Chapter 345: Keep Pretending
Zi Yuan had no choice but to nod in agreement: "Then Miss, please don't get wet in the rain."

Yuan Siyin grabbed the oil-paper umbrella and waved to her without turning her head.
Inside the Imperial Mausoleum Palace—
A slender figure knelt quietly before the stone steps, unmoved by the wind and rain.
Strings of raindrops fell down his smooth, well-defined jawline, landing lightly on his knees.
As soon as Yuan Siyin got off the carriage, the rain lashed her face. She wiped her face in a disheveled manner, opened her oil-paper umbrella, and walked into the cemetery.
Perhaps due to the heavy rain, the tomb keeper was nowhere to be seen at the entrance of the mausoleum. Fortunately, no one stopped her, and Yuan Siyin went directly into the palace to find Yu Shiyan.
Logically, only empresses can be buried with the emperor after their death, but Yu Shiyan's mother was different.
Despite strong opposition, the emperor insisted on burying Chu Huan in Jingling Mausoleum, rather than Feiyuan Mausoleum.
The empress's family made many troubles because of this, but the burial had already taken place, and no amount of trouble would change anything.
Yuan Siyin had never been to Jingling before. The huge mausoleum was empty and secluded. Apart from the lush trees, there seemed to be no other signs of life.
To avoid trouble, Yuan Siyin planned to search one place at a time, so that the tomb keeper would not come upon hearing the noise. However, as soon as she raised her eyes, she saw Yu Shiyan kneeling at the entrance of the tomb, completely soaked.
She was startled and quickly went over, took off her cloak and squatted down beside him: "Are you stupid? You don't even know to take shelter from this heavy rain. Even if you're paying respects to your mother, why do you have to kneel in the rain?"
As she spoke, she handed the umbrella to Yu Shiyan, indicating that he should hold it for now so she could put a cloak on him.
Yu Shiyan slowly looked at her, his voice carrying an unspoken chill: "Why are you here?"
"Zhong Heng sent me to take you back."
Yuan Siyin wasn't angry. She simply ignored Ziyuan's words, threw the umbrella aside, and sat up to put the cloak on him. Unexpectedly, Yu Shiyan suddenly grabbed her wrist, pulled her into his arms, and pressed her down. His voice was cold and even hostile as it fell on her ear: "When did you find out?"
Yuan Siyin was quite bewildered. The rain continued to fall, and soon she was soaked as well.
"What do you mean, when did you find out? What are you talking about?"
Yu Shiyan's Adam's apple bobbed as he tried his best to suppress his anger, but his constantly clenching fingers betrayed his true feelings: "Now that I know everything, are you still going to keep pretending with me?"
Yuan Siyin finally realized something was wrong and tried to shake off his hand, but she couldn't.
She frowned and looked up at Yu Shiyan, saying earnestly, word by word, "I'm not pretending. I don't understand what you're saying either. If you're really in a bad mood, you can go back and talk to me. I'll drink with you."
"If you're not pretending, then why are you treating me differently than before?"
Yu Shiyan's eyes were filled with a chilling intensity, but the corners of his lips curved into a handsome smile as he chuckled softly, "It seems you had this planned all along. You painstakingly approached me to try and erase what happened back then, even going so far as to help me rescue Granny Wang, all to clear the Empress Dowager's name."
After listening for a long time, Yuan Siyin finally managed to make some sense of it.
"Aunt? What happened to Aunt?"
Yu Shiyan didn't speak, his dark eyes fixed on her, and suddenly leaned down.
The other party's behavior showed no mercy whatsoever; it was so bold and unrestrained.
Then, Yuan Siyin cried out in pain and awkwardly got up, taking two steps back.
