Chapter 311 The Frenzy of Having Babies

Gu Jinghe knew that Huo Haocheng's question stemmed from excessive worry about Ruan Ruan. "It went very smoothly; she was out in no time. Don't worry too much. Why don't you go in and check on my wife? She's doing great now, really. My mom said she's in excellent spirits."

Huo Haocheng, of course, went in to see what Gu Jinghe was saying, which was so unreliable. The women inside were all women who had just given birth. What was he, an outsider, going in for? However, after hearing that the birth had gone smoothly, he felt a little relieved.

Prior to this, on November 15th, Su Yanqiu and Chao Xi's wedding was held with the blessings of their two families and comrades-in-arms.

In mid-December, two days after Gu Jinghe's child was born, the grandmother received a call from her hometown. It was her eldest son calling to tell them that Li Huan had given birth to a boy, weighing 5 pounds 2 ounces, at home, and that both mother and child were safe. They had originally planned to take her to the hospital, but Li Huan's labor started too quickly; the tractor hadn't even arrived when they heard she was going into labor. They had no choice but to rush to find a midwife. From the onset of labor to the birth of the child, it only took two hours, and Li Huan truly suffered no hardship at all.

When they returned from the phone call and talked about this, the old lady and Wang Qun exclaimed that the child had come to repay a debt of gratitude.

On the last day of 1974, after dinner, Huo Haocheng, as usual, was about to take Ruan Ruan out for a walk. He was about to go to the room to cover her with a blanket because it was cold and he was afraid she would catch a cold if they went out.

"Oh, Huo Haocheng!" Ruan Ruan had just stood up from the stool when she felt uncomfortable in her stomach, with a faint feeling of heaviness.

Hearing the noise, Huo Haocheng immediately came out. Seeing his wife looking unwell, he asked, "Wife, what's wrong? Are you feeling uncomfortable?"

Grandma and Wang Qun, who were washing dishes in the kitchen, heard Huo Haocheng say he wasn't feeling well, so they put down their bowls and came out.

"Ruan Ruan, does your stomach hurt? Are you about to give birth?" The two looked at Ruan Ruan and figured she was probably about to give birth, but it was still early and the pain had just started.

"It should be," Ruan Ruan replied to her grandmother after calming down.

"Mom, could you boil some water for me? I want to wash my hair and take a bath first." The thought of not being able to wash her hair and take a bath for more than a month after giving birth made Ruan Ruan feel uncomfortable all over. Her stomach pain had only just started, and she still had some time. She could wash herself clean before going to the hospital.

Upon hearing that his wife was about to give birth, Huo Haocheng told his third aunt and then ran to the troupe.

When he drove back, he saw Ruan Shaoke and Bai Sirui, and Ruan Shaolin also drove up in a car.

When they arrived, Ruan Ruan had just finished washing up, and Wang Qun was drying her hair. Grandma had already packed everything the adults and children needed and placed it on the sofa.
