A week later, the two's schedules were perfectly staggered. Team K had no schedule this week, and Ouyang Guang was also in school, taking classes and making up lessons. The college entrance exam was in mid-November, so the schedule was very tight.
The only intersection was the late night message:
[Kim Ji-won] Just received your letter... Have you finished your tutoring?
[Ouyang Guang] Yes, on the way back to the dormitory.
[Kim Ji-won] You must have worked hard, pat on the head
(´・ω・)ノ(._.`)!
[Ouyangguang] Let’s eat ginseng chicken soup next time we record.
[Kim Ji-won] Hmm!
…
It wasn't until the program crew coordinated for this Sunday that they finally managed to get a full 24-hour recording schedule.
At 7 o'clock in the morning, the streets of Seoul were still shrouded in mist, and Ouyang Guang was already standing at the agreed location waiting. He was wearing a simple white sweatshirt and black casual pants, his hair was slightly fluffy, and he was wearing a pair of glasses.
"Why hasn't he come yet..." He looked down at his watch, his fingers tapping the phone screen unconsciously.
Just then, a white nanny car slowly stopped in front of him, the window rolled down, Jin Zhiyuan stuck her head out and waved at him: "Have you been waiting for a long time?"
Ouyangguang's eyes lit up, and he immediately walked over to help her open the car door: "No, I just arrived."
Jin Zhiyuan wore a beige sweater and light-colored jeans today, with her hair loosely tied behind her head, looking much softer than before. When she got off the car, Ouyang Guang noticed that there was a faint blue color under her eyes.
"Are you tired lately?" he asked.
Kim Ji-won nodded and said, "I'm preparing to audition for a new drama."
Ouyang Guang didn't say anything, but just patted her shoulder gently: "Let's go, I'll take you to drink ginseng chicken soup to replenish your body."
The shop was hidden deep in the alley, the wooden sign was a little worn, and there was a faded curtain hanging at the door. When Ouyang Guang pushed open the door, a familiar aroma hit her face.
"My parents brought me here once before," he explained in a low voice, "and the boss lady made authentic ginseng chicken soup."
Jin Zhiyuan looked around curiously. There were not many people in the store, only a few aunts in their 80s were drinking soup slowly. When the boss saw Ouyang Guang, her eyes lit up: "Oh, isn't this Xiaoguang? You haven't been here for a long time!"
Ouyang Guang smiled and nodded to greet him, then pointed at Jin Zhiyuan and said, "I brought a friend to try it today."
The proprietress gave the two of them a meaningful look and continued preparing food with a smile.
Kim Ji-won whispered, "Did you come here often before?"
"Yeah," Ouyang Guang poured her a cup of hot tea, "during the training period, sometimes I would come here when I felt tired."
Kim Ji-won held the teacup, and in the steam, she saw Ouyang Guang's profile looking particularly soft in the morning light.
The ginseng chicken soup was almost served. Kim Ji-won scooped a spoonful, blew it gently, took a sip, and her eyes lit up instantly: "It tastes good!"
Ouyang Guang looked at her satisfied expression, and the corners of his mouth rose unconsciously: "Slow down, be careful of the heat."
There was only a cup of latte in front of him.
Jin Zhiyuan frowned: "You don't want to drink?"
Ouyang Guang shook his head: "I don't really like the taste of ginseng chicken soup."
"Then why did you bring me here?"
"Because you've been very tired lately," he said matter-of-factly, "this is good for your health."
Jin Zhiyuan was stunned for a moment, then lowered her head to continue drinking soup, with the tips of her ears turning red.
After breakfast, the two went to Gyeongbokgung Palace. The program crew contacted a hanbok rental shop in advance and prepared two sets of traditional costumes for them.
Jin Zhiyuan chose an orange hanbok with sunflower patterns embroidered on the hem. Her hair was put into an elegant bun by the clerk and a simple pearl hairpin was inserted. When she came out of the dressing room, Ouyang Guang was adjusting her belt with her back to her.
"How is it?" she asked softly.
Ouyang Guang turned around and was stunned for a moment.
The sunlight shone through the window onto Kim Ji-won. The orange hanbok made her skin look as white as snow, and the pearl hairpin in her hair swayed gently with her movements.
"...very beautiful." He whispered, his voice a little hoarse than before.
Ouyangguang herself was wearing a navy blue Korean dress with a silver pattern belt tied around her waist, and she stood tall and straight like a pine tree. When the two stood together, even the clerk couldn't help but exclaim: "They are such a good match!"
Wearing a Korean traditional dress and walking on the bluestone pavement of Gyeongbokgung Palace, it feels like traveling back to ancient times. Kim Ji-won is interested in history and explained the stories of various palaces to Ouyangguang while walking.
"Do you know why the stone pavement in front of the Qinzheng Hall is bumpy?" she asked, pointing to the ground.
Ouyang Guang pretended to be ignorant and shook his head.
"It's to make the ministers walk slower," Kim Ji-won said with a smile, "so that the king has more time to think about how to answer their questions."
Ouyang Guang raised his eyebrows: "Our nuna knows a lot of knowledge."
"I'm a college graduate!" She raised her chin proudly.
Walking to a secluded corner, the production crew signaled that they could move freely for a few minutes. Jin Zhiyuan leaned against the railing, staring at the palace roof in the distance. Ouyang Guang stood beside her, and their sleeves gently touched.
"Are you tired?" he asked.
