Chapter Ninety-Three: They Were Actually Classmates

After Ning Huan finished eating, she cleaned the kitchen and was about to wash fruit for the four little ones. Just as she was retrieving the fruit she had prepared for them the night before from her consciousness space, she heard a commotion outside.

"My lady doctor, I've come especially to thank you with these gifts!"

As soon as Yu Chengren got off the carriage, he started shouting at the top of his lungs. Si Yan, who was standing next to him, quickly grabbed him and said, "Young Master Yu, didn't we agree that we shouldn't tell her that Madam Ning knows medicine at her house?"

Ever since his wife and son were both safe and sound thanks to Ning Huan's medical skills, Yu Chengren has been determined to thank this incredibly talented female doctor.

He would go to Renjitang all day long, insisting that Siyan take him to see the female doctor.

Si Yan couldn't resist Yu Chengren's persistent pleading, and besides, he really didn't have any other intentions; he simply wanted to thank Ning Huan.

So he brought Yu Chengren over, and along the way he repeatedly told Yu Chengren not to talk too much about the female doctor's medical skills at her house.

Yu Chengren found this strange: "Why can't I say it? I came here to thank the female doctor for saving my wife and child with her medical skills. How can I not mention it?"

Si Yan said in a serious tone, "Young Master Yu, we can talk about everything else, but you must promise me this one thing, otherwise I definitely won't take you to find her."

Seeing Si Yan become serious, Yu Chengren also changed his attitude from before, and muttered to himself, "If you don't want to mention it, then don't... But I came here to thank the female doctor. If I don't mention her medical skills, will people know why I came?"

Thinking of the excuse Ning Huan had given him that day, Si Yan said, "You can say you're grateful for the medicinal herbs she brought, and that the treatment is all thanks to Renjitang, and has nothing to do with her."

Hearing this, Yu Chengren was somewhat puzzled: "Manager Si, is there some difficulty involved?"

Si Yan said, "Ning Huan's family doesn't know much about her medical skills, so she only cooperates with our clinic to buy and sell medicinal herbs. That day, I saw that Young Master Yu's wife was really unwell, so I specially invited the female doctor from her home."

"If the young master comes to express his gratitude, it would only cause trouble for them, which would not be good."

Upon hearing this, Yu Chengren didn't ask any further questions. Since they had already said so, there was no harm in him not bringing it up.

However, as soon as he got off the carriage, Yu Chengren glanced at the house and frowned.

Why does this place feel so familiar to him?

Zhou Jing'an, who was lying in the house, frowned subconsciously when he heard the sound in the yard. The sound seemed so familiar to him.

Ning Huan was quite surprised to see Yu Chengren and Si Yan standing in the courtyard: "What brings you here?"

Si Yan looked at Yu Chengren beside him and said, "It's Young Master Yu. Because Madam Ning's medicine arrived in time, it saved the lives of his wife and child, so he came here specifically to thank Madam Ning."

Ning Huan replied, "Young Master Yu, you are too kind. I said at the clinic that day that I was just doing my duty."

Yu Chengren waved his hand: "No, Doctor Ning... If it weren't for Madam Ning, my wife and child would have died long ago. My attitude that day was also quite offensive, please don't take offense."

For someone of Yu Chengren's status to say such a thing was already quite unexpected for Ning Huan.

She waved her hand: "Of course not."

Then she said, "My home is rather simple, please don't mind, Young Master Yu. My husband is lying inside. However, he is injured and has difficulty walking, so he cannot move around."

As soon as Yu Chengren entered the room, he saw Zhou Jing'an lying on the bed and exclaimed in surprise, "It's you!"

Looking at Zhou Jing'an, he was also very surprised: "What are you doing here?"

Seeing their reactions, Ning Huan exchanged a glance with Si Yan, wanting to ask him what was going on. Si Yan shrugged, indicating he didn't know either.

Ning Huan understood from their conversation.

Yu Chengren and Zhou Jing'an were classmates at the same academy, but Yu Chengren had never had much contact with Zhou Jing'an, so he naturally didn't know where Zhou Jing'an lived.

Zhou Jing'an looked coldly at Yu Chengren and said, "What are you doing here? Don't tell me you can't finish the homework your teacher assigned you, and you want me to help you complete it?"

Yu Chengren waved his hand and said, "You've really misunderstood. I didn't come here to see you."

Zhou Jing'an sneered: "You didn't come here to see me, did you? You're here to see my wife, aren't you?"

Upon hearing this, Yu Chengren finally realized what was happening. He glanced at Ning Huan, then at Zhou Jing'an: "Is Ning your wife?"

Just as Zhou Jing'an was about to speak in an annoyed tone, Yu Chengren chuckled and said, "Brother Jing'an, you are so lucky! You have married such a capable wife!"

In the past, Yu Chengren would have said these words to ridicule Zhou Jing'an, but now he said them sincerely.

Zhou Jing'an said irritably, "What's wrong with you now!"

Yu Chengren wasn't annoyed at all, and simply said, "Brother Jing'an, you don't know, if it weren't for your wife being there that day, my wife and child would have died long ago! I'm so grateful to her, how could I be acting crazy!"

Zhou Jing'an recalled that Ning Huan had said she had rescued a woman who was giving birth at Renjitang, and it turned out that she was Yu Chengren's wife.

"I came here specifically to thank Lady Ning, but I never imagined she would be your wife. Brother Jing'an, don't you think this is a great blessing for you!"

Before Ning Huan and Zhou Jing'an could even greet him, Yu Chengren walked to the table, pulled out a chair, and sat down.

He continued, "Brother Jing'an, we only had a small disagreement that day, why are you still angry with me!"

It turns out that Yu Chengren couldn't finish his homework, so he wanted Zhou Jing'an, who had the best grades in the academy, to write some for him, and he would pay a considerable sum of money for each assignment.

Later, when the matter was exposed, the teacher took Yu Chengren's homework and went directly to the county magistrate to complain.

However, when the county magistrate saw the assignments Zhou Jing'an had written for Yu Chengren, he greatly admired Zhou Xing'an and believed that he would surely achieve great things in the future.

Of course, Yu Chengren inevitably got a scolding from his aunt and uncle, and he blamed everything on Zhou Jing'an.

It is said that he deliberately let the teacher discover his homework, and then deliberately let the county magistrate discover it.

She wanted to use him to express herself.

Zhou Jing'an, however, was proud and arrogant, and he could not tolerate being slandered like this by Yu Chengren.

They returned all of Yu Chengren's money and burned all of his schoolwork before they were satisfied.

Afterwards, Yu Chengren realized that he was in the wrong. He was the one who took the initiative to contact Zhou Jing'an, but in the end, he was the one who was blamed.
