Chapter Seventy-Nine: Bloodletting

Seeing Ning Huan pull out a knife, Ning Liang was somewhat surprised: "What are you going to do?"

She said calmly, "Bloodletting."

Upon hearing this, not only Ning Liang, but everyone around him became worried: "Did I hear that right? Is Jing An's wife going to bleed Tu Sheng dry?"

"Isn't this ridiculous? How can a living person survive if you bleed them dry?"

"I think Jing'an's wife's abilities are just bluffing. We should make her stop as soon as possible, otherwise what if she ruins Tusheng..."

"Don't talk nonsense! I think Jing'an's wife is very skilled in medicine. Bloodletting is also a treatment method!"

"What are you talking about? How about I try drawing your blood?"

"I'm not poisoned, why are you bleeding me out! Are you cursing me?!"

Grandpa Er, who was standing nearby, was also a little annoyed when he heard Ning Huan say that she was going to give Tusheng a hard time, but he didn't say anything.

He knew that Tusheng's condition was not good, and he would follow Ning Huan's wishes for whatever treatment she wanted, as long as it could save his precious grandson, let alone bloodletting.

Even if it costs him his life, he'll give it to him!

But Ning Huan turned around and handed the knife to Ning Liang, who frowned and asked, "What do you mean by this?"

Ning Huan: "What else could it mean? I'm performing acupuncture here, and I don't have a free hand to bleed Tu Sheng. You do it."

Ning Liang asked incredulously, "You want me to bleed this child?!"

Ning Huan glanced at him and then said, "What's the problem? Do you not know how to use a knife or how to bleed?"

Ning Liang pushed away the knife Ning Huan offered him: "I dare not, he's still a child, how can I bleed him!"

As she administered the acupuncture, she frowned and said, "You're a grown man, what are you afraid of? Besides, bleeding him isn't harming him, it's to save him!"

She then shoved the knife into Ning Liang's hand: "Make two cuts on each of this child's palms, not too deep, but not too shallow either. Hurry up!"

Hearing Ning Huan's firm and unquestionable voice, Ning Liang looked down at the small knife in his hand.

He gritted his teeth and then made two cuts on Tu Sheng's palms, and black blood slowly flowed out from the wounds Ning Liang had made.

Although Tu Sheng's body was continuously oozing black blood, he was also extremely anemic, and his face soon turned pale.

Even her lips were completely bloodless.

Just then, the boy who had just gone to brew the medicine came in with the medicine pot and said to Ning Huan, "Auntie, the medicine is ready. When are you going to give it to Tusheng?"

"Bring it up now and feed it to Tusheng!"

Just as the boy was about to step forward, the second grandfather took the bowl from him: "Let me do it. Tu is so sick now, this is all I can do for him as his grandfather."

Looking at Ning Huan's side, she deftly inserted the silver needles into Tu Sheng's body, then quickly pulled out the silver needles from another acupoint and inserted them into yet another.

As soon as a silver needle pierced Tu Sheng's head, he suddenly vomited a large amount of blood, and then he regained consciousness.

He looked at his grandfather who was feeding him medicine and called out, "Grandpa!"

Upon hearing the word "Grandpa," the second grandfather burst into tears.

Ning Huan breathed a sigh of relief and said to her second grandfather, "Fortunately, the child is out of danger. If you trust me, you don't need to go to town to see a doctor these next few days, and you don't need to get a prescription from the clinic. I have some herbs that I picked from my own body, so I'll give them to Tusheng to drink. I'll give Tusheng acupuncture every two days."

"After three acupuncture treatments, Tusheng should be fine."

As soon as Ning Huan finished speaking, her second grandfather was about to kneel down before her: "Jing An's wife, your second grandfather thanks you!"

She quickly helped her second grandfather up: "Second grandfather, what are you doing? Get up!"

The second grandfather said tremblingly, "Daughter, he is my only grandson, more important than my own life! You saved his life, which is the same as saving my own!"

Ning Huan said, "Second Grandfather, please don't say that. I was just doing my duty. Since I know some medical skills, I couldn't just stand by and watch Tu Sheng get into trouble in front of me."

Second Grandfather knew that Ning Huan was being modest; anyone with eyes could see how much effort she had put in.

Besides, this native was not related to her at all, and this group of people hadn't even treated her well during the day, so she could have simply ignored them.

But Ning Huan not only did her best to treat Tu Sheng, but even after she learned that no one trusted her and she went to see a doctor in town, she was not angry.

He said to Ning Huan with emotion, "Jing'an's wife, if you ever encounter any difficulties in the future, and you don't mind this old man, just come and find me."

Hearing this, everyone was amazed. This second grandfather was a highly respected elder in the village, and even the village chief sometimes had to consult him before making a decision.

What the second grandfather just said to Ning Huan means that Ning Huan will have the second grandfather as a protective umbrella in the village in the future.

Even so, no one was jealous of Ning Huan, after all, everyone had witnessed how she had saved Tu Sheng.

Ning Huan originally wanted to decline, but when she saw her second grandfather's red eyes, she knew that if she didn't agree, her second grandfather would definitely feel bad.

So she smiled and agreed, "Then thank you very much, Second Grandpa."

Then she carefully bandaged the wound on Tusheng's hand and gave the herbs she had brought to her second grandfather.

"I've packed all the herbs here. Have someone brew two doses of medicine for you each day, and that should be enough for seven days. The herbs here might not be enough, so I'll send you some more later."

Second Grandfather still wanted to thank me, but Ning Huan said, "Second Grandfather, you don't need to thank me anymore. I was just doing what I could, and I couldn't bear to see you, an old man, bury your young. If you thank me again, I really won't know what to do."

Hearing Ning Huan say this, the second grandfather said nothing more, only leaving the words, "Daughter, second grandfather thanks you."

On the way back, Ning Liang recalled the way the villagers looked at them earlier. Because his sister had saved Tu Sheng, their gazes towards him were filled with gratitude and respect.

Ning Liang suddenly realized he felt a little embarrassed about what he had done to Ning Huan these past two days. But he still wanted to praise Ning Huan: "Sister, you're amazing."

Hearing this, Ning Huan raised an eyebrow.

She never expected that her younger brother, who always looked down on her, would actually say that she was amazing.

Thinking of Ning Liang's disdainful attitude towards her these past few days, she ignored Ning Liang and walked straight towards home.

Ning Liang knew that Ning Huan was angry with him, so he quickly chased after her and said, "Sister, I know you're still angry with me. I was wrong before. I apologize..."

Ning Huan glanced at him sideways: "What did you do wrong?"
