Chapter 471: The Twisted Child
Needless to say, Yu Shiyan understood what she meant by the screenshot.
"I think you did this on purpose."
Yu Shimiao sat on the bed, fiddling with her DSLR camera while sticking her tongue out at her phone: "Brother, what are you saying? I don't understand. I really didn't mean to do this."
But Mom said you need to come home tonight.
"No time, I'll be going back this weekend."
Just as he was about to hang up, Yu Shimiao hurriedly said, "Mom said she has a terrible headache today, Dad is busy at the company, I'm at school now, and Mom is home alone."
Brother, if you're not too busy, please go home today. I'm a little worried about Mom being home alone.
"She's a grown woman, what's there to worry about?"
Before Yu Shimiao could finish speaking, Yu Shiyan hung up the phone.
She put down her phone, adjusted the camera, and was still smiling.
Sheng Yu was eating potato chips and watching a TV series when she heard no sound from the bed next to her. She sat up and gave her a strange look: "Did your brother agree?"
"I didn't agree, but it wasn't that I completely refused either."
Yu Shimiao said confidently, "That's just how my brother is. He's like a stubborn kid. He says he doesn't care, but he always goes home at night."
"It's good to be back... By the way, have you figured out how to do that short film assignment? Just thinking about it is giving me a headache."
There are four people in the dorm. The other two are playing video games with their headphones on, completely oblivious to the conversation.
"Hmm... I'm thinking about the plot, and the main characters have been selected. All that's left is to finalize the cast."
Yu Shimiao placed the DSLR camera on the bedside shelf, propped up her head with a pillow, and lay back down.
"Great, I still have no direction at all." Sheng Yu sighed, resting her chin on her hand, and lost all interest in watching the drama.
"If I could get your brother here, I wouldn't even need a female lead."
"What, you're going to be the female lead?"
"Yes, sister-in-law."
Yu Shimiao opened WPS and waved her hand dismissively: "Go cool off somewhere else, I don't agree."
"Why wouldn't I agree? I've done the math. Your brother is a Scorpio, and I'm a Cancer. We're a perfect match, okay?"
Sheng Yu pretended to count on his fingers, like a fortune teller.
"Forget about your zodiac sign. You have class this afternoon. Don't watch TV during class like last time. Don't blame us if you get scolded by your counselor."
Sheng Yu hummed twice and buried herself in watching the drama.
Yu Shimiao looked at the plot she had written with her hair turned bald from exhaustion and thought it was perfect. Everything was ready, except for the male and female leads.
She thought for a moment, then opened Yuan Siyin's chat window: "Siyin, are you busy?"
Although the two hadn't spoken when they first added each other, Yuan Siyin had become quite familiar with Yu Shimiao thanks to her frequent greetings over the past few days.
In the office, Yuan Siyin looked up from her work on various documents and data analysis, saw the message from Yu Shimiao, and simply replied with an "Mm".
Yu Shimiao had just put down her phone and was about to flip through the book again when she heard her phone ring. She couldn't help but sigh to herself that people with high work efficiency are indeed fast at everything.
Afraid that Yuan Siyin would be engrossed in her work and not check her phone, she pressed her advantage: "I have a favor to ask you, but I don't know when you'll be free."
"What kind of help?"
"Well... I have a filming assignment that counts towards my participation grade, and I'd like to ask you to help me fill in for me."
