Chapter 155 The Child Acknowledged Outside

Su Jin was a little stunned. She thought that, given her mother's personality, she would never apologize to her. She never expected that she would go to such lengths for her son.

Other police stations couldn't bear to watch any longer and went to pull her up, saying, "Stop slamming your head, get up quickly."

"Pfft."

Su Jin laughed out loud, successfully drawing everyone's attention to her.

A bright smile bloomed on her face. "Isn't that funny? I never said I'd forgive you just because you kowtowed and admitted your mistake, did I?"

Everyone present was shocked by what she said.

To outsiders, Gu's mother was a pitiful mother who was about to lose her son.

One of the police officers couldn't stand it anymore and said to Su Jin, "How can you say that? Her son has been kidnapped, which is already hard enough. How can you make fun of her like this? You have no humanity."

Su Jin put her hand on the policeman's shoulder and said, "I hope your daughter will also meet such a good mother-in-law, and I hope you can still say that then."

"besides."

Her gaze shifted downwards to Gu's mother, who was still kneeling on the ground. "Your son once knelt before me like you did."

To put it bluntly, her precious son was nothing more than a dog to Su Jin.

Gu's mother immediately stood up and lunged at him like a madwoman, yelling, "I'll kill you!"

Her forward sway was too long, and Su Jin easily dodged it, glancing at Gu's mother who had fallen to the ground.

"They really do look like dogs."

A policeman tried to stop her, but Su Jin looked at him and said, “Officer, you know that he and I are no longer husband and wife, and I have no obligation to save him. If you want to stop me with morality, you can see from what just happened that I have no morality.”

The policeman reluctantly withdrew his hand, saying, "But you can't just stand by and watch a life be lost."

Su Jin tilted her head playfully and pointed to her cheek, "Then I'll just close my eyes, okay?"

"..."

Su Jin snorted, put on her trench coat, and turned to leave.

As she walked to the entrance of the police station, several black Lincolns stopped in front of her.

Several men in black got out of the car and opened the middle door.

A man who looked to be in his fifties stepped out of the car, dressed smartly, and stared intently at Su Jin.

"You're my daughter-in-law?"

Su Jin can now confirm that he is indeed Gu Xingze's father.

"It's not anymore."

Mr. Gu glanced at her indifferently and stepped into the police station.

Gu's mother was being supported by the police, as if all her energy had been drained away.

"You don't resemble Mrs. Gu at all now."

When Gu's mother looked up, she saw that familiar face, looking at her with mockery and disdain.

She didn't know where she got the courage, but she went up and slapped him across the face.

Everyone was startled again.

Gu's mother's eyes were red and swollen. "You don't deserve to be a father."

Su Jin looked at the doorway blocked by a group of bodyguards. "Whether I'm qualified or not is another matter. Could you please move aside? I need to go out."

Gu's father tried to stop him, saying, "You can't leave."

Su Jin's rebellious streak kicked in, and she stuck one foot out of the police station entrance. "Hey? I'm just going out, what are you going to do about it? Do you dare to lay a hand on me in front of the police?"

"Alright, alright, enough talk!" Several police officers pulled them apart. "The most important thing now is to rescue the hostages!"

An older police officer said to Su Jin, "Call the kidnappers again; we need more information."

Su Jin sighed and agreed.

I called again.

The call was answered after two rings. "Is the money ready?"

Su Jin glanced at Mr. and Mrs. Gu. "Yes, everything is ready. You want cash, right?"

The kidnapper leader said, "Yes, you are only allowed to bring the money to the designated location."

Su Jin carefully chose her words, "Where is the transaction taking place?"

Kidnapper: "Didn't I tell you? The docks!"

Su Jin hesitated, "But... this city doesn't have a dock at all."

The kidnappers seemed stumped by the questioning, and the three of them huddled together and whispered among themselves.

"Is there no dock?"

"No? That's how it's portrayed on TV."

"You two idiots! Why didn't you just tell me the address?"

The eldest brother cleared his throat. "Okay, I'll send you the address. Listen carefully, only you are allowed to come, no one else is allowed."

Su Jin continued, "You kidnapped another person? Who is that person?"

The person on the other end spoke again, "Of course it's someone you know, Chen... how do you pronounce 'boss'?"

When he uttered the word 'sink', Su Jin felt a vague unease.

"Chen Yanxiu".

Su Jin closed her eyes, thinking about taking on a suicide advertisement, a one-shot shoot. Which advertiser would come to her?

"Why are you tying him up! Can you please let me go?"

Her attitude made the kidnappers even more certain of one thing.

Shen Yanxiu is definitely her lover!

"Hmph, getting impatient, aren't you? If you're impatient, then obediently hand over the money."

They hung up the phone.

The police found it strange: "They kidnapped hostages, but didn't contact their parents to demand ransom, but contacted you instead? Why?"

Su Jin chuckled dryly, "How would I know?"

Mr. Gu was holding a handkerchief to cover the side of his face that had been slapped by Mrs. Gu, and he gestured with his chin toward Su Jin.

"I have something to tell you."

Su Jin walked up to him. "What is it?"

"Go save him, and I can grant you one request: shares, money, status—what do you want?"

Su Jin exclaimed in surprise, "I thought you didn't care about your son at all."

Mr. Gu raised his aged eyes and said, "He is the only child I have ever acknowledged outside of our relationship."

Su Jin caught the key phrase: "Children acknowledged outside the home?"

Does that mean there are still children who haven't been recognized?

But then I thought, we're already divorced, so what does it have to do with me?

...

The kidnappers hung up the phone.

Gu Xingze woke up while they were on the phone, and, supporting his weak body, asked, "What exactly do you want?"

One of the kidnappers scratched his head. "Isn't it obvious enough? We're kidnapping you."

"How much?"

"60 million."

Gu Xingze frowned. "Am I only worth 60 million?"

Shen Yanxiu looked at him in shock, "Is this the time to talk about this?"

Even the kidnappers don't understand? They were just told to do it this way, and they were just following orders.

Gu Xingze leaned his head against the wall. "You want 60 million? I'll give it to you. Just don't let my wife come over."

He was secretly pleased that he could still use this nickname to address outsiders.

After saying that, he glanced at Shen Yanxiu and said, "Release him. Why did you tie him up? My wife won't come to save him. It's pointless for you to tie him up."

The three kidnappers looked on with anticipation, saying, "That's not necessarily true~"
