When Ning Huan arrived home, she was just in time to cook dinner for the four little ones. During dinner, Ning Huan told Zhou Jing'an about what happened at Zuiyanlou that day. However, she didn't mention cooperation; she only said she wanted to thank her.
Much later, Ning Huan realized that by agreeing to cooperate with Young Master Qi, she had actually helped herself.
The next day, after Ning Huan finished teaching the villagers, several people suddenly came to the door. They were either covering their heads or groaning. Some kind-hearted villagers quickly came over and asked, "What's wrong?"
One of the old women grumbled, "Miracle doctor, we've come to see a miracle doctor! Quickly, call a doctor for us!"
The villagers were somewhat bewildered; they had no idea where this miracle doctor had come from, or where to call a doctor for them.
Just as everyone was completely confused, a man next to them covered his head and groaned, saying, "There's a miracle doctor who's incredibly skilled at treating illnesses. I heard she's a female doctor who can even bring people back to life!"
Then everyone suddenly realized: "Oh my, isn't that Jing'an's wife?"
When Ning Huan came out after hearing the noise, the people at the door had already blocked it, and there were also many villagers watching the commotion.
"What exactly is going on? Why is everyone here looking for Jing'an's wife?"
"It seems they're all sick, so they've all come to see Jing'an's wife for a checkup."
As soon as Ning Huan came out, the patients immediately surrounded her: "Oh, miracle doctor! I feel unwell, please take a look and see if I have some kind of illness?"
"My dear daughter, this old woman has a terrible headache, what's wrong with me?"
"Me too, me too! I haven't been able to lift my leg lately. Could you please take a look and tell me what's wrong? I hope I won't be unable to walk again...?"
Ning Huan frowned. Although she didn't like having so many people gathered around her house, she didn't say much when she saw so many people who were feeling unwell. She quickly invited them into the house to see them one by one.
After seeing several patients, she realized that out of all these people, only two or three actually had health problems or felt unwell. The rest were just complaining of feeling unwell, but in reality, they had no problems at all.
After examining the patient, a man smiled and said to Ning Huan, "Thank you so much, Madam Doctor, for examining me. If you hadn't said there was nothing wrong with me, I wouldn't have believed you. I was really worried that something might be wrong with me."
Ning Huan couldn't help but complain in her heart: Always thinking that you're sick is actually a kind of illness.
Another old woman chimed in, "That's right! This female doctor is truly amazing at treating illnesses, and she doesn't even charge a penny! Oh my, you're practically a living bodhisattva reincarnated..."
Ning Huan forced herself to finish seeing the last patient and said impatiently to the group, "There's nothing wrong with them, but this isn't a clinic or pharmacy. If you're still worried, you'd better go to the clinic in town."
Although she knew what these people were after, Ning Huan still kindly reminded them, "If you're really feeling unwell, you should go to the clinic to see a doctor and get some medicine."
During lunch, Zhou Jing'an noticed Ning Huan's tired appearance and frowned, asking, "Was it tiring giving lectures to the villagers today?"
Ning Huan shook her head and recounted how a group of people had come to her door seeking medical treatment. Zhou Jing'an's face gradually turned cold: "If this happens again, just tell them to leave. Your family doesn't run a clinic, so why are they coming to you for treatment?"
She nodded and replied, "If this happens again, I won't take a look anymore. It's fine if it's a serious illness or an acute medical condition, but these people are perfectly healthy, yet they still insist that I take a look at them."
Actually, she didn't want to publicize her medical skills before because she was afraid of encountering a situation like this, but no matter how careful she was, it still got out in the end.
Ever since Ning Huan only taught the eldest son, Zhou Lan, to recognize medicinal herbs, the Zhou family has been in constant turmoil, with Zhou Yan making a ruckus every day. Madam Yao herself is also unhappy; why should the eldest son be allowed to earn money alone, without the rest of the family sharing the burden?
Madam Yao was filled with resentment. That little bitch Ning Huan had used some kind of seductive trick to completely alienate the third son from her. Thinking of this, Madam Yao was furious. After Zhou Jing'an's leg was healed, he still needed to return to town to study and take the imperial examinations to become a high-ranking official.
What if she becomes successful and then ignores her mother?
The more Yao thought about it, the more frightened she became. She thought to herself that Ning Huan had only taken care of Zhou Jing'an for a while before the two of them got together. It must be that the third son was soft-hearted and saw that little slut serving him, so he gave in to her every whim.
Suddenly, Yao had an idea. If she went to take care of Zhou Jing'an and moved him, then the mother and son would reconcile, and what would Ning Huan, that bitch, have to do with it?
Without further ado, Yao started packing her luggage. Zhou Dashan returned home absentmindedly and saw Yao packing. Confused, he asked, "What are you doing?"
Without turning her head, Yao packed her things: "I plan to stay with the third brother for a while. You should stay with the eldest brother and the others during this time."
Zhou Dashan paused for a moment, then asked, "What are you going to Lao San's for? Are you looking for trouble again?!"
Seeing that Zhou Dashan was about to lose his temper again, Yao quickly explained, "I wasn't going to cause trouble. I went to take care of the third son. The reason he's estranged from us is because that bitch Ning Huan spoke ill of us when she was taking care of him."
“I’m going to take care of the third child for a while now, and I don’t believe he won’t be close to me.”
Zhou Dashan seemed to want to say something, but in the end he held back. This time, surprisingly, he did not stop Yao and let her pack her bags and leave.
Perhaps because she was in a hurry to pack her luggage, or perhaps because she was so focused on the fact that she could regain her status as Zhou Jing'an's mother after reconciling with him, Yao Shi didn't notice the subtle expression on Zhou Dashan's face.
In the afternoon, the four little ones were learning to read with Zhou Jing'an in the house, while Ning Huan had just finished sewing winter clothes for them. She then planned to take some medicinal herbs from her consciousness space to make Jade Dew.
Hearing only Yao's shouting, she could only wait a while before taking it, and went out to see what Yao was up to this time.
“My son, your mother has come to take care of you personally. My poor son, your mother will definitely take good care of you and make you plump and healthy this time.”
As Yao Shi spoke, she went inside. Zhou Jing'an saw that she was still carrying luggage and frowned, asking, "Mother, what do you mean by this?"
Ning Huan walked in at this moment, and Yao Shi rolled her eyes at her in annoyance: "Your mother-in-law is here, don't you know to come and serve her?"
