Chapter Seventy-Six: Not a Good Thing

Ning Huan was quite surprised to hear that Da Bao actually trusted her.

However, she didn't have time to explain further to Da Bao, so she took paper and pen and went to Zhou Jing'an's room.

When Zhou Jing'an saw Ning Huan come in, he asked, "How is Tu Sheng doing?"

Ning Huan replied, "He was poisoned by violet violet. I gave him an antidote and then expelled some of the toxins from his body. He is out of immediate danger."

Zhou Jing'an was surprised that Ning Huan's medical skills were so amazing that she could even save people who were poisoned by the fungal purple poison.

Ning Huan paused for a moment and then said, "I actually came back to write a prescription for Tusheng. Tomorrow, Second Grandfather can take this prescription to town to get the medicine..."

Zhou Jing'an looked at the pen and paper in her hand and nodded.

Ning Huan said awkwardly, "Could you please write down a prescription for me? There are some words I... don't know how to write."

Zhou Jing'an was quite surprised to see Ning Huan discussing things with him in such a humble manner. In recent days, he had witnessed Ning Huan's actions, from teaching the four little ones to learning medical skills, and he felt that she must be a very capable person.

But now Ning Huan is telling him that he can't write, and he can hardly believe it.

But then I thought, if she really could write, she wouldn't have come all this way to see me.

He nodded and took the paper and pen Ning Huan handed him: "You tell me what to write."

Although Zhou Jing'an's health had improved, he still couldn't keep writing for too long. Ning Huan had only read half of the prescription when Zhou Jing'an was already panting heavily.

His hand holding the pen trembled slightly, and he had to use his other hand to hold it steady.

Ning Huan asked with some concern, "Can you still continue writing? Otherwise, let's take a break, or I can ask someone else to do it for you."

The thought of Ning Huan asking others for help made Zhou Jing'an inexplicably angry. He said, "No need, I can still manage. Please continue."

Seeing Zhou Jing'an's insistence, Ning Huan said nothing more.

Fortunately, there were only a few medicinal herbs left. After Zhou Jing'an finished writing, she quickly poured a glass of water, added some Ling Shu juice to it, and handed it to Zhou Jing'an.

"Drink some water and rest well. I'll get some more medicine for your second grandfather."

When Ning Huan arrived at her second grandfather's house with the medicinal herbs she had chosen, she found that no one was there.

She was anxious to find someone to ask where her second grandfather's family had gone, and she ran into Yang Shi taking Yang Xiaoshu home.

Ning Huan stepped forward and asked, "Sister-in-law, do you know where Second Grandfather and Tu Sheng went?"

Seeing the medicinal herbs in Ning Huan's hand, Yang sighed and said comfortingly, "When Second Grandfather saw that Tu Sheng had woken up, the village chief originally advised Second Grandfather to wait for you to deliver the prescription, but there were always a few troublemakers who insisted that they couldn't trust you."

"They urged my second grandfather to take Tusheng to the town clinic to find a doctor. My second grandfather was worried about Tusheng, so he listened to those people and took Tusheng to town."

Ning Huan wasn't surprised to hear this.

After all, she didn't have a good reputation among the villagers, so it was normal for them not to believe her.

It's just a pity that Zhou Jing'an painstakingly wrote out the prescription.

Since her second grandfather wasn't home, Ning Huan followed Yang Shi home.

At this moment, Yang Xiaoshu said to Ning Huan, "Auntie, my mother said that you cured my illness, and I haven't had a chance to thank you yet."

Hearing Yang Xiaoshu's words, she was stunned for a moment. This child was the first person to thank her after she came into this world.

She gently patted Yang Xiaoshu's head: "It's alright, your aunt just happens to know a little bit of medicine."

Yang, smiling, said, "Sister, don't be so modest. Xiaoshu should be thanking you. I used to think you weren't good to your four little ones and didn't take care of the family. That's why I never liked you..."

“But recently, I’ve noticed that you take good care of the four little ones and are also very attentive to things at home. You’re even better at some of the housework than I am.”

But then Yang said somewhat embarrassedly, "Actually, I used to think you were disrespectful to your parents-in-law and your husband's family. But recently I've realized that it's not your fault."

"Your mother-in-law and second sister are really no good people!"

Hearing Yang's words, Ning Huan smiled and said, "I did wrong before and made a lot of mistakes. I wasn't good enough to the four little ones, which is why they are not close to me. I bumped my head a few days ago, but I unexpectedly understood a lot of things."

"Fortunately, it's not too late now."

Madam Yang nodded and then said, "Sister, you might not like to hear this, but I think it's a good thing you bumped your head. It's made you clear-headed all of a sudden!"

Ning Huan smiled awkwardly, then nodded in agreement with Yang Shi's words.

The three of them quickly arrived home. After saying goodbye to Yang, Ning Huan remembered that she had left some braised venison in her consciousness space, so she took the meat out of her space and delivered it to Yang.

At this time of year, let alone venison, even meat is hard to come by.

Upon seeing the venison Ning Huan brought, Yang's mouth almost stretched to her ears: "Sister, you're too kind. These days, it's so difficult for us to even have a piece of meat, and you still bring it to us."

Ning Huan said, "Sister-in-law, please accept it. As the saying goes, a close neighbor is worse than a distant relative. As neighbors, it's only right that we look out for each other. You helped me out of a predicament before, so it's only right that I give you a piece of meat."

He then insisted on handing the braised meat to Yang and turned to leave.

Ning Huan's hand was almost healed, so she specially cooked several more dishes to express her gratitude to Pang Shi for working so hard these past few days taking care of the four little ones and Zhou Jing'an.

She took a few tomatoes from her consciousness space and stewed them together with the potatoes and meat she had at home.

Ning Huan also cooked two stir-fried dishes, emphasizing a balance of meat and vegetables, and made two green vegetable dishes as well.

In addition, I made a dessert dish.

When so many delicious dishes were brought to the table, the four little ones were already drooling and looking at Ning Huan expectantly.

The little boy was incredibly hungry: "Mom, why did you make so much delicious food?"

Ning Huan said with a smile, "Grandma and Uncle came to our house, and I haven't been able to cook a good meal to entertain them yet. Besides, you little ones were frightened, so of course I have to cook something nice to comfort you."

Upon hearing this, the four little ones rushed forward and hugged Ning Huan, saying, "Thank you, Mother!"

"Mommy is so amazing! She made so many delicious dishes!"

When Pang and Ning Liang arrived, they were quite surprised to find that so many dishes were made by Ning Huan.

Pang asked, "Huanhuan, did you make all these dishes?"
