Chapter 165: Shall we go horseback riding?
"Why did you decide to sit here? Aren't you cold?"
As he spoke, he reached out and tugged at the rope to check if it was sturdy.
The general was also a hypocrite; he said he didn't want her to come, but somehow he set up a swing.
"It's so sunny."
Yuan Siyin leaned her head against the rope, her long, bright eyes slightly narrowed, and her pleasant voice carried an indescribable languor: "But it is indeed colder at the border."
Si Fangming raised an eyebrow, his amber eyes sparkling in the sunlight, his smile as radiant as if he had returned to his childhood: "Want to go horseback riding?"
Yuan Siyin's eyes lit up, but she quickly shook her head and sat back down: "Never mind, you go do your thing."
She had been staying in the tent for the past few days, with nothing to do, and her father wouldn't let her go anywhere.
I shouldn't have gone with my father. I was hoping to sneak around and see if I could help in any way, but now I'm just wasting my life.
Besides, the border region is ultimately a place for stationing troops; it's already quite good that she was able to stay here.
A large shadow fell, blocking the slightly glaring light in front of us.
Si Fangming squatted down, tilting his head to observe the subtle changes in her expression with curiosity: "What's wrong today? Something's not right."
Yuan Siyin slapped him across the face: "Are you right this time?"
"Oh, right." He covered his face, looking resentful.
Yuan Siyin was amused by him, and immediately raised her hand as if to hit him: "Come on, I didn't even use my strength."
Taking advantage of the situation, Si Fangming grabbed her wrist, pulled her along, and ran away. When he turned back, a sly glint flashed in his eyes: "Let's go, let's ride horses!"
Yuan Siyin initially stumbled a couple of steps, but as she ran alongside him, her body suddenly felt lighter.
Si Fangming put his finger to his lips and whistled. Ta Xue neighed and galloped over. Yuan Siyin didn't need his help. She tossed her long hair, grabbed the reins, stepped on the stirrups, and mounted the horse. Her dashing figure left everyone speechless.
Ta Xue was also quite excited, kicking its hooves incessantly. As soon as Yuan Siyin's whip fell, it rushed out with a "whoosh".
Si Fangming also led a horse and followed from a distance, his face full of interest: "How about it, want to have a horsemanship and archery contest!"
Yuan Siyin smiled, turning sideways to catch the bow and arrow he tossed to her: "How do we compete?"
"How about we see who can catch their prey first?"
Yuan Siyin didn't speak, but the golden whip she was wielding had already given her the answer.
The two men rode forward, their horses neighing and kicking up clouds of dust.
The grassland stretches as far as the eye can see. Although it is only early spring, the withered grass begins to sprout green and grow wildly with the help of the spring breeze. The pale white wildflowers are interspersed among them, swaying gently in the wind, creating a charming scene.
Out of the corner of her eye, she spotted a wild rabbit perked up its ears alertly in the grass. Yuan Siyin pulled on the reins, deftly drew a bowstring, nocked an arrow, and released it. A flash of white light streaked past, carrying a sharp gust of wind as it shot directly at the brown rabbit.
At the critical moment, another arrow suddenly appeared, deflecting the arrow that Yuan Siyin had shot out. The rabbit was startled and disappeared in a few moments.
Yuan Siyin turned around and saw Si Fangming waving his bow in an extremely irritating manner: "Nobody got the better end of the deal. Looks like we need to find the next prey."
Before Yuan Siyin could utter a few curses, a group of soldiers dressed in white armor galloped in from afar. Each of them was tall and strong, with long swords at their waists and imposing expressions.
