Chapter Sixty-One

Ji Fu was incredibly energetic, having been discussing this issue with Jiang Yixing for over two hours. Jiang Yixing, who had gone from being excited to being perfunctory, had exhausted all his energy.

They even began to wonder if the spirit of the artifact never gets tired.

Ke Jifu remains full of energy, possesses a strong spirit of research, and is tireless and persistent.

Faced with Ji Fu's eyes yearning for knowledge, Jiang Yixing looked to Rong Hang for help, pleading, "Save the child!"

Rong Hang coughed, covering his mouth, and took over the conversation.

Rong Hang was not originally skilled in weapon crafting, as he was devoted to the sword. However, after leaving his sect, no one was willing to craft weapons for him. His favorite sword had long been destroyed in battle, so he had no choice but to take on the task and become his own weapon crafter.

Fortunately, he is very intelligent and can learn anything quickly, so he now has some experience in weapon crafting.

If other weapon refiners knew about Rong Hang's actions, they would surely be heartbroken and devastated.

What? I spent over ten years learning weapon crafting and it took me more than a decade to even get the basics right, and you succeeded so easily?

Good heavens, good heavens, is this something a human would do?! This is downright monstrous!

Ji Fu hadn't expected Rong Hang to be so skilled in weapon crafting. He immediately stopped focusing solely on Jiang Yixing and started asking Rong Hang all sorts of questions.

Jiang Yixing breathed a sigh of relief, finally having time to sit down and have a drink of water.

Gu Chun, who had been waiting for a long time, sat listlessly on the sofa with vacant eyes.

Meanwhile, the trapped bat on the opposite side had already gone through another round of sleep, still cursing these four heartless humans in its dreams for leaving a demon like itself here, making it live in fear, while they went off to discuss topics that demons couldn't understand.

You're insane!

Rong Hang and Ji Fu chatted for a while longer, while Jiang Yixing began to make lunch reservations at the hotel front desk.

It wasn't until lunch was served that Ji Fu clapped his hands, rushed over, and hugged Rong Hang, exclaiming, "I'm so happy!"

Just as she was about to hug Jiang Yixing, Rong Hang stopped her, pointing to the plate in front of her. "Let's eat first."

"Right, right, otherwise it would have gone cold."

So the four of them sat down together for lunch. I must say, as expected of a famous hotel in the city, the food was delicious.

The bat demon was once again awakened by the aroma of food, its stomach growling loudly from not having eaten all night.

The bat demon, in its impotent rage: Damn it! Interrogate me first!!

Of all things under heaven, eating is the most important.

Now, the four strongest cultivators sat together and finished their hotel lunch. After they were full, someone finally remembered the bat demon who had been imprisoned.

Gu Chun: "Fellow Daoist Rong, you said before that someone instigated this? What's the situation?"

Rong Hang cleaned up the dishes and briefly explained the situation, but only mentioned that he had learned it using a secret method, without mentioning the soul-searching technique.

There are quite a few techniques in the cultivation world that can do this. Those skilled in divination can perform fortune telling, and those who have opened their Heavenly Eye can observe the cause-and-effect relationships of all things. Therefore, Gu Chun did not ask any further questions.

“Recently, there have been a number of incidents of monsters injuring people. And there are many more than in previous years. In fact, monsters that have gained sentience do not easily harm people, because many human cultivators will slay the monsters and eliminate evil.”

"But the growth rate in the last year or two has been too fast. The Alliance only started to take over the management of monsters in this year and established the Monster Management Bureau."

Jiang Yixing was particularly interested in the Demon Management Bureau mentioned in Gu Chunhua's words. "Demon Management Bureau? What does that do?"

"It is an administrative office jointly established by large demon races and humans, mainly responsible for handling conflicts between humans and demons, intellectual enlightenment of demon races, moral education, and so on."

Gu Chun spoke earnestly and methodically.

The bat demon listened intently, and upon hearing this, couldn't help but scoff, "What 'human-demon co-construction'? I think it's just humans dominating the world!"

Gu Chun turned his head and said, “No, that’s not the case. All four major demon clans are involved. The Demon Clan Protection Law is currently being established, and the Demon Management Bureau also adopts a three-power separation model, with the demon clans, government representatives, and alliance cultivators each forming a faction, creating a balance of power and mutual checks and balances.”

The bat demon turned its head. "Anyway, you're from the Alliance, so you can decide for yourself."

The bat demon, recalling its decades of suffering, glared at the man with bloodshot eyes. "Stop spouting nonsense you can't understand. You arrest us just because we make mistakes? What about humans when they make mistakes?"

"Tube."

Gu Chun finished speaking, his face still cold, but his eyes revealed sincerity.

Jiang Yixing and Rong Hang both turned their heads to look at him. In that instant, he did indeed have a bit of his father's shadow in him, with a seriousness that was determined to achieve his goal and single-mindedly pursue the Dao.

“We are trying our best.”

This sentence might sound like he was just being perfunctory, but Jiang Yixing could sense his seriousness.

She rested her chin on her hand, her eyes crinkling with laughter.

The alliance is really interesting.

For some reason, the bat demon didn't refute, but only lowered its head and made a soft sound.

Gu Chun couldn't make the judgment on the bat demon either; he had to take it back and hand it over to the professionals at the Demon Management Bureau for processing.

"Attempted assault will inevitably result in labor reform."

Gu Chun, still with a stern face, turned to Jiang Yixing and Rong Hang and said, "We will have to trouble Fellow Daoist Jiang and Fellow Daoist Rong with this matter in the future."

Jiang Yixing and Rong Hang nodded in unison.

If you're paid, everything's fine.

Gu Chun left with Ji Fu, carrying the cage containing the bat demon. Ji Fu was still reluctant to leave, repeatedly emphasizing that Rong Hang and Jiang Yixing should come find him to play together later.

The departure of the two people and the beast plunged Rong Hang's room into silence once again.

Rong Hang swallowed hard and asked, "Want to go out for a walk?"

Rong Hang still harbored resentment about his walk being interrupted by the bat demon yesterday, and now he finally had the chance to speak out.
