Chapter 8 How can the stars in the sky be compared to grass?

Xie Yunhuai reacted quickly and stepped in front of Su Jin to prevent her from making another move.

Hearing Su's mother use such an unpleasant word to describe Su Jin, he couldn't help but frown and say, "Aunt Su, I am Xie Yunhuai, have you forgotten?"

His eyes were sinister; if the person in front of him wasn't Xiaojin's mother, he would have punched her.

Xie Yunhuai's gaze fell on Su Jin's swollen cheek, and he asked in a low voice, "Xiao Jin, does it hurt?"

Su Jin stared intently at the Su family members, then shook her head. At this moment, she exuded an aura that told strangers to stay away and acquaintances to get lost.

Su Xingran's attention fell on this man, and a hint of surprise flashed in her eyes.

Mr. Su recognized him as the sickly boy from three years ago. He glanced at the Maybach behind him and tugged at Mrs. Su, who was still yelling.

He scolded in a low voice, "What are you shouting for? Do you want everyone to laugh at our family?"

Su Jin sneered and exaggeratedly said, "Oh~ I thought Dad could turn invisible. After all that commotion, you didn't say a word. You're really amazing."

Su's father blushed at her words, "How dare you talk to your father like that!"

"What? Am I wrong? Do you even deserve to be a father?"

"And you."

Su Jin turned around and pointed at her mother, "You don't deserve to be a mother either. For years, you two have ignored me and now you try to use your parental status to pressure me when things go wrong? Bullshit!"

Upon hearing this, Su's mother tried to raise her hand again.

Xie Yunhuai wasn't about to let her get away with it. He pushed her arm, which she had thrown at him, aside.

Seeing this, Su's mother plopped down on the ground, slapping her thighs and wailing loudly.

"You've completely disgraced me! You fickle woman, I truly regret giving birth to you. You're siding with outsiders, letting them bully your mother!"

This is a residential community, and many residents have already stopped and are glancing over here, seemingly casually.

Lin Shi heard the noise and hurried downstairs, where she saw this scene.

"Um... Auntie and Uncle, would you like to come in and have a seat?"

...

Taking the opportunity, Su Xingran snuggled up to Xie Yunhuai and winked coquettishly, "I heard my sister call you brother, should I call you brother too?"

Su Xingran said familiarly, "Brother, I've hardly ever met you. My sister didn't even introduce me. But she's always been like this since she was little, not close to her family."

Xie Yunhuai no longer showed the gentleness he had shown Su Jin earlier, and gave her a disgusted look.

"Get out of here."

Su Xingran was frozen in place, her lips trembling as if she was about to cry.

Seeing this, Su's parents quickly came over to comfort him, but they were intimidated by Xie Yunhuai's cold gaze. The man's demeanor made it clear that they could not afford to offend him.

So, just like in the past few decades, they turned their attention to Su Jin again.

"Su Jin! How can you be such a good older sister? You don't even know how to protect your own younger sister. You're such an ingrate!"

Snap.

Slap! Slap!

The door closed, and Su Jin's slap landed on her mother's incessantly chattering mouth.

Everyone present was stunned. Lin Shi tugged at Xie Yunhuai's sleeve, signaling him to leave this place of trouble.

“Jinjin will handle it. I believe in her. We’ll only be holding her back here.”

Lin Shi thought to herself, "What if you see Su Jin's true colors? Of course, I have to get away from the battlefield first."

Su's mother covered her face in disbelief.

"How dare you hit me? I'm your mother!"

Su Jin retorted sharply, not to be outdone.

"My mom? When my mother-in-law bullied me, why didn't you say she was my mom? When I couldn't afford my tuition and had to beg and plead with everyone, why didn't you say she was my mom? I was raised by my maternal grandparents and you didn't show me a single word of concern. You dare call yourself my mom? Go to hell!"

Su Jin finished speaking in one breath without taking a breath, her eyes bloodshot as she stared intently at her mother.

Su Xingran was in tears. "Sister, how could you say that to me? I never thought of competing with you for Mom and Dad. They are your parents, and I have always been an outsider."

Su's parents surrounded her to comfort her. Looking at the happy family of three, Su Jin lowered her eyelashes.

Su Xingran is indeed not their biological child; she is her uncle's child. However, after her uncle and aunt had an accident, Su's parents adopted her.

But so what?

Now they are more like a family.

Even because Su Xingran caused a bit of trouble, in order to prevent her from feeling inferior in this family, they sent their own daughter to her maternal grandmother's house in the countryside.

堇 means grass.

How can grass compare to the stars in the sky?

"Hurry up and apologize to your sister! Can't you see Ranran is crying?"

Su's father frowned and pointed at Su Jin, as if she were not his daughter, but his mortal enemy.

He reached out to grab Su Jin's arm, but Su Jin kicked him in the knee, causing him to fall to the ground in pain.

"you!"

Standing next to Su Xingran, Su's mother said fiercely, "You are no match for Ranran at all. Raising you would be worse than raising a pig! If Ranran were to marry into the Gu family, she would definitely be more successful than you."

They actually did consider it.

When Gu Xingze proposed to Su Jin, his parents actually considered marrying Su Xingran to him.

A substitute bride, what a ridiculous idea they came up with!

Not daring to offend Gu Xingze, they could only instruct Su Jin to make this request.

"Ranran is prettier and more sensible than you. Only if she marries into the Gu family will they be satisfied. I really don't know what they see in you."

Su's mother looked at Su Jin with disdain, making no attempt to hide her intentions.

"Mom, don't talk about my sister like that. Maybe she has some special talent that makes Young Master Gu unable to resist her."

Su Xingran appeared to be speaking up for Su Jin, but her eyes were frivolous, and her words implied that Su Jin only kept Gu Xingze around because of what happened in bed.
