Chapter 142 The Ratings Storm and the Surprise (2/2)

After filming their scenes for the day, the two continued recording "We Got Married".

This episode is particularly important because it marks their one-year anniversary since filming began, and according to the show's format, it's time for the "proposal" segment.

When the camera focused on them again, the atmosphere had naturally shifted from "siblings" in the drama back to "husband and wife".

"So, you've already received a blessing on set. How does it feel?" Sitting in the car arranged by the production team, Ou Yangguang turned his head and asked her, his tone much more intimate.

"I'm so happy! I never expected the crew to prepare a surprise, and I especially didn't expect it to be you bringing the cake." Kim Ji-won was still a little excited, her fingers unconsciously twisting the hem of her clothes. "I was really startled at the time."

“Well… the crew’s blessing is the crew’s,” Ou Yangguang deliberately drew out his words, a hint of mystery in his eyes, “As a husband, of course I have to prepare a unique birthday gift.”

"Really? What is it?" Kim Ji-won's curiosity was instantly piqued, and she unconsciously leaned towards him.

"It's a secret." Ou Yangguang mimicked her previous manner, keeping her in suspense, but couldn't help but smile. "You'll find out when we get there."

The car eventually stopped in front of a live music house that looked very sophisticated and mysterious. Guided by staff, they entered a private booth. Soft lighting, comfortable sofas, and fruit and champagne were already laid out on the table.

"Where is this...?" Kim Ji-won looked at Oh Sunny with a puzzled expression.

Just then, the stage lights in the private box came on. Ou Yangguang didn't answer, but walked straight onto the stage and sat down in front of the electronic keyboard that had been prepared beforehand.

He adjusted the microphone height, his gaze passing through the soft light and landing on Kim Ji-won, who was somewhat stunned, his eyes gentle and focused.

“Nuna, happy birthday,” he said softly, his fingers gently landing on the piano keys, and a smooth and soothing prelude flowed out.

It was a melody he composed himself, with a touch of R&B, gentle and affectionate. He began to sing in Chinese, his voice lower and softer than usual on stage, every note seemingly imbued with his heart.

"In the midst of busy days, I encountered your gentle figure."

In the fictional story, you are forever out of reach.

In real footage, I want to be the only one you rely on.

...

My girl, my baby

May you be blessed with happiness throughout your life.

I love you so much.

There are no fancy words, no complicated arrangements, only the most sincere feelings and blessings. He poured the details of their acquaintance and collaboration, as well as his wishes and feelings for her, into this song.

Kim Ji-won sat there in the audience, her eyes wide with disbelief and emotion, her eyes reddening and tears streaming down her face.

When the piece ended, Ou Yangguang stood up from the piano, walked to her, took out a dark blue square velvet box from his pocket, and gently opened it.

The lighting in the private room fell perfectly on the ring. The main diamond wasn't extravagant, but its cut was perfect, refracting a dazzling light under the illumination. The band was also delicately set with a ring of small diamonds, making it elegant and simple.

Kim Ji-won was completely stunned. Her hands trembled slightly as she looked at the ring in disbelief, then at Ou Yangguang.

"I know this is sudden." Ou Yangguang's voice remained gentle, yet carried an undeniable seriousness.

"Over the past year, whether on set, during recording, or in every moment of my life, you've made me feel genuine warmth and joy. You'll make me laugh when I'm unhappy, remember every little thing I casually mentioned, and give me strength when I'm most exhausted."

"Kim Ji-won, I hope that in the days to come, I can rightfully protect you, accompany you, and celebrate every one of your birthdays."

He held up the ring, knelt on one knee, his gaze firm and affectionate: "Are you willing to give me this chance? Are you willing to let us be the most authentic presence in each other's lives?"

Kim Ji-won's tears finally streamed down her face. She looked at Oh Sunny kneeling before her, at the undisguised love and expectation in his eyes, and at the diamond ring in his hand that symbolized eternity.

Time seemed to stand still at that moment.

Then, she slowly reached out her hand, her voice choked but clear: "I do."

A radiant smile instantly bloomed on Ou Yang's face. He carefully slipped the ring onto her finger, and it fit perfectly. With everyone present as witnesses, they embraced tightly.

The camera captured this historic and romantic moment.

The day's shoot ended in an exciting atmosphere. Back in the car, Kim Ji-won kept looking at the ring on her hand, as if to confirm that this wasn't a dream.

"Is this true?" she asked softly, her eyes still red from crying.

Ouyang took her hand, their fingers intertwined, the ring sparkling between them: "Although the show is fake, my feelings and this ring are real."

He leaned close to her ear and whispered, "I've already spoken to Chenghuan, he'll take us back to my apartment later, okay?"

Kim Ji-won leaned on his shoulder and nodded with a smile.

The night view of Seoul flashed past the window, while the diamond ring in her hand shone firmly in the night, foreshadowing a new beginning.
