Chapter 173: The Transaction
Upon entering, Yuan Siyin casually sat down at the table and poured herself a cup of tea to warm herself up.
The northern frontier is cold and dry. Even though this is the city closest to the Central Plains, the wind is like a dull knife, constantly scraping against the skin outside the cloth covering.
The girl closed the door, sat down beside her with a shy expression, and slowly raised her soft, boneless hand to her shoulder, her movements highly suggestive: "Young master..."
Despite her reluctance, Yuan Siyin had no choice but to play along and ask, "Can you sing any songs?" in order to get information out of her.
The girl was taken aback for a moment, then covered her red lips with her long sleeve and smiled sweetly, "This humble servant can not only sing, but also dance. Would you like to see, young master?"
"No rush, tell me your name first."
Yuan Siyin propped her head up with her hands, crossed her legs, and casually played with the porcelain cup in front of her. Her expression was languid. Some sparse and unclear light was cast through the carved wooden window, lightly sprinkling on her profile, making her face look more delicate, casual yet noble.
Such beauty is a rare sight in the world; anyone who sees it cannot help but be momentarily stunned.
"My name is Zhu Sha." Zhu Sha was momentarily stunned by her shimmering eyes, then her smile became even more alluring.
Yuan Siyin chuckled, flicked the purse from her waist with her fingertips, and then lightly tapped the table. "Alright, Zhusha, let's make a deal. If you tell me everything you know, this silver is yours."
Zhu Sha immediately lost her smile and sat down opposite her with some boredom: "I knew it, young master, you're not here for pleasure after all."
"They're just here to deliver money, so there's no need for Miss Zhu Sha to go to all that trouble. Isn't that better?"
Yuan Siyin looked around at the furnishings in the room, got up and walked to the window, her fingertips fiddling with the incredibly realistic red plum blossom branch, when Zhu Sha suddenly hugged her from behind. "If Zhu Sha doesn't want money, she only asks for a one-night stand with you, young master?"
Yuan Siyin broke free from her hand, turned around and pulled her into her arms. Her slender, fair fingers pinched her chin, and her slightly curved eyes held a hint of helplessness: "Miss Zhu Sha doesn't want to lose both her money and her love, does she?"
Hearing the female voice beside her, Zhu Sha took two steps back in alarm: "You...woman?"
"What I want to know is very simple. You just need to tell me where most of the medicine merchants from the northern frontier gather."
"You jest, young lady. Zhu Sha is nothing but a courtesan; how could she know so much?"
Zhu Sha angrily flung her handkerchief away, clearly harboring resentment for the teasing she had inflicted upon her arrival.
Yuan Siyin was not surprised at all. She tossed down another bulging purse and said with her red lips, "Add more money."
There's nothing a bag of silver can't solve; if there is, then two bags will do.
Zhu Sha's expression softened slightly. She snatched the two purses into her bosom, and then, without hesitation, extended another finger.
"You have quite an appetite. Adding more wouldn't be out of the question, but there are conditions."
"What?"
"Introduce me to the most powerful leader among the pharmaceutical companies, and tell him there's a big deal coming up, how about that?"
As she spoke, she shook her purse, her smile devoid of warmth. "This shouldn't be too difficult for Miss Zhu Sha, right?"
Zhu Sha gritted her teeth and agreed. She went out and called a maid who ran errands. She gave her a few detailed instructions and then came back in. Her expression towards her was even more resentful.
Yuan Siyin touched her nose, not feeling that she had deceived the young girl in love in any way, and remained sitting calmly.
If you have a narrow vision, isn't making money the better option?
Why worry about men all the time? In the end, you can't rely on anyone. You might as well rely on yourself.
