So Jiang Yixing and Rong Hang were arranged to stay at a nearby hotel, and the Alliance even booked two adjacent rooms.
After quickly packing his meager belongings, and seeing that it was almost evening, Jiang Yixing knocked on Rong Hang's door.
"Want to eat?"
Rong Hang nodded, went back inside to grab a cell phone, and then went out.
The hotel is located in the city center, where the streets are bustling with traffic. The sky is already slightly dark, and the streetlights and various signs are lit up, creating a particularly enchanting scene in the twilight.
This was the first time Rong Hang had ever seen such a scene; people came and went, each with a different expression—a bustling scene unlike anything he had ever witnessed before.
Jiang Yixing patted him on the shoulder, "What do you want to eat?"
Looking at Jiang Yixing, Rong Hang felt that the person in front of him was the real one.
"It will be all right."
"How about we go eat that roast duck then?"
Jiang Yixing never expected Rong Hang to be able to choose what to eat. It would be a waste of all the delicious food on the street to let someone who hasn't touched ordinary food for hundreds of years make the choice.
Jiang Yixing pointed to a shop across the street, its signboard flashing red, and said, "I heard the roast duck here is delicious."
Rong Hang naturally had no other opinions.
The roast duck truly lives up to its reputation; its skin is thin and its meat is tender. When you chew it, the oil between the skin and meat flows out, and when paired with the special roast duck sauce, it is simply unforgettable and leaves a lingering fragrance on your lips and teeth.
Jiang Yixing squinted her eyes happily, the corners of her eyes slightly upturned.
Seeing Jiang Yixing's expression, Rong Hang couldn't help but smile as well.
After dinner, night truly fell outside, the moon hung high in the sky, and the houses were brightly lit.
Jiang Yixing and Rong Hang walked back to the hotel along the path. The road became less crowded, with only an occasional car passing by.
Not far ahead of them, a woman was walking alone, carrying a handbag and wearing a professional gray suit, seemingly having just finished get off work.
Jiang Yixing and Rong Hang, who were chatting casually, suddenly seemed to sense something and both turned their heads sharply to look ahead.
At that moment, a strange change occurred. A cloud of black mist, whose nature was indistinct, rushed towards the woman and instantly enveloped her.
The woman, however, continued walking forward as if oblivious to everything.
Jiang Yixing narrowed her eyes slightly, chuckled softly, and raised an eyebrow at Rong Hang, signaling her to come over.
Then, with a slight movement of his fingers, light invisible to ordinary people flew in a straight line toward the woman.
Two completely different lights suddenly appeared beside the woman; the black mist was no match for the white light and was driven into a corner.
The woman was still completely unaware that she had just narrowly escaped death; all she wanted was to get home and rest.
As Jiang Yixing and Rong Hang strolled leisurely into the alley, the black mist had already been shattered into its original form, emitting a roar, and was tightly trapped by the white light.
"Oh," Jiang Yixing feigned surprise, "Why is there a bat here?"
Rong Hang looked at Jiang Yixing's appearance, a smile flashing in his eyes, but he remained outwardly composed and said nothing.
The bat slowly stopped hissing and looked at the two people who had suddenly appeared, a hint of human-like confusion flashing in its dark eyes.
Did these two just happen to walk by?
The bat's eyes darted around. It didn't know what this strange white light was, but maybe it could help it get out.
The bat feigned pain and let out a low groan, its wings trembling slightly as if it were injured.
Jiang Yixing suppressed the smile on his lips, his fingertips twitching slightly.
Just as the bat was putting on a pitiful act, the white light in front of it suddenly emitted electricity, shocking the bat and causing it to lose its senses for a moment.
His body began to convulse involuntarily, and things really became miserable.
The bat was furious. What on earth was this thing?!
Rong Hang looked at the increasingly dark sky, took out his phone and saw that it was almost nine o'clock.
Rong Hang was getting impatient. Time was precious, and this bloodthirsty bat had already wasted 15 minutes of his time with Jiang Yixing.
Rong Hang got annoyed, and the bat suffered the consequences. Before it could figure out what the white light was, another ball of black light rushed towards it.
Unlike the gentleness of white light, this black light carried the force of thunder, striking its body fiercely.
The bat suddenly fainted.
Jiang Yixing looked at Rong Hang with some surprise. Rong Hang hadn't shown any aggression in front of him for a long time.
Rong Hang's expression was indifferent, but his eyes were chilling. It wasn't until Jiang Yixing looked over that the coldness melted away. "Let's go back."
Jiang Yixing smiled and said, "Let's go."
Then, with a casual gesture, he lifted the bat that had fainted on the ground.
Rong Hang showed a hint of disgust and frowned. "I'll do it."
He wrapped the bat in ice, used spiritual energy as a rope, and dragged the bat along.
Upon arriving at the hotel, Jiang Yixing intended to take the bat back to his room, but Rong Hang stopped him and carried it back to his own room.
It's almost impossible for the ice in Ronghang to melt, and if the bat is kept frozen, Jiang Yixing estimates it won't survive the night.
So Jiang Yixing followed Rong Hang into the room. There wasn't much in the room, but the suitcase he brought was open, containing all the luggage that Jin Yuzhen had packed for Rong Hang. It was quite complete.
"Let's thaw him."
Rong Hang raised his hand, and the ice evaporated, leaving behind bats frozen purple.
Jiang Yixing quickly built a small wooden cage, which was just the right size to hold the bat.
Several branches were also wrapped around the bat, firmly fixing its movement.
Seeing that the bat was still not awake, Rong Hang showed some impatience.
The next second, a flash of cold light appeared, forcing the bat to wake from its slumber.
Upon waking, the bat instinctively sensed danger and tried to spread its wings and fly, only to find that its wings were tied to its body, and no matter how it moved, it could not break free.
Looking at the two people in front of me, one was sitting on the sofa, and the other was standing leaning against the bed.
Even a bat with no brains would know that these two were behind it.
It immediately let out a roar and shouted angrily, "Who are you? Let me go!"
Neither of them was intimidated by him. Jiang Yixing leisurely stuffed the snacks that the hotel had just served into his mouth. Rong Hang, on the other hand, lowered his eyes and gave him a cold glance.
The bat trembled slightly. "Why...why did you capture me?"
"Why don't you ask yourself why you attacked passersby?" Jiang Yixing clapped his hands and picked up a tissue to wipe them.
The bat then realized that the two men had seen everything it had done.
A fierce glint flashed in its eyes, and it opened its mouth, spitting out fire.
The flames rushed straight towards Jiang Yixing, but before she could move, the fire, which was half a meter away from her, was blocked by the ice wall.
Rong Hang waved his hand, and the bat was sent flying, crashing hard into the wall and spitting out blood.
Rong Hang took half a step forward, his hands already gathering spiritual power. In another half second, the bat would die.
Jiang Yixing stepped in front of Rong Hang, then turned back and smiled at him: "Let's hear what it has to say first."
