Su Jin was slightly tipsy, her face flushed, whether from drunkenness or from the hot water was unclear.
Upon hearing this, she chuckled softly, "Love you? Then you'll probably never live to see me redeem you."
The subtle sarcasm in her smile was unclear whether it was directed at the man before her or at herself.
Gu Xingze's fingertips tightened slightly, but he quickly resumed massaging her shoulders as if nothing had happened.
Su Jin stretched her arm out of the bathtub, water dripping onto the floor, and reached out to lift Gu Xingze's chin.
Perhaps emboldened by the alcohol, she spoke her mind, "If it weren't for your face, I would never have married you in the first place, even though you were my target... of my conquest."
As she spoke, her body slowly sank into the water filled with flower petals, and her last words bubbled and bubbled in the water.
"How about you don't drink anymore? You'll have a headache tomorrow." Gu Xingze coaxed her gently, taking the wine glass from her hand and selectively ignoring what she said.
Gu Xingze rolled up his sleeves, reached out and scooped her out of the bathtub, then pulled off a towel that had been prepared and wrapped it around her. "Is baby drunk? She's starting to talk nonsense."
Su Jin grabbed his ear and said, "Don't call me baby, it's disgusting. I'm not drunk."
Gu Xingze lowered his head and rubbed his cheek against her burning cheek. "Okay, okay, you're not drunk. I feel nauseous."
The moment he stood up while holding Su Jin, he felt a sharp pain in his right leg, almost causing him to fall to the ground.
I managed to stand up straight and gently place her on the bed before I could relax my tense nerves.
He trembled as he held onto his right leg, desperately trying to suppress the painful groans in his throat, afraid of waking the sleeping Su Jin.
Su Jin on the bed stirred, seemingly out of cold, and reached out to pull the blanket over half of her body.
Gu Xingze dragged his trembling, aching legs and struggled to climb into bed, then covered her with the blanket.
"good evening."
...
Su Jin slept exceptionally well, and when she woke up, she found herself completely naked.
"Holy crap."
She hurriedly grabbed a piece of clothing from beside the bed and put it on, shaking off her confused thoughts.
What did she do last night?
All I remember is Gu Xingze coming to give me a massage and asking if I wanted to buy him. I remember what I said?
It seems like they were asking him how much he earns per night?
"Oh no... I shouldn't have touched alcohol."
"Um……"
Gu Xingze, who was sleeping next to her, also woke up. "Wife, you're awake... Do you remember what you said last night?"
He smiled so hard his eyes narrowed, and Su Jin felt completely humiliated.
What did I say?
007 replied considerately, "Honey, you told him last night that he used to be the object of your affections."
Su Jin felt as if her mind had exploded.
"007, you were peeping last night?!"
007 immediately distanced himself, saying, "I didn't see anything. To protect the host's privacy, we only see white light."
Su Jin breathed a slight sigh of relief, but it was clearly too early to relax.
Gu Xingze, with his head resting on his arm, looked at himself innocently and asked, "Why isn't my wife saying anything?"
Su Jin's temples throbbed. "I... I've been reading too many novels lately, I got a little engrossed, and I'm just rambling on."
Seeing her frowning in discomfort, Gu Xingze got up and rubbed her head, his tone slightly reproachful and concerned, "I shouldn't have let you drink yesterday. Is your head hurting?"
Su Jin, quick-witted, followed up on his words, "Yes, I do feel a little unwell, dizzy and nauseous."
She was trying to use this to escape this calamity.
Upon hearing this, Gu Xingze immediately got out of bed, placed the trash can next to her, and hopped out the door without even taking his crutch.
"Honey, I'll go make you some hangover soup. If you feel unwell, throw up for a while, and I'll come back and wipe you down."
Su Jin lay in bed for a while, then, having slept enough, got up to do some stretching.
"Wow, I'm so professional," she said, praising herself as she did yoga poses on the mat.
After taking a sip of the hangover soup that Gu Xingze had made, I felt refreshed and invigorated.
Gu Xingze touched her forehead, "Are you still dizzy? Do you feel like throwing up?"
After enjoying his service, Su Jin complained, "I was fine to begin with, do you still want your leg?"
He sat next to her yoga mat, grinning foolishly. "My wife is still worried about me? It's nothing, I'm going to the hospital in a bit."
"Yes, if you're feeling unwell, go see the imperial physician. I don't know how to cure illnesses."
Ding-dong.
The doorbell rang.
Su Jin pressed Gu Xingze down, "I'll go open the door, you sit down."
The door opened, and Su Jin was confronted by a strange woman. "Who are you?"
The woman smiled and said, "Hello, sister-in-law. I am Yan Youhe. It's nice to meet you."
"Hello."
Su Jin stepped aside to let her in. The more she looked at her face, the more familiar it seemed, as if she had seen it somewhere before, but she couldn't quite place it.
"Wife, who is it...?"
Gu Xingze, leaning on his cane, came over. When he saw Yan Youhe's face, he threw down his cane with a bang and asked with a stern face, "Why are you here?"
Upon hearing this, Yan Youhe hid behind Su Jin, tears welling up in her eyes, "Sister-in-law, look at him."
Gu Xingze's eyes were practically spitting fire, but despite his disability, he ran over and pulled the two of them apart.
Su Jin asked curiously, "She's your sister? I feel like I've never seen her before, but it also feels like I've seen her somewhere before..."
Yan Youhe fiddled with her manicured nails, complaining aggrievedly, "When you two had your wedding, I was abroad and couldn't make it back to attend..."
But Su Jin barely appeared at that wedding, and she didn't even know how many people were there.
Su Jin murmured to herself, "Where have I seen you before..."
In her haste, she went to the kitchen and drank a couple of sips of soy sauce.
After drinking and becoming sober, she asked Gu Xingze, "Aren't we going to the hospital?"
"Isn't that salty, honey...?"
"Mind your own business," Su Jin said, gulping down three large glasses of water.
Yan Youhe, standing to the side, was laughing so hard that it reminded Su Jin of the chicken she had fed on the show, and she really missed it.
"Sister-in-law is so special, I like you so much, sister-in-law."
Yan Youhe pressed against Su Jin's arm, and Gu Xingze became alert. "Let her go, and don't touch her."
Before Yan Youhe could say anything, Su Jin said, "Try to control your jealousy. You're jealous of girls too. That's enough."
"That's right, that's right."
Gu Xingze was speechless, "No, wife."
A black car honked its horn at the gate; it must be Assistant Li coming to pick him up to go to the hospital.
Yan Youhe waved triumphantly, "Goodbye, sister-in-law, don't worry about me."
Gu Xingze was so angry that he couldn't utter a single word for a long time.
Seeing this, Su Jin escorted him to the car, saying, "Go quickly, don't delay your treatment."
As they reached the door, Gu Xingze tightly grasped her hand, his eyes filled with tears as he pleaded, "Wife, can you promise me you won't kiss her..."
What are you talking about? Who are you kissing?
"She had girlfriends before."
"ah?"
