Chapter 113: The Little Sparrow is So Easy to Foole
"What do you want?" Yuan Siyin asked without hesitation.
"Wooden comb, silver hairpin, jade bracelet, love knot."
Yu Shiyan lowered his head and gazed at her, his voice gentle and pleasant, with a hint of coaxing.
"I only need these, do you have them?"
Yuan Siyin retorted angrily, "Who do you think you are!"
After saying that, she ran inside, and a short while later she came running out again, carrying a box full of jewelry, which jingled all the way: "Take it!"
Yu Shiyan's beautiful eyes rippled with a slight smile, like the deepest lake water, silently gentle in the darkness.
"I haven't found the red string yet. Wait here, I'll think of something."
As she spoke, Yuan Siyin shoved the box into his hand, took out a small silver pair of scissors from her sleeve, and with a swift "snip," cut off a section of her black hair.
Before Yu Shiyan could even stop her, she sat down on the stone steps and began to weave a love knot against the threshold.
A gentle breeze blew by, and petals fluttered down from the gnarled branches leaning against the wall. The wind lifted the strands of hair at her temples, and her long, wing-like eyelashes trembled, like early butterflies in the chill of spring, indistinct yet unconsciously drawing one's gaze.
"alright."
Yuan Siyin shoved the love knot into his hand, then breathed warm air into her palm: "Is it done now?"
"Hmm." Yu Shiyan chuckled, adding, "These can't be given away."
"Mmm, mmm, mmm, no need to see me off."
Yuan Siyin gave a few perfunctory words, hoping that this person would hurry up and move his feet.
Everyone says that the New Year brings good fortune, but when this great deity stands here, good fortune is so frightened that it turns around and runs away.
Yu Shiyan naturally saw through her perfunctory attitude, but remembered her suffering in the cold, so he didn't say anything and let her go back.
When he returned to the carriage with the jewelry box in his arms, Zhong Heng hesitated before speaking, "Your Highness, this is not right."
Yu Shiyan gave him a nonchalant look: "Shut up."
After getting into the carriage, he seemed to remember something, and his jade-like fingers lifted the curtain: "Have you packed your bags?"
"..."
"say."
"All packed up," Zhong Heng replied diligently.
He had finally figured out the problem with the honey trap; it was clearly his master who had struck first.
Miss Yuan was somewhat naive; she was easily fooled by a few words and the token of their love.
Needless to say, the purse fell into the master's hands several months ago, and he probably still doesn't know it.
Zhong Heng inexplicably felt a pang of sympathy for Yuan Siyin.
The carriage began to move smoothly. Yu Shiyan snapped out of his reverie, placed the jewelry box on the wooden table, and looked it over with a smile on his lips.
Little tits are so easy to fool.
Thinking this way, his mood improved, and even the way Ruyi preened her feathers in the cage seemed pleasing to the eye.
——
When Yuan Siyin returned to the study to look for her father, she found that he was no longer there. Only Si Fangming was left, dusting the bookshelves all alone.
"Father is gone?"
"Yes, General, you have important business to attend to."
"Get lost, you're trying to fool me."
Yuan Siyin rolled her eyes, picked up the glazed porcelain bottle beside her, weighed it in her hand, and then put it back.
Forget it, this thing is ridiculously expensive; it can't withstand a fatal blow.
"I heard everything you just said. I'm going to the frontier."
Si Fangming paused, but did not turn around. "The frontier is cold and harsh."
"I want to go."
"The journey is long and the situation is not peaceful."
"I want to go."
Yuan Siyin became even more determined.
Knowing that Yuan Siyin was determined not to be persuaded, Si Fangming had no choice but to put down the feather duster and sigh slightly.
