Chapter Six



Rong Hang felt the icy tears burning him with heat, and unconsciously pulled his arm back, only to be pulled back sharply by Jin Yuzhen.

Jin Yuzhen was in tears, biting her lower lip tightly, refusing to let go of Rong Hang's hand.

Rong Hang looked away and didn't pull his hand away again.

Jin Yuzhen recalled what a Buddhist master had said many years ago.

The master at the time described it as "as difficult as ascending to heaven."

This was a devastating blow to everyone in the Rong family at the time. In their grief, everyone turned their attention to Jin Yuzhen, fearing that she might be overwhelmed with sorrow.

But Jin Yuzhen stubbornly held on and didn't collapse, saying fiercely, "As long as there's even a sliver of hope, we won't give up."

For the first time, Jin Yuzhen's usually smiling face revealed such a fierce expression, as if she wanted to vent all her anger. One couldn't help but sigh that she was indeed from a military family and had a very resilient character.

The master sighed deeply, said nothing, and only shook his head.

The whole family remained silent; no one could accept this fact.

Jin Yuzhen's face was expressionless, but tears kept falling as she clung tightly to the master's robe, as if grasping at a last straw.

"Please save him! Is there any way? Please save him!"

Before leaving, the master couldn't bear to part with her and left a message that offered Jin Yuzhen a glimmer of hope: "Perhaps there's some opportunity. Who can predict what will happen in this world?"

Jin Yuzhen suddenly remembered this again today, and tears finally fell. If it really was God who gave Rong Hang a chance, she was willing to pay any price.
