Chapter 12: Trainee's First Day② (1/2)

After putting down the luggage and sorting it out, "Let's go, I'll take you around to familiarize you with the environment." Li Jae-hoon patted his shoulder.

Walking out of the dormitory building, the sun suddenly hit his skin, and Ouyang Guang realized that his palms were full of sweat. Park Junhao's words were like a dark cloud, weighing heavily on his head.

Back to the SM building again, the interior looks more depressing than the outside. Both sides of the corridor are covered with posters of artists, from HOT to BoA, to TVXQ, SuperJunior, and Girls' Generation, each one is bright and beautiful.

Li Jae-hoon took Ouyang Guang to each floor with familiarity.

"This is the vocal classroom. Usually there will be teachers here to give lessons."

"This is the dance practice room. It's divided into three rooms, large, medium and small. Usually when there are a lot of people, we'll go to the small one."

"The top floor is the recording studio. Don't go there unless you have something to do."

I pushed open the door of a practice room and saw quite a few people practicing inside.

Some were stretching their legs, some were practicing their expressions in front of the mirror, and others were gathering in twos and threes to discuss the movements.

The music was blasting loudly. When a stranger came in, a few eyes glanced over and then quickly looked away, with scrutiny and distance, and the whispers became quieter.

Ouyang Guang tightly grasped the strap of his schoolbag, feeling like a sheep that had strayed into a pack of wolves.

"See that highest practice room?" Li Jae-hoon pointed to the end of the corridor. "That's for the key trainees. If you work hard, you can get there in the future."

After a tour, Ouyang Guang had a general understanding of the company's layout.

The practice area on the seventh floor of the SM building was like a precision-operated factory. Ouyang Guang followed Lee Jae-hoon through the long corridor. Behind the glass walls on both sides were trainees from different groups. Someone in the vocal room struggled repeatedly with the high notes, and in the dance room, sweat left dark marks on the floor.

"Here is your class schedule." Li Jae-hoon handed him a printed sheet of paper.

"Voice lessons from 9am to 12pm, dance training from 1pm to 5pm, and optional classes from 1pm to 9pm. You can practice extra classes after 10pm."

"There are etiquette classes and camera performance training every Wednesday and Friday. If you have just arrived, learn Korean well first. The company has assigned a teacher to you, and you will have exclusive Korean lessons every night during this period."

The schedule on the paper was densely packed, like an invisible net. Ouyang Guang remembered that when he was in Shenzhen, he should have just finished breakfast at this time and was strolling slowly in the classroom with Chen Zheng and others.

"Director Kim specifically instructed you to speak Korean at a communicative level within three months." Lee Jae-hoon lowered his voice, "A-level trainee standards."

"What about meals?" He pointed to the "canteen" column at the bottom of the form.

"The company cafeteria is on the underground first floor, you can use your meal card. You can also cook in the dormitory. Most people eat in the cafeteria, which saves time." Li Jae-hoon glanced at his watch, "It's almost nine o'clock."

Finally, Lee Jae-hoon took him to a sister in a pink T-shirt and said, "This is Kim Min-ji from the training department. She will be responsible for guiding you to familiarize yourself with the daily life of a trainee. I have something else to do, so I'll leave first. Call me anytime if you have any questions." After that, he hurried away.

Sister Jin Minzhi looked very gentle. She smiled and said to Ouyang Guang: "Don't be nervous. I was also a trainee. I will help you record your fingerprints, get your meal card and pass."

After receiving the items, Kim Min-ji's sister took Ouyang Guang to another room for a physical fitness assessment. A staff member measured Ouyang Guang's height ratio, hand and foot length, and weighed her.

"The life of a trainee is boring and hard, you have to be mentally prepared."

After finishing the assessment, Kim Min-ji said to Ouyang Guang as they walked away, "The daily training content is basically fixed."

"When you first come here, you need to adapt first. You must study Korean lessons well, otherwise you won't understand the lessons in the future." Sister Jin Minzhi patted his shoulder. "The company has high requirements for trainees. Lateness and early departure are absolutely not allowed. If you are found to be lazy during training, you will be criticized."

She paused and continued, "How are your vocal and dance foundations? The teacher may adjust the course according to your situation."

"I've learned a little vocal music, but no systematic dance. I just learned a little bit yesterday." Ouyang Guang answered calmly.
