Chapter Sixty-Eight

The staff member was momentarily embarrassed, looking at his colleagues below the stage, unsure of what to do.

Jiang Yixing took the gift box from her hand and mouthed, "I'll take it."

Then she walked up to the male audience member, and as Jiang Yixing expected, as soon as she stood still, the audience member spoke up, "Can I ask you a question?"

All the staff present, including He Mang, tensed up. He Mang stepped forward and stood in front of Jiang Yixing, blocking the audience from her.

The host then said, "Excuse me, this audience member, we don't have a Q&A session today."

The organizers had people on hand, ready to go on stage and pull the audience down at any moment.

Jiang Yixing remained indifferent; when the camera captured her face, her expression was cold and aloof.

The audience gasped, and the two rows of cultivators stood up, their expressions unfriendly.

The host's mind went blank; he didn't know how to salvage the situation that was beyond repair.

He Mang's face darkened considerably, and just as he was about to take a step forward, he heard Jiang Yixing's voice.

Her voice was still clear and crisp, but colder and harder than ever before: "No."

She looked down at the audience member, her gaze seemingly able to see through their hearts through the brim of her hat. "I suppose you won't believe what I say for now. That's okay. I think rumors are normal, but I don't like seeing people lose themselves for something so vague and unreal."

Jiang Yixing wasn't holding a microphone when he said this, but his voice carried through the crowd, and everyone could hear it clearly.

Jiang Yixing bent down and whispered in the audience's ear, "Why don't you take out the knife? It'll save you a trip to the police station. I won't hurt you, but you'll have a criminal record."

What do you think?

As Jiang Yixing finished speaking, the male audience member suddenly knelt on the ground, as if all his strength had been drained.

How could she have known she was carrying a knife...?
