Chapter 65 Are you petting your cat?

Ruan Ruan woke up after eight o'clock. The rest of the family had eaten breakfast and gone to work. Huo Haocheng and the old man were playing chess downstairs, but the old man was terrible at chess. Not only did he take back his moves, but he also blamed Huo Haocheng for being too lucky when he lost.

"Tong, are you back yet?" Lying in bed, unwilling to get up, Ruan Ruan wanted to know about the two people from last night.

"I'm back already, host. You sleep way too much! Look, the sun's already high in the sky."

"Mind your own business. Tell me about those two. Who did they go to see?"

“Last night, after I followed them out of the station, they walked for about two kilometers, got into a car, and the person who came to pick them up was completely covered up and wearing a hat, so I couldn't see his face. This person led them into a small courtyard in Mao'er Hutong and then left.”

"Did they say anything after they got on the bus?"

"The driver asked, 'Have you brought the things?' They said they had, but they wanted to see the host in person to give them to him."

"Are you sure the item is that Tang tri-color glazed pottery plate with floral and bird design?"

"I'm sure. They took it out and looked at it after that person left. I saw it with my own eyes."

"And then, where did that person go?"

"I didn't chase after that person afterward. I followed him all the way to the Cui family and heard him meet with the head of the Cui family. I heard him say that he was going to start some kind of plan. He spoke too softly, and I didn't hear clearly."

"What plan are you launching? In other words, it's now confirmed that the Cui family are enemy agents, right?"

"Yes, host."

"Then, how about we go and kill them all tonight?" Ruan Ruan sat up straight, a little excited.

"Host, you don't yet have any evidence to prove that the Cui family are enemy agents, so you can't eliminate them."

"Didn't you just say..." Ruan Ruan then remembered that this was what 520 saw, not someone else.

"Tell me, since they're all enemy agents anyway, what would happen if I just went and wiped them all out?" Ruan Ruan made a throat-slitting gesture at 520's neck.

"Nothing will happen. It's just that the Cui family will be gone. The plan will still be launched. The difference is that when the Cui family is carrying it out, we can know the progress. When someone else is carrying it out, we won't know for the time being."

"Sigh, so they still have to live well now."

"That's how it seems at the moment."

What about the police?

"The public security authorities and the military have been secretly monitoring their every move."

"Alright, let's give them a little more time."

Inside the door, a person and a cat were chatting animatedly. Outside, Huo Haocheng overheard the conversation. He wondered when the seemingly delicate Ruan Ruan had started having such thoughts about killing people. Sigh, Huo Haocheng sighed.

"Ruan Ruan, I'm coming in," Huo Haocheng knocked on the door symbolically, then pushed it open and went inside.

"Are you hungry? Get up and eat. Grandpa just called to say they're coming over this afternoon. Grandma and Aunt Zhang went to buy groceries right now."

"Okay, have you eaten yet?"

I've already eaten.

"Did you hear what 520 said just now? Is there really no way to deal with the Cui family now?" The enemy is right in front of them, and they can't touch him. Ruan Ruan still felt very unconvinced. If this were in her time, she would have already picked up a gun and shot him.

"Now we just need to see who they've been in contact with. Once the list of people is finalized, we can take them all down at once." The moment they heard the news, they all wanted to shoot him, but they couldn't do that. At this point, it was a test of who had the most patience.

"Don't worry, bad people will get what they deserve." Huo Haocheng patted Ruan Ruan's head, a gesture he really liked. Ruan Ruan's hair was very soft and felt nice to touch.

"Are you petting a cat?" Ruan Ruan turned her head, looking at Huo Haocheng's hand that hadn't yet let go.

"Ahem, ahem," Huo Haocheng coughed twice to cover his embarrassment, withdrew his hand, and said, "I'll go downstairs to get you breakfast first. Come downstairs after you're dressed." After saying that, he turned and left the room.

After dinner, the old man asked Ruan Ruan to play chess.

"Haocheng told me you've studied chess. Come and play a game with Grandpa."

Ten minutes later

"Grandpa, how can you cheat? You clearly walked this way, and look at your cannon, there were no obstacles in the middle, how did it go straight here?"

As she spoke, Ruan Ruan reached out to return the old man's chess pieces to him.

"No, it was always here. Hey, you can't touch my piece!"

And then, they started all over again, because the grandfather and grandson had mixed up the other pieces while pushing and pulling.

An hour later, when Grandma Ruan returned from grocery shopping, she heard her granddaughter complaining about her husband.

"Grandpa, no, I don't want to play chess with you anymore. You cheat even more than me!" Ruan Ruan said sadly as she collapsed into Huo Haocheng's arms.

"Just one last time, I promise."

You have no credibility whatsoever.

Ruan Ruan felt exhausted playing chess with her grandfather. How could there be such a big difference in chess skills between two grandfathers?
