Chapter 76 Grandpa; I only know the Three Obediences and Four Virtues

Ruan Ruan and Huo Haocheng went to visit the Forbidden City early in the morning. They agreed to rent photo towels at a photo studio first before going to the Forbidden City.

Standing in front of the Hall of Supreme Harmony, there were no throngs of people jostling each other. Everyone who entered looked happy; there was no comparison, no discrimination, and no intention to offend anyone.

Huo Haocheng allowed Ruan Ruan to visit and take photos in several places that were inaccessible in the 22nd century, including the palace, the artificial hill in the Imperial Garden, the Hall of Union and Harmony, and the Military Affairs Office. It felt like the day was over before they had finished exploring. Before the boss got off work, the two returned the camera and took the photos they had taken.

Back home, Ruan Ruan happily shared the photos with her grandparents.

"Grandpa and Grandma, look! Haocheng took these photos of me, they're so beautiful!" Ruan Ruan plopped down on the sofa next to her grandmother and showed them the photos she had just brought back, one by one.

"Wow, you even climbed the Great Wall!" Grandpa picked up a photo of them on the Great Wall. The day they climbed the Great Wall, Ruan Ruan kept saying, "Since we're here, we're not heroes if we don't climb it." After that, Ruan Ruan was so tired that she couldn't get up.

"Grandpa, I'm really amazing!"

"Now I see," he thought. "It's quite impressive that this girl, who usually stays at home all the time, went to climb the Great Wall."

"These photos are all beautiful. Did Haocheng take them?" Grandma looked at the photos in her hand, somewhat incredulous that a grown man could have taken them. Thinking about the men in the family, they probably didn't even know where a camera was.

"Really, Grandma, all the photos were taken by Haocheng. Aren't they beautiful? I especially like them," Ruan Ruan said narcissistically.

"Beautiful! Haocheng took such great photos!" Grandma praised as well.

"It's all thanks to Ruan Ruan's excellent teaching, and she's truly beautiful," Huo Haocheng said, looking at Ruan Ruan. When taking photos, Ruan Ruan let him take them however he wanted—squatting, lying down, standing—there were all sorts of strange poses, but the photos looked good, and she was happy, so it was all worth it.

"Alright, alright, I'll go check if the food is ready." Seeing them like that, Grandma felt a pang of jealousy and didn't want to stay a moment longer. She got up and headed to the kitchen.

"That's enough of you. You can't stop talking about your wife. Aren't you afraid people will say you're afraid of her?" The old man couldn't stand it anymore. His wife had been through thick and thin for so many years and had never been this clingy.

"What's wrong with being afraid of your wife? Grandpa, you're afraid of your wife too." Don't think she can't see it; Grandma is the one who calls the shots at home.

"How am I afraid of my wife? I'm just respecting your grandmother. She's old enough as her, and I don't want to argue with her," the old man stubbornly insisted.

"How dare you say that to Grandma's face? Grandma, Grandpa's calling you!" Ruan Ruan shouted as she called for her grandmother in the kitchen.

"What are you yelling for, what are you yelling for, you brat!" Seeing that things were not going well, the old man went up to pull Ruan Ruan away. He really didn't expect this child to be so fierce, he actually yelled when he said he would.

"What's wrong?" The nanny asked, standing at the kitchen door, when she heard Ruan Ruan calling her.

"Grandpa said... um..."

"It's alright, you go ahead with your work," the old man quickly covered Ruan Ruan's mouth, preventing her from saying anything. Seeing this, the grandmother smiled, turned around and went inside. Usually, none of the children in the family dared to play around with the old man like this. The two of them are almost 100 years old combined, but they get along like children who haven't grown up.

"Grandpa, you're being uncivilized!" Ruan Ruan grabbed the old man's hand and said coquettishly.

"What martial virtue? This old man only obeys the Three Obediences and Four Virtues."

"What about the Three Obediences and Four Virtues?"

The old man wanted to speak, but seeing Ruan Ruan's posture, he sensed something was wrong. His years of fighting experience told him there was a trap and he needed to retreat. So the old man immediately got up and walked around, saying to the kitchen, "Old woman, is it ready yet? The children will be back soon."

If you can't win, retreat tactically first.

"You!" Looking at the grandfather and granddaughter playing around, Huo Haocheng thought Ruan Ruan was very cute. Who would have thought that the usually serious and unapproachable old general had this side to him? It was simply a matter of acknowledging Ruan Ruan's talent.

During the day, the brothers got together with their friends. They didn't know when they would see each other again so all together, so during dinner, Ruan Chuanji asked Huo Haocheng, "Haocheng, when are you guys going back to Yuncheng?"

"Dad, we'll be here in a few days too. My family visit and wedding leave together are two months long. Excluding travel time, I can still stay at home for two days."

"Alright, I'll have someone book tickets for the three of you tomorrow."

"Ruan Ruan, have you thought about what you'll do after you go to Yuncheng?" Ruan Ruan is still young; she married Huo Haocheng right after graduating high school and hasn't considered working yet.

"I haven't decided yet, Dad. Do you have any suggestions?" Ruan Ruan hadn't really thought about work. Right now, all she was thinking about was how to take care of all the bad guys while lying at home.

"I heard you've studied some foreign languages. Which ones do you know?"

"I speak five languages: Chinese, English, Russian, French, and German." She also knows some other less common languages, which she learned while on a mission, but she can't speak them.

"You know them all?" Ruan Chuanji was surprised that Ruan Ruan knew so many foreign languages.

"They're all alright; I recognize everyone I've met so far."

"Okay, I'll bring some documents back tomorrow, you can translate them." The country is currently facing a severe shortage of translators, especially multilingual translators. Anyway, Ruan Ruan has the ability. She doesn't like going out, right? Then she can do translation; it benefits both the country and herself.

"That works too," Ruan Ruan thought. Since she had the system anyway, she could bring him along so that things would be easier for her.
