Chapter Three: Patience

Chapter Three: Patience

Yuan Siyin moved with lightning speed and quickly found the shortcut from her memory—the artificial hill in the Imperial Garden.

Just walk through the artificial hill and up for a cup of tea's time to reach Jianzhang Palace.

Seeing that no one was around, she crouched down and slipped inside in the dark. Although the space was a bit narrow, it was still manageable for one person to walk through.

Just as she was walking quickly, she suddenly tripped over some unknown object, lost her balance and was about to fall forward. Fortunately, a pair of large hands reached out in time to catch her, pulled her into their arms, and cushioned her fall to the ground with their own bodies. Then, she groaned and fell to the ground.

"Excuse me, are you alright?"

Upon hearing the woman's voice, Yu Shiyan's eyes darkened instantly, and his jaw clenched tightly.

It's her!

Even if he were reduced to ashes, he would still recognize her voice.

Yuan Siyin hurriedly got up, took out a tinderbox from her sleeve, unscrewed the cap, and blew on it.

The flickering flames instantly illuminated the man's face.

She was momentarily stunned.

The man had a cool and handsome face, like the finest jade, shimmering with a crystal-clear luster in the candlelight. Beneath his slightly furrowed brows, his dark eyes were as deep as the unyielding night, captivating anyone who looked at him.

His features were sharp and distinct, as if they had been meticulously sculpted. His slightly worn blue robe fluttered in the breeze, and his black hair flew in the wind. His handsome face carried a hint of indifference, and his whole demeanor exuded an aura that kept people at a distance.

His slightly pale lips were pressed into a tight line, as if he was enduring something.

Realizing she had been somewhat out of line, Yuan Siyin looked away and, by the candlelight, saw that he was supporting himself on his left hand and hadn't moved, so she squatted down and asked, "Is your palm scratched? Let me see."

"What are you planning to do now?"

Yu Shiyan didn't buy it. With his back against the artificial hill, he straightened up warily and said, word by word.

again?

What the heck? Could it be that the original owner not only persecuted the male protagonist, but also other innocent NPCs?

Thinking of Xiao Quanzi, whose legs were trembling, Yuan Siyin fell silent.

It seems... not impossible.

"I'll just take a look, I won't do anything."

She spoke with genuine emotion and sincerity.

Although it sounds a bit strange, she swore that while she was attracted to beauty, she wouldn't take advantage of someone in distress.

The handsome man in front of her refused to submit, looking at her with the eyes of a small animal wary of a tiger.

"Stop talking nonsense! I told you to put your hand out, so put it out!"

"If you dodge again, believe me, I'll slap you!"

Yuan Siyin pulled out her golden silk whip and slammed it on the ground with an imposing air, attempting to intimidate him.

As it turns out, hehe, it's quite useful.

The beauty actually has a taste for this.

Unbeknownst to Yuan Siyin, a murderous intent was rising in the man's eyes, unseen by her.

That crazy woman! He'll kill her sooner or later!

Yuan Siyin grabbed his wrist and brought it closer to examine it, discovering that his palm was indeed scraped and was now slightly oozing blood.

She let go of his hand, turned back, and used a tinderbox to illuminate the ground, not forgetting to warn him, "If you dare to run away, see how I teach you a lesson."

The man ignored her and instead snorted coldly.

Yuan Siyin wasn't angry and continued bending down to look for something.

After all, the person was injured because of her, so her bad attitude is understandable.

Finally, she found what she was looking for in the grass not far away.

With smooth leaves, wavy edges, and occasional indistinct blunt teeth, and spike-like inflorescences emerging from the center of the plant in spring, summer, and autumn, it is undoubtedly plantain.

She crouched down, plucked a handful of tender green leaves, clapped her hands, stood up, and ran back.

Yu Shiyan didn't say anything, but just watched her busy herself with disgust in his eyes.
