Chapter Sixty-Seven

Jiang Yixing had just flown back to City B when he was arranged to attend an event hosted by Fobana.

This was an offline promotional event to promote Fobana's new seasonal products. As the spokesperson, Jiang Yixing had an unavoidable duty to participate, and after much consideration, Zhang Meng decided to let Jiang Yixing attend.

Zhang Meng was originally supposed to follow along the whole way, but when he arrived at the airport, he was bombarded with phone calls one after another.

It turned out that another artist he was accompanying had gotten into trouble, forcing him to temporarily abandon his accompaniment duties and return to deal with more urgent matters.

Zhang Meng was in a dilemma. It was Jiang Yixing's first time attending an event, and he couldn't be there for her. He felt really bad about it.

Jiang Yixing reassured Zhang Meng instead, "Don't worry, I'm a grown man, what could possibly happen to me?"

"The event starts tomorrow afternoon. I'll see if I can make it there."

"Don't worry, it's okay."

"I'll definitely get you an assistant later; it's too unsafe for you to be alone."

Jiang Yixing smiled and said okay.

It was already 3 p.m. when Jiang Yixing arrived at the hotel that Zhang Meng had booked in advance. She took out her ID card and checked in. Her room was on the 15th floor.

As soon as the elevator doors opened, an unexpected person appeared. "Hey."

He Mang waved and greeted Jiang Yixing first.

Jiang Yixing nodded to him and saw that the button for the 15th floor was lit up.

"You're on the 15th floor too?"

"Yes, 1503."

Jiang Yixing thought to himself, "What a coincidence, I'm 1504."

There was no one else in the elevator except Jiang Yixing and He Mang.

He Mang had always wanted to ask a question, but he hadn't voiced it. Now, he finally had the chance to ask it in this secluded environment!

Jiang Yixing noticed that He Mang had been secretly observing him, and chuckled, "Is there something you want to say?"

"Ah... um..." Caught red-handed, He Mang was a little embarrassed for a moment, but he quickly recovered and asked the question that had been bothering him for a long time: "You... did you study combat sports in college?"

Jiang Yixing, a freshman, is just an ordinary female college student. Although she's not spoiled, she shouldn't be able to kick over a motorcycle or pin a thug to the ground and beat him up.

How did she transform from a little girl worried about physical fitness tests into Popeye the Sailor Man?!

He Mang looked serious, his eyes filled with a thirst for knowledge.

Jiang Yixing chuckled. "I did participate in some training, but not combat sports. You could say...kung fu?"

With a "ding," the elevator reached the 15th floor, and the elevator doors slowly opened.

Jiang Yixing walked out and saw He Mang frozen in place. He called out to him, "We're here. Let's go."

He Mang was pulled back to reality by Jiang Yixing's voice, and ran a few steps to catch up with Jiang Yixing, "Does kung fu really exist in the world?"

Jiang Yixing was already standing at his door, and replied perfunctorily, "Yes."

Then he pointed to the door next to him, "Your room is over there."

He Mang acted as if she hadn't heard him and continued to follow closely behind Jiang Yixing.

Jiang Yixing turned the key, and the door clicked open. She turned her head helplessly and said, "He Mang, Director He, I'm going in."

Like a little boy who has discovered a new toy, He Mang persisted relentlessly, "Can you show me?"

Jiang Yixing could already sense that several cameras were filming around them, hidden in the building opposite this one, with guards on floors 13-15.

Jiang Yixing was having a terrible headache. She could already imagine how the news would describe her and He Mang tomorrow—"Entering the hotel one after the other," "Meeting with her ex-boyfriend in the hotel," "Pulling and pulling each other in the corridor, behaving in an ambiguous manner."

Jiang Yixing's gaze followed the building across the street, his sharp eyes seemingly able to pierce through several layers of glass, directly hitting the paparazzi's eyes.

"Oh my!" The paparazzi was startled, which attracted the attention of everyone in the room.

"What's wrong?"

"Any new developments?"

The paparazzi rubbed his sore backside. "No, no, it's just that I felt like Jiang Yixing saw us."

"How is that possible! This is the 15th floor, which is a long way from that building!"

"Don't panic, hurry up and take the picture, you'll be on the front page tomorrow!"

"oh oh…"

The paparazzi responded meekly and returned to his seat. The feeling of being stared at had disappeared. Was the paparazzi hallucinating?

Jiang Yixing glanced at the positions of the paparazzi and figured catching them wouldn't be difficult, but He Mang was still there and didn't seem to want to leave anytime soon.

Jiang Yixing sighed inwardly. It seemed that he had no choice but to be in the news.

Jiang Yixing pushed open the door. The hotel room was spotless. With a slight wave of her hand, a small hamster fell to the ground, its eyes gleaming.

"I'll only demonstrate it to you once."

He Mang nodded, his face full of interest beneath his large beard. Considering the rumors between him and Jiang Yixing, he remained rational and did not enter the room, but instead leaned against the door.

Jiang Yixing stood at attention, took a deep breath, and suddenly threw a punch. Each punch generated a gust of wind. He split into a half-horse stance, switched from fist to palm, and kept moving his feet. His lower body was extremely stable, and his upper body burst out with powerful force.

With a flip, He Mang seemed to see a stick in her hand, the stick coming down on his head. Even though it was far away from He Mang, his heart skipped a beat, and he involuntarily took half a step back.

Jiang Yixing's eyes crinkled into a smile. He pulled down the bed runner from the bed with his right hand, and with a nimble flick of his wrist, he stretched the bed runner into a long strip in a few quick movements. He then grabbed the other end with his left hand, and with a burst of strength from both hands, the bed runner taut. Jiang Yixing leaped into the air, his hands gliding gracefully in an arc above his head, performing a side somersault and landing lightly.

As she landed, the weight eased in her hands, and the bed runner loosely gripped Jiang Yixing's grasp. Jiang Yixing's eyes were bright, and she wasn't out of breath. "Is that enough?"

He Mang was stunned for a long time, her mind replaying Jiang Yixing's heroic demeanor just now. Every strand of her hair seemed to obey her command, moving wherever it should, until finally, it obediently fell down.

A vibrant life force surged towards He Mang; in this era, he hadn't seen such vitality in a long time.

He Mang clutched her pounding heart, not wanting to waste a moment, and strode towards Jiang Yixing, grasping her hands in his. "Jiang Yixing, you must be in my next movie."

Jiang Yixing raised an eyebrow, looking at the light shining in He Mang's eyes, but didn't pull her hand away.

"Let's make a martial arts film! You'll definitely be the lead! I'll go back and start preparations today!"

Jiang Yixing smiled and said, "Sure, I can't refuse Director He's invitation."
