Chapter Fifteen: Are you a dog?
They didn't see it, but Yu Shiyan, standing on the shore, could see it clearly.
She cried.
It was clearly a hairpin left to him by his mother, yet he hadn't even cried, but she was the one who started crying first.
Could it be that he feels guilty...?
No, that's impossible.
He knew her temperament all too well.
In the past, she would have loved to smile at him for the length of a cup of tea, and then use that smile to pierce his heart every time they met.
before……
She seemed completely different today, like a different person altogether.
A sudden dull pain shot through my fingertip.
Yuan Siyin was stunned for a moment, and touched around in disbelief.
The hairpin is slender, with a few not-so-round agate red beans hanging at the end.
"Found it!"
Yuan Siyin was overjoyed. She gripped the hairpin tightly, pushed aside the lotus flowers and leaves beside her legs, waded ashore, and handed the hairpin to Yu Shiyan: "Found it!"
Her words came to an abrupt end.
Because the hairpin was covered in mud, it was impossible to see any trace of its original exquisite craftsmanship.
She bit her lip, rubbed her hands and the hairpin on her body vigorously, then untied the whip binding Yu Shiyan and carefully handed the red bean hairpin to him.
"Don't let anyone else take this important thing again."
Yuan Siyin sniffed and whispered.
After saying that, she lowered her head and quickly left.
Yu Shiyan was stunned, looking at the hairpin in her hand, her heart filled with mixed feelings.
The palace maids and eunuchs on the road were so frightened by the sight of Yuan Siyin that they all ran away, fearing that this young lady might take her anger out on them if she was in a bad mood.
Yuan Siyin couldn't think of where to go in such a disheveled state, so she wandered around aimlessly, found a quiet and deserted corner, and curled up under a tree, looking utterly lost.
very nice.
She helped him find his mother's belongings.
But what her mother left her... can never be found again.
Tears welled up uncontrollably in my eyes instantly.
All the anxiety and grievances welled up at once, and it seemed that there was no other way but to cry, and only crying could release them.
"Oh, Miss Yuan, are you crying? That's so unlike you."
The newcomer whistled lightly, his armor gleaming silver in the sunlight.
"Si...Fang Ming?"
With tears blurring her vision, Yuan Siyin didn't recognize the spirited young man in front of her, yet she subconsciously murmured his name.
"Thank you for remembering my name, Miss. I am truly honored."
He smiled gently, knelt down on one knee, took out a handkerchief from his pocket, and gently wiped away her tears, his movements so practiced as if he had done it a thousand times before.
"I heard a lot about Miss when I returned, but now I see that they are all just baseless rumors."
Why are you back?
Yuan Siyin was so breathless from crying that her mind went blank and she couldn't react for a moment.
I feel like something's not right, but I can't quite put my finger on it.
...
Damn it!
Shouldn't Si Fangming have only returned from the frontier after the female lead appeared?!
Wow, I got thanked!
Si Fangming took off his cloak and draped it over her, not minding the mud on her hands. He reached out and pulled her up, saying, "This habit is something I just can't shake off. From childhood to adulthood, whenever I feel like crying, I run here to hide."
"I didn't..."
Yuan Siyin withdrew her hand somewhat embarrassedly.
Having gotten used to the male lead's type, I'm finding the second male lead's type a bit hard to handle right now.
"Why is there a bloody smell? Are you injured?"
Having been stationed on the frontier for a long time, Si Fangming naturally developed an extremely sensitive sense for the smell of blood in such a harsh environment.
As he spoke, as if to increase credibility, he even took a serious sniff.
Yuan Siyin: "..."
Are you a dog?
