Chapter 219: An Inexplicable Joy

Chapter 219: An Inexplicable Joy

She put the jade pendant back, stretched, walked around the screen to the bathtub, lazily lifted her inner garment with her fingertips, and her eyes met someone's gaze as she looked up.

Yuan Siyin blinked, calmly put her half-undone clothes back on, and casually picked up a round-mouthed porcelain bottle, even weighing it in her hand.

Who has such a vibrant nightlife? It's her.

No wonder there was an assassin out of nowhere; it turns out he was after the dog's head on her neck.

Yu Shiyan leaned against the window frame, breathing heavily. A layer of fine sweat covered his forehead, and blood seeped from between his fingers as he clutched his chest. Every breath was excruciatingly painful.

He almost instinctively sensed the murderous intent coming at him and pulled down his hat brim before the porcelain bottle could smash down.

Yuan Siyin trembled her hand, successfully pulling back from the brink. It was just a pity that the vase still couldn't escape its fate, smashing against the carved wooden window and shattering into pieces.

Zi Yuan's anxious voice immediately came from outside the door: "Miss, are you alright?"

Yuan Siyin snapped out of her daze and quickly replied loudly, "It's nothing, I just accidentally knocked something over."

Zi Yuan didn't say anything more, perhaps relieved.

Yuan Siyin walked up to him in a few steps, looking at his bloody wound, wanting to help but not daring to: "You're the unlucky guy?"

Yu Shiyan leaned gently on her shoulder with a sigh of relief, closed his eyes, frowned slightly, and hummed in agreement.

"Are you going to faint?"

Yuan Siyin was somewhat flustered.

Big brother! My dear brother! You still have blood on you!

Even though she was planning to take a shower, she shouldn't have done it like this.

"pain."

Yu Shiyan's breath was barely a whisper; her lips moved slightly as she uttered a very soft syllable. Her pale, delicate face contrasted sharply with the crimson blood on her chest, making her appear even more fragile.

"Sit down first, and wait for me."

Yuan Siyin helped him sit down on the ground, then let go of his hand with some concern. She hurriedly ran to the dressing table and rummaged through the drawers and cabinets, finally finding the wound medicine and bandages in the bottom compartment based on her memory.

Fortunately, Zi Yuan had prepared these things carefully, otherwise things would have been even more complicated later.

While other young ladies' dressing cases were filled with rouge and floral decorations, she secretly mixed in wound medicine.

"Shall I... lift it up and apply the medicine and bandages for you?" Yuan Siyin squatted down in front of him and asked tentatively.

Yu Shiyan nodded, slowly removing his hand from his chest. Even the tip of his nose was sweaty, and the blood on his palm was shocking.

Yuan Siyin couldn't quite describe her feelings; she felt depressed and a little angry.

They only ever bullied her and never others. An eye for an eye, and now they're getting bullied again, aren't they?

Serves them right.

Despite her thoughts, she took a deep breath and carefully lifted his clothes, layer after layer. Unfortunately, she didn't know exactly where the wound was, so she could only move very gently. Time seemed to drag on as if winter had returned.

Yu Shiyan watched silently as she traced the thick blood on her pale fingers, then suddenly said, "I can do it myself."

Yuan Siyin pressed his hand down, frowned slightly and said irritably, "You've come all this way to me, just to ask for my help, haven't you?"

"If you're so capable, next time you get injured, don't come here to lie in bed with me, go find Xinxin instead."

As soon as she finished speaking, she remembered that Qi Xinxin liked Si Fangming. She immediately pursed her lips and remained silent, instead focusing on treating his wound.

Yu Shiyan lowered his eyes, his tone clearly downcast: "Fine, I won't come."

Yuan Siyin was taken aback, but then continued applying the medicine as if nothing had happened.

When she learned that Qi Xinxin didn't like Yu Shiyan, she felt not only relieved but also a kind of joy that she couldn't explain.
