Chapter 151 I Won't Cry for You Anymore

The message was so long it gave Su Jin a headache. She cleared her throat and pressed the voice message button: "I didn't see the message. Sorry, just send me the address directly."

It would be too embarrassing to tell people that I just woke up now.

Upon hearing the message notification, Shen Yanxiu picked up his phone almost instantly. Seeing that it was a voice message, he hesitated.

After clicking, he heard Su Jin's slightly hoarse voice, which made his ears itch.

Su Jin's voice was different from her voice on the show; it was smooth and husky.

She must have just woken up.

After listening to the voice message, the space around him returned to silence. Shen Yanxiu couldn't stand the silence and couldn't breathe, as if he were all alone again.

So Shen Yanxiu listened to it again.

I played Su Jin's voice message over and over again.

He was so engrossed that he didn't realize he hadn't replied to her until he came to his senses.

He frantically typed, "I'm so sorry, I'll send you the address right away."

Su Jin glanced at the message while brushing her teeth, rinsed her mouth, and used one hand to reply: "Okay."

When the message arrived, Shen Yanxiu's eyes lit up for a moment, but dimmed again after seeing the words.

He opened the previous voice message again: "I didn't see the message, sorry..."

Through the static of his phone, he slowly savored this happiness that was uniquely his.

...

Lin Shi opened the door to Su Jin's house.

The first thing I did when I walked in was ask her, "Are you really divorced?"

Su Jin took out her notebook. "Of course, we're really divorced."

Lin Shi frowned and hissed, "I thought he was going to be entangled with you for the rest of his life. It's really a bit strange to see him like this all of a sudden."

Su Jin shook her head and casually tossed the red book aside.

"Hey, honestly, how do you feel?" Lin Shi asked.

This really stumped her.

Su Jin closed her eyes. "I wasn't that happy."

She propped her head up with her hand, thinking that she felt more regret than anything else.

But she couldn't quite put her finger on what exactly she regretted.

"It's also a bit of a relief."

Lin Shi asked curiously, "Does the feeling of relief refer to this relationship, or to Gu Xingze as a person?"

"Yes, we have both."

Lin Shi smiled without saying a word, "Will you still be in a relationship?"

Su Jin's answer remained the same as before, "Who can say for sure?"

But deep down she still denied this answer.

"Okay, that's enough, we'll be late."

As she went downstairs with Lin Shi, she saw a familiar car.

Su Jin initially couldn't believe it, but as she slowly approached and looked inside, she exclaimed in surprise, "Gu Xingze?"

Gu Xingze initially hid, wishing he could disappear underground, but he finally peeked out when he realized he couldn't hide it any longer.

"Um, I... I was just passing by."

Su Jin put her hands in her pockets, looked up, and let out a long "oh".

"You mean, you accidentally drove from the north to the new residential area south of where I live, accidentally told the security guard you wanted to come in, and accidentally drove right up to my building, right?"

These words made Gu Xingze blush with embarrassment.

This reason was far-fetched, but he couldn't think of any other excuse.

His face flushed red with suppressed rage, he finally defended himself, "I wasn't spying on you, nor was I following you. I just drove here without realizing it. It really wasn't intentional."

Su Jin calmly watched his sophistry.

Gu Xingze shrank into a small ball, trying to hide under her scrutinizing gaze.

"Don't worry, I'm not the same person I used to be. I won't bother you anymore. I know exactly what I'm doing, and I won't cry for you anymore. Don't worry about me bothering you. I'm doing very well now, really."

Su Jin tucked her chin into her collar.

He replied indifferently, "Hmm."

Gu Xingze was at a loss; he had messed up again.

He had finally managed to change her opinion of him, but now he's been found waiting for him downstairs at her house at noon.

She'll definitely think she was just pretending before, and she'll avoid me like the plague.

Gu Xingze apologized dryly, "I'm sorry, I had no sense of boundaries."

Su Jin sighed, "It's okay, just don't do it again next time."

Gu Xingze nodded quickly and whispered his promise, "I will, I'll try not to think about you..."

He hurriedly opened the back door and took out a package. "Here, it's getting cold. Take it."

Su Jin had no intention of accepting the offer.

"Forget it, it's very abnormal for you to keep sending things to your ex-wife."

Gu Xingze frowned. "We don't need outsiders to judge us."

Su Jin stretched out her hand, "Don't talk about 'us,' there's no 'us' anymore."

You are you, and I am me; we are clearly distinct from one another.

Gu Xingze swayed slightly, his already thin face looking even more haggard.

"Hmm...you can accept it, it's nothing valuable."

Before Su Jin could speak, he interrupted, "If you don't take it, it's useless. Just throw it away."

After saying that, he put down the bag, got into the car, and drove off.

Lin Shi watched him leave, then approached from a distance, relishing the moment, "Just like in the novel, but he's a bit more pathetic."

Su Jin bent down and picked up the poor bag. Inside was a neatly folded scarf, gray-black with a few checks, which didn't look cheap.

"Why not take advantage of it?"

He then handed the poem to Lin Shi.

Lin Shi: "Am I part of your play?"

They complained verbally, but their bodies betrayed them as they accepted the gift.

...

We arrived at the agreed-upon place.

Shen Yanxiu had booked a private room, and the staff led them upstairs.

"You've arrived!"

Ye Shuwei waved her arms, "Come and do it, we've been waiting for ages."

Shen Yanxiu smiled and said, "Are you hungry? Please sit down and I'll have the waiter bring the food."

Su Jin looked around. "Are these the only people?"

There were only four people present, and she thought the dinner party meant everyone together.

Shen Yanxiu paused, his hand holding the cup still. Had he invited the wrong person?

He specifically sent someone who was close to Su Jin; it seems I still don't understand her...

"Are we still missing anyone?"

Su Jin shook her head; with those people gone, she was actually quite free.

"Nobody else, I was just a little surprised to see only four people."

Shen Yanxiu clenched his hands on his knees, trying to hide his slight sadness.

He actually only wanted to invite Su Jin to dinner, but that would cause people to misunderstand her.

I invited everyone to dinner with her.
