of the eggs!"

Ning Huan was quite helpless. The original owner of this body really couldn't cook. In the first few days after being kicked out of the Zhou family, the original owner did try to cook some food, but either the rice was burnt black or the vegetables looked like black coal.

The food was inedible, but the original owner felt it would be a waste to throw it away, so she made the four children eat it all.

The four little ones forced themselves to finish their food, but then their stomachs ached so badly they were rolling around in pain. From that day on, they never dared to eat anything made by that bad woman again.

Seeing that the food she had cooked for several days was still dark and inedible, the original owner simply stopped cooking altogether.

Ning Huan looked at her little Erbao, who was tightly clutching the egg and wouldn't let go, and nothing she said could change his mind.

Left with no other choice, she could only imitate the original owner's mannerisms and say fiercely, "Give me the eggs now, or I'll beat your little brat's bottom until it's bruised and battered."

As he spoke, he rolled up his sleeves.

Although Xiao Erbao was scared, he still didn't give the eggs to Ning Huan.

Da Bao rushed up from behind and blocked Er Bao behind him: "Don't hit Er Bao, hit me instead."

The third child also came over and hugged the eldest child, saying, "Don't hit the eldest and second eldest brothers, hit me instead..."

Ning Huan looked at the three little bundles of joy in front of her and said helplessly, "I won't hit you. I just want to use these eggs for you to cook. I promise my cooking will be edible, or I'll make you pay for the eggs tomorrow."

Looking at Da Bao and Xiao San Bao blocking his way, Er Bao hesitated.

He couldn't really anger the bad woman over a few eggs. Looking at the bad woman's expression, Xiao Erbao hesitated before taking out the eggs.

After taking the eggs, Ning Huan said, "I really did cook. You can come and see the kitchen."

Upon hearing this, the three little ones ran to the kitchen with some skepticism and took a look, only to find that they could indeed smell the aroma of food.

Da Bao and Xiao Er Bao looked at each other, then ran towards Zhou Jing'an's house.

"Father, that wicked woman actually cooked in the kitchen!"

"And this time the food even smelled of rice, unlike before when it was always smelly and bitter!"

The three little ones' words surprised Zhou Jing'an; Ning Huan, this woman, actually went to the kitchen to cook.

Just as he was wondering, Ning Huan brought the water to Zhou Jing'an's room.

Then she continued, "I've cooked a meal. You and the three little dumplings can eat together."

Ning Huan quickly set the table, leaving some food in front of her, thinking that if Xiao Sibao woke up, he could eat some food to fill his stomach before drinking the medicinal porridge.

The three little ones stared intently at the rice bowl piled high with food, then at Ning Huan.

Ning Huan quickly explained, "I'm saving this bowl of food for Xiao Sibao. I'll feed it to her later."

Just as Zhou Jing'an was about to coldly ask Ning Huan what she was up to this time, Xiao Sanbao burst into tears.

"Is it because Xiao Sibao is about to die and this is the last meal you'll ever make for her, that's why it tastes so good?"

Hearing what Xiao Sanbao said, Xiao Erbao also had a wicked idea and said, "It must be because you bad woman, you've spent all the money and have no money to treat Fourth Sister's illness, so you're pretending to bring her food now!"

Da Bao stood silently to the side, clenching his fists tightly without saying a word.

Hearing Erbao's words, Zhou Jing'an, lying in bed, was even more furious. This vicious woman truly had no pity whatsoever for her own child!

Ning Huan looked at the three little babies with red, tear-filled eyes, and the two big babies and Zhou Jing'an with dark faces. Everyone in the room was staring at her intently, as if they were about to devour her alive.

Ning Huan shook her head helplessly: "Xiao Sibao just caught a cold. I just made her some medicine. She won't die, so don't cry."
