Chapter 452: Let me explain
Yu Shiyan sat on a comfortable, soft sofa, a pair of gold-rimmed glasses perched on his high-bridged nose. His eyelashes were long and delicate, and his gaze was focused on the pages of the book in his hands. His long, straight legs were casually crossed, and the warm sunlight streaming through the floor-to-ceiling windows made a few stray hairs sparkle, as if they were covered with a gentle filter.
He casually unbuttoned the top button of his shirt, took a sip of coffee, and glanced at the time every now and then.
Sensing someone's arrival, he looked up slightly, startled, then quietly pursed his lips. "Dad, what brings you here?"
Yu Hao sat down in front of him, his brows furrowed. "Tell us honestly, are you hiding anything from us?"
"What is it?" Yu Shiyan closed the book, clearly not understanding what he meant.
"You like that girl. You're so old, it's perfectly normal for you to date. Why are you hiding it from us?"
Yu Shiyan nodded helplessly at his watch. "Mr. Yu, it's working hours now. The person in charge should be here soon."
However, that person is really unpunctual; they made him wait an extra fifteen minutes.
Yu Hao snorted in dissatisfaction and leaned back on the sofa. "What do you mean, 'boss'? I'm your dad now!"
"Fine, go ahead and hide. Hiding won't help. Don't expect to see me until you tell me today."
"What does all this have to do with anything?" Yu Shiyan was completely confused.
Even though he wanted to keep up with this bizarre way of thinking, he still felt out of place.
"If you like her, just say so. Don't make your mom and me worry about your own affairs."
Yu Hao pointed at him with exasperation: "Alright, go upstairs, your mom's waiting for you."
"Why is Mom here? Didn't you say you were going to the hot springs with Shi Miao today?"
"Isn't it all because of your matter?"
Yu Hao gave him a disdainful look without saying a word, "Alright, let's go, don't wait, everyone's upstairs."
Before Yu Shiyan could say anything, another glare flew at him, leaving him speechless. He could only get up and follow him to the glass greenhouse lounge on the top floor.
When Yu Shiyan saw Yuan Siyin sitting next to Chu Huan like a quail, he slightly raised his eyes, his cold gaze unchanged.
Yuan Siyin quickly stood up and respectfully greeted President Yu.
Chu Huan stood up and made way for him, then pressed Yu Shiyan down next to her. She then cupped her face in her hands and looked at the two of them with satisfaction: "Not bad, not bad, what do you think?"
Yu Hao coughed seriously, "Hmm."
"Don't keep that long face. Don't you know who he learned it from?"
Upon hearing this, Yu Hao could only twitch the corner of his mouth, looking somewhat stiff, unsure whether to smile or not.
Although Chu Huan was not very satisfied, she didn't say anything excessive. She pinched his arm and whispered, "I think the two of them look a lot like us when we were young."
"How so?"
“You always have a cold face, but one time after school you followed me without saying a word. I thought you were a bad guy and was so scared that I told my parents to move house immediately.”
Yu Hao coughed lightly, revealing a helpless expression, and lowered his voice, "There was clearly someone following you suspiciously. I was afraid he might do something, so I followed him, but he cleverly ran away."
"I've mentioned this so many times, and you still remember it."
"Of course, how could I not remember?"
Seeing the two of them talking to each other, Yu Shiyan leaned back on the sofa and fixed his gaze on the jade bracelet on her snow-white wrist.
Afraid that he would misunderstand, Yuan Siyin quickly waved her hand to show her innocence: "Auntie won't let me pick them, or you can explain our relationship?"
