Chapter 206 Didn't Sleep Well

It was one thing for Zhou Jing'an to ignore her, but Ning Huan and the four little ones were chatting and laughing together, which made her even angrier.

Only then did Yao realize that it was fortunate she hadn't let Zhou Jing'an and Ning Huan's family live with her, otherwise she would have been angry all day.

She got up angrily and headed for the door, thinking that Zhou Jing'an or Ning Huan would ask her some questions, but they didn't even lift their eyelids. So Yao had no choice but to go back to the backyard to rest with a long face.

As she walked, she told herself that she absolutely could not have any disagreements with Zhou Jing'an and Ning Huan during this period of time. She had to endure it, she absolutely had to endure it.

During dinner, Yao ate one small wonton after another, as if she hadn't eaten in centuries. While eating, she said, "It's not that I'm being long-winded, but look how sumptuous this meal is. Your parents haven't been able to eat like this for so many days at home. Don't you children know how to be filial?"

"How can you bear to see your parents eating coarse rice and chaff while you eat rice, wheat flour, and meat every day? I really don't know how you can eat it, or what kind of mood you're in?"

Not content with lecturing, she stretched out her finger and pointed it back and forth in front of the four little ones. Spittle flew everywhere, landing on the food, which was truly disgusting.

Finally, Ning Huan couldn't bear it any longer and took her bowl and four little dumplings to the kitchen to eat. Madam Yao was shocked that Ning Huan would do such a thing in front of her and angrily looked at Zhou Jing'an: "Son, did you see that? Did you see what that woman looked like?"

"Is this your good wife? I only mentioned a few things, telling you to be filial to your parents. What did I do wrong? Why is she giving me this attitude?"

Zhou Jing'an looked at her coldly. Yao had only been there for a day, yet she had caused such a commotion in the house. Did she expect others to give her a kind look?

"If Mother doesn't like staying here, she can go home. No one at home will give her a hard time."

Upon hearing Zhou Jing'an's words, Yao's face darkened immediately. In the past, she would have certainly launched into a tirade, made a scene, and then run home. But now, remembering that she had come to help Zhou Jing'an and her mother grow closer, she could only suppress her anger.

She changed to a smiling face and said to Zhou Jing'an, "Mother won't leave. Mother has to stay at home to take care of you. Third son, don't worry, Mother will definitely take good care of you."

Ning Huan was eating in the kitchen with her four little ones. The little ones looked at Ning Huan with unhappy expressions and complained, "Mom, when can Grandma go back? We don't like her staying in our house."

“Grandma always makes us serve her, she’s clearly trying to make things difficult for us. We didn’t even get to learn to read with Daddy today.”

"She even cursed at my mother and spat on the food, making it impossible for us to eat properly."

"Mother, when is Grandma leaving...?"

Ning Huan patted their little heads: "Just bear with it a little longer, your grandma might be going home in a couple of days."

The Yao family has been making a scene these past few days, so Zhou Dashan's side is unlikely to let things rest. Liu Feng, that woman, won't let such a good opportunity pass by.

At most, their family will have to endure it for a few more days, and then Yao will discover that a big surprise awaits her at home.

However, Ning Huan was at a loss as to how to remind Yao Shi. Yao Shi didn't know about Zhou Dashan and Liu Feng's affair, and she couldn't very well go and arrest her.

That evening, Yao looked at the house in her backyard and insisted on switching rooms with Ning Huan: "You, as a daughter-in-law, live in a better house than your mother-in-law. Is that reasonable?"

She looked around Ning Huan's room and saw that it was cleaner and warmer than the one she lived in in the backyard. Of course, she had to switch with Ning Huan. How could she, an old woman, be expected to live in that dilapidated house?

Actually, the house in the backyard was about as spacious as the house Ning Huan lived in, and Ning Huan had been cleaning it all along. It was just that no one had been living there for the past two days, so it had gotten dusty. As for Yao Shi, she was unwilling to clean the house or light a fire, so she felt that the house in the backyard was cold and dirty.

Ning Huan didn't want to argue with Yao Shi. It was just a house; she could move there instead. She didn't want word to get out and people saying she was an unfilial daughter-in-law.

She went to the house in the backyard but didn't rush to start a fire. Instead, she went to her consciousness space. Today, she planned to make the Jade Lotus Dew and Jade Complexion Cream that she had previously agreed with Young Master Qi, and then rest directly in her consciousness space.

Yao Shi, who was staying in Ning Huan's room, hadn't made up her mind. She was thinking of coming to this little slut's room to see if there were any good things she hadn't seen or used before. Once she found them, she would take them all with her.

She searched for a long time but found nothing, and became quite angry. So many distinguished guests had visited this house before, and so many gifts had been given, yet they were all gone—no money, no treasures. Could it be that Ning Huan had used them all?

Yao really put these things in the wrong place. When Ning Huan was packing these things, she put some perishable foods into her consciousness space, and put the rest in the house in the backyard, under the bed and in the cabinet.

However, she didn't notice anything when she went to the house in the backyard. After searching for a long time, Yao was so tired that she sat on the bed panting heavily. Even if she didn't find it, she would sleep here tonight.

But Yao's snoring at night was like muffled thunder. Zhou Jing'an had just fallen asleep when he heard her snoring, but he couldn't wake her up.

Not to mention him, even the four little ones, who were sleeping far away in their own rooms, could faintly hear Yao's voice and couldn't fall asleep at all.

The next morning, Ning Huan came out of her consciousness space and saw four little dumplings and Zhou Jing'an with dark circles under their eyes, looking like they hadn't slept well.

She asked, somewhat puzzled, "What's wrong with you all? Didn't you sleep well?"

The four little ones looked at Ning Huan with pitiful expressions: "Mother..."

Seeing Ning Huan's confused look, Zhou Jing'an asked in confusion, "Didn't you hear it last night? Mom's snoring was deafening, and the kids and I didn't get a good night's sleep at all."

Ning Huan paused for a moment before realizing what was happening: "Ah, the house in the backyard seems to be a bit far away. I could only vaguely hear a little bit, but it's okay."

She was resting in her conscious space, so of course she didn't hear Yao's snoring.

The four little ones looked at Ning Huan with pitiful expressions: "Mommy, Grandma's snoring is so loud, we can't sleep well."

"I'm so sleepy but I can't fall asleep, Mom. I'm so tired."

"That's right, Grandma's snoring is really loud, it's still going on even when it's light."
