The car pulled into the resort's parking lot. As soon as I got out, the crisp, sweet air instantly filled my lungs, carrying the scent of pine needles and snow powder.
In the distance, several pristine white ski slopes meandered down from the mountaintop, with cable cars moving slowly like strings of colorful candies. The filming crew had already set up their equipment, and the PD, seeing Ou Yangguang arrive, briefly explained the day's schedule.
Ou Yangguang searched for that familiar figure with his eyes.
"Ah Guang!"
A clear, cheerful voice came from behind him. Ou Yangguang turned around, his eyes lighting up.
Kim Ji-won wore a pink and white down jacket and a woolen hat with a fluffy white trim around the edge, which made her face look even more rosy and cute.
"Nuna!" Ou Yangguang smiled and walked over quickly, casually reaching out to tug at the small pom-pom on the top of her hat. "Have you been waiting long?"
"No, I just arrived recently and I dyed my hair again." Kim Ji-won looked at him with sparkling eyes.
"You too, like a little rabbit in the snow," Ou Yangguang teased, noticing her empty hands. "Where are your skis?"
"Ah, over there!" Kim Ji-won pointed to the side, where a crew member was holding two sets of skiing equipment. "However, I can't ski at all." She stuck out her tongue, showing a hint of frustration and dependence. "I'm relying entirely on Teacher Ouyang today."
"Don't worry, I've got it covered." Ou Yangguang patted his chest, his tone confident, his eyes gleaming with self-assurance and eagerness.
He skillfully put on his own skis first, then picked up Kim Ji-won's and gestured for her to sit on a nearby bench. "Let's start with putting on the gear. Ski boots need to be fastened tightly, but not so tight that it restricts blood flow, and the ankles need to be secured..." He knelt down in front of her, picked up a ski boot, and patiently explained.
Kim Ji-won looked at his lowered, focused eyelashes and his well-defined hands fiddling with the buckles, and her cheeks flushed slightly. He explained clearly and quickly, soon putting both her boots on and fastening them. "Stand up and try it on, how does it feel?"
Kim Ji-won awkwardly stood up, gripping the armrest of the chair. Her heavy boots made it feel like she was on stilts. "It's so heavy, and I can't walk anymore," she said, her face contorted with despair.
Ou Yangguang was amused by her and reached out his hand: "Come on, hold my hand. Let's walk on flat ground without the skis for now and get used to these boots."
Thus, the following scene unfolded on the flat area of the ski resort: a tall boy led a girl dressed like a marshmallow, and the two walked slowly with a strange, wobbly gait, like two penguins landing for the first time.
Kim Ji-won gripped Ou Yangguang's hand tightly, her body unconsciously leaning towards him. Ou Yangguang steadily supported her arm, reminding her from time to time, "Lift your feet a little higher, yes, like that..."
"It feels like a penguin." Kim Ji-won laughed first, her nervousness subsiding considerably.
After she got used to the shoes, Ou Yangguang helped her put on the skis. It took some effort just to get Kim Ji-won to maintain the basic posture of standing on the skis on flat ground.
