Chapter 474: Special

Chapter 474: Special

[Currently replacing the CEIBS babies] "When? Let me see if I'm free."

"Anytime is fine, as long as you're available, Sister Siyin."

It's no trouble at all. If you think it's troublesome, you can just tell me.

As if afraid of being rejected outright, Yu Shimiao quickly added.

Yuan Siyin glanced at the calendar and started typing: "Today is the 6th... then let's make it Thursday. I don't have any plans for Thursday night, but do universities not allow you to leave campus at night?"

This meant she agreed. Yu Shimiao covered her mouth, trying hard not to laugh out loud: "It's okay, it's okay. Our counselor is very easy to talk to. I'll just ask him for leave."

No way, she climbed over the wall and got out.

The leave application process is too complicated; it's much faster to use a VPN.

After agreeing on a time and place to meet, Yuan Siyin continued working until her eyes started to feel a little sore. She looked up and realized it was already dark. When she checked the time, it was 7:30 p.m.

It's likely that Qi Xinxin quietly turned on the light for her when she got off work, but the sun hadn't set yet, and she was so engrossed in her work that she didn't notice.

She got up and stretched her limbs, then walked to the French windows and looked down. The lights were a dazzling display of red and green hues, making her dizzy and mesmerized.

Although she could have finished her work long ago, she insisted on reading it word by word until the sun set and the lights were dim.

This is what a normal life is for her.

As the bustling crowds receded, she was left alone, soberly alone.

Some things can be possessed, but not all the time; at least, she doesn't have them right now.

She sighed almost imperceptibly, quickly tidied up, turned off the lights, and left the company. She didn't go anywhere else; she went straight home.

I was planning to order some takeout to quickly fill my stomach, and I was even ready to pay when I unlocked the door with my fingerprint and saw that the lights in my house were on.

Yuan Siyin was somewhat surprised. She changed into slippers and tentatively called out, "Dad?"

Yuan Jin was dozing off on the sofa when he heard the noise at the door. He immediately got up, his voice still tinged with sleepiness: "You're back?"

Yuan Siyin hung up her bag and walked to his side. Looking at the newly added white hair at his temples, she couldn't help but feel a little sorry for him: "Why did you come over without saying a word? How long did you ride?"

"Not long, just over three hours. Knowing you probably haven't eaten properly again, I went to the nearby market to buy some groceries first."

As she spoke, Yuan Jin pointed to the cold dishes on the table, glanced at the clock on the wall, and said with a hint of helplessness, "It's already eight o'clock, and these dishes are so cold. I'll take them to heat them up."

Yuan Siyin didn't stop him, but followed closely behind his slightly hunched back like a little fledgling.

Noticing that her daughter was acting strangely, Yuan Jin put the food in the microwave, leaned on the table, turned around and looked at her: "What's wrong? Has something happened to you lately?"

Yuan Siyin smiled brightly, her eyes crinkling, and she hooked her arm around his neck, acting like they were best buddies: "What could possibly happen to me, Dad?"

Yuan Jin snorted and took out a bowl and chopsticks from the sterilizer: "I know you too well. What won't you tell me if I ask you?"

"I'm really fine," Yuan Siyin said sincerely.

"real?"

"Really, I guarantee it, I swear on my reputation of over twenty years."

Yuan Siyin confidently raised three fingers, but this reminded Yuan Jin of something else: "By the way, there's someone you can meet."
