Xiao Wu found it quite unusual that Si Yan explained the woman's medical skills to him in such a way. He had never heard the young master of the Si family evaluate someone in this way before.
He hesitated for a moment, then looked at Ning Huan with a warning in his eyes: "You'd better succeed. If you dare to play any tricks on me, watch out..."
Before he could finish speaking, Ning Huan turned and was about to leave.
“If you don’t trust me, I can refuse to treat your illness. It’s not like my life is in danger. You called me over in the middle of the night and didn’t even say a kind word. Why should I help you?” Ning Huan said with a frown.
They invited her over just when she was about to rest, but she's been troubling them so late, and they didn't even offer a word of thanks. They were still hoping she could heal their injuries.
When Xiao Wu saw Ning Huan's actions, he immediately felt that this woman was somewhat special. No one had ever dared to act like this in front of him before. He had seen a lot of the world by following his wife.
Many women either fawn over him or are terrified of him, but this woman in front of him is not afraid at all, and seems to completely disregard him.
He raised an eyebrow, his expression authoritative without being angry, and suddenly blocked the door to the private room: "Did I say you could leave? You can't just come and go as you please?"
Seeing the man's appearance, Ning Huan was now itching to fight. She did know some martial arts, and although the man in front of her looked like a martial arts master from a novel, she might not be able to beat him.
But this man's actions made it really hard for me not to take action.
Si Yan saw Ning Huan and Xiao Wu standing to the side, neither of them saying a word, their eyes fixed on each other, looking as if they were about to start fighting at any moment.
He was extremely anxious and quickly stepped forward to stand between the two of them, saying to Xiao Wu, "Now is not the time to be suspicious. I know this female doctor well, and I know her abilities. Quickly, let her take a look at that person!"
Then he quickly said to Ning Huan, "Madam Ning, don't be angry. He was just too worried about the person inside, which is why he acted so offensively."
"Just for my sake, don't take it to heart."
To everyone's surprise, Ning Huan looked up at Xiao Wu and said calmly, "As long as he bows and apologizes to me, I won't hold it against him."
Upon hearing Ning Huan's words, Xiao Wu immediately felt that this woman was far too presumptuous. He was about to rush forward to teach her a lesson, but Si Yan quickly stopped him.
"Xiao Wu, you've already offended her, so quickly apologize to Madam Ning."
Xiao Wu stood there coldly, not moving. Si Yan was so anxious that he wanted to apologize to Ning Huan on his behalf. He said sternly, "Hurry up, do you want your young master to die here?!"
These words immediately put Xiao Wu in an awkward position. He stared at Ning Huan for a moment, then lowered his head and said, "I have offended you greatly. Please don't hold it against me, Madam Physician."
Ning Huan wasn't petty. Seeing that Xiao Wu had apologized to her, she didn't say anything more and turned to go into the inner room. After all, the most important thing right now was the injured patient lying inside.
She walked over and saw the man lying on the bed. He had been shot in the waist with an arrow and was unconscious, panting heavily due to difficulty breathing.
The man's wound from the arrow wound was bleeding profusely, bright red blood seeping out continuously, with dried, dark brown blood nearby, and the stench of blood permeating the air. Ning Huan noticed the white powder around the wound; this was the medicinal powder Si Yan had just sprinkled on it to stop the bleeding.
But now it's clear that the powder is completely ineffective. The arrow must be pulled out immediately so the wound can be stitched up and the bleeding stopped. There can be no hesitation; given the current amount of bleeding, if it can't be stopped soon, the man will likely bleed to death.
If the arrow were to be removed, surgery would be necessary. The arrow had pierced the man's body; she would have to cut open the wound, forcefully pull out the arrow, and then stitch the wound up.
She frowned and said to Si Yan, "I need to perform surgery to remove the arrow from his body, and I need your help."
Si Yan nodded and replied, "Please just tell me what you need, Madam Ning, but..."
He paused, then lowered his voice and said, "This person's identity is somewhat special. I implore Madam Ning to do her utmost to treat him. I will certainly reward Madam Ning handsomely for his treatment."
Ning Huan nodded in agreement: "As a doctor, I will do my best to treat patients."
It's not because of the high consultation fees; she was simply trying her best to treat the patient. That's exactly it.
She said to the people inside, "I'm going to perform surgery next, so everyone except Dr. Si needs to leave."
One reason is that surgery shouldn't be performed with too many people around to interfere. Another reason is that Ning Huan needs to prepare the surgical supplies in a way that is not visible to others.
Xiao Wu shook his head. Unless he turned into a corpse, he would never leave his master's side for even half a step: "I won't go out. I'll just guard the door. I won't get in the way."
Seeing his insistence, Ning Huan didn't say anything more, but pointed at the man on the bed and warned, "When the surgery is going on, I hope you won't get in the way, or you could kill him at any time."
"If anything unexpected happens, don't blame me."
Xiao Wu listened to Ning Huan's words, his face full of displeasure, but he could only force himself to say, "Yes, I understand."
While Si Yan went outside to instruct the young man at Renjitang, Ning Huan took the opportunity to retrieve the instruments needed for the surgery from her consciousness space.
First, they disinfected the wound, then injected the man with antibiotics to prevent inflammation and ulceration, and after giving him anesthesia, they began to cut open the arrow wound with a knife.
Next, she had to remove the arrow, but she was worried that if she cut her hand, the subsequent surgery would not be possible. So Ning Huan asked Si Yan, "Manager Si, can you help me remove the arrow?"
Si Yan knew that the arrow had to be pulled out, but seeing the blood flowing continuously from the wound, he hesitated.
Seeing Si Yan's hesitation, Ning Huan said, "If you can't, don't force yourself. Even a slight distraction while pulling out the arrow could affect the injured person's condition."
Now that Si Yan can't pull out the arrow, Ning Huan turned her head and thought of Xiao Wu at the door.
She spoke to Xiao Wu, who was waiting at the door, and asked, "We need help removing the arrow from his body. Can you do that?"
Xiao Wu agreed without hesitation. After Ning Huan disinfected him, she let him into the inner room.
