Chapter 265: Not Necessarily Willing to Leave
When Yuan Siyin returned to the pavilion with Qi Xinxin by the arm, she saw Zhong Heng holding Si Yuzhu by the back of his hand, forcing her against a pillar, almost as if he had tied her up with a rope.
"Her little face is so chubby and delicate, I don't dare to use too much force..."
The two of them stopped talking abruptly.
Yuan Siyin paused, her face showing surprise: "Why are you here? And what are you doing here?"
Yu Shiyan glanced at the panicked Si Yuzhu, then looked away and took a leisurely sip of tea: "She wanted to poison me."
"Poisoning?"
Qi Xinxin was equally surprised: "But isn't she Si Yin's cousin?"
“When I arrived, I noticed she was acting suspiciously; this is the arsenic she had hidden in her sleeve.”
Yu Shiyan lowered his eyes, pushed the oil paper package forward, and said in a less than friendly tone: "You can know a person's face but not their heart. Don't be so trusting of everyone."
If he hadn't happened to witness it, perhaps...
Thinking of this, Yu Shiyan's eyes grew even colder, wishing he could throw this person into the wilderness to be fed to wolves.
Yuan Siyin was surprisingly calm. She told Zhong Heng to release Si Yuzhu first, and despite the others' attempts to dissuade her, she pulled her aside so the two could talk alone.
Caught red-handed for her first offense, Si Yuzhu lowered her head, her fingers nervously twisting the hem of her clothes: "I...I wanted to kill you, but..."
"You are not Si Yuzhu."
"Of course I am! I am Si Yuzhu!"
The woman's voice was soft and lacked confidence.
"It's not the original Si Yuzhu, right?"
Si Yuzhu's eyes widened in disbelief: "Could it be that you also..."
"It's enough that you know; there's no need to explain it so clearly."
When fellow villagers meet, their eyes well up with tears.
Yuan Siyin pursed her lips, and the next second the two of them immediately hugged each other and almost burst into tears.
"Sisters! Sisters! Thank goodness! Am I saved? Am I not going to die?!"
Yuan Siyin didn't cry, but Si Yuzhu really did.
"I've only been here a few days, and I'm already scared to death!"
You have no idea how anxious and worried I've been these past few days. The moment I remembered a plot point, I'd rush to the capital, terrified you'd ruin it all!
Yuan Siyin was both amused and exasperated, and could only pat her back gently: "It's alright, even if something happens, it shouldn't affect you."
At least she turned over a new leaf and reformed herself, and she's been putting on a good show in front of Yu Shiyan for so long.
Yu Shiyan and Qi Xinxin were far away from the two women, so they couldn't hear what they were doing, whispering and hugging each other. However, they were very wary of Si Yuzhu.
Using such a deadly poison as arsenic right off the bat is clearly an attempt to kill her. She's usually so clever and cunning, never able to outwit anyone, but now she seems to have been completely deceived.
"real?"
Si Yuzhu tremblingly squeezed her arm, looking almost completely exhausted: "That's great! Have you found a way to go back? I miss home."
Yuan Siyin's smile faded slightly, and after a long while she shook her head and said, "No, maybe we'll have to wait until the finale."
And even if there were a way back, she might not be willing to leave.
"I knew it."
Si Yuzhu sighed, as if she had already anticipated this outcome. She released her hand, took two steps back, and bowed to her: "I'm really sorry about what happened just now. If I had known it was someone else, I definitely wouldn't have done it."
"I understand. Of course, my own life is more important. If I were you, I would probably make the same choice."
Will it?
Si Yuzhu, still looking ashamed, bit her lip and asked anxiously.
"I think so," Yuan Siyin chuckled softly.
