Su Jin kicked the henchman to his knees, yelling, "Go to hell! What kind of person are you trying to kidnap if you don't want to kill someone? Are you kidding me?"
Su Jin has completely gone mad, acting like a ruthless bandit.
The two henchmen knelt before her, trembling with fear, and begged for mercy with their hands clasped together, "Sister, we didn't really mean to kill anyone, we were wrong."
One of the henchmen cried and wailed as he checked his boss's breath, crying, "You can't die, boss!"
That bag of money was like a small cannonball; one impact sent the boss into a deep coma. Fortunately, he was still breathing and alive.
Su Jin snatched the guns from their hands and twirled them in her grip, not caring if they went off accidentally. "What use are guns to you if you can't even kill people?"
Another henchman honestly confessed, "These are all fake; where would we get real guns?"
"Oh, it's fake..." Su Jin muttered to herself, then kicked the henchman away. "You're trying to fool me with a fake?!"
"I'm sorry, sis, I'll definitely get the real thing next time!"
Su Jin kicked him again, "You still want to make it real?"
"...Then let's not do it for real. We'll never kidnap anyone again."
Su Jin withdrew her foot with satisfaction. "That's more like it."
She completely disregarded the fact that Gu Xingze and Shen Yanxiu were still tied up, and that they had to fend for themselves by untying each other.
Removing the tape from her mouth, Gu Xingze stepped forward and took Su Jin's hand. "Jin Jin, calm down. Getting angry is bad for your health."
Su Jin pointed at the two kidnappers, "If it weren't for them, I'd still be enjoying my vacation at home! What's your purpose?"
The two sober kidnappers silently pulled their leader behind them.
"We don't know either... we just did what that person told us to do."
They pulled out a slip of paper and gave it to Su Jin; it contained the prepared lines.
“Someone told us to do this, and that it would bring us many benefits once it was done.”
Su Jin raised an eyebrow. "After it's done? Is it done now?"
"We...we don't know either."
This is strange. It's clear that their goal isn't to plan a kidnapping, but to get Su Jin to participate in this grand show.
What is the ultimate goal?
When the police arrived, this absurd scene unfolded: all the kidnappers had been subdued, and the fate of one of them was unknown.
Compared to the three kidnappers, Su Jin was more like a criminal.
"Thanks for your hard work."
Su Jin readily accepted, "If you want to send me a banner, that's fine too."
Leaving behind a mess, she walked to her car and lit a cigarette.
Behind her, sirens wailed. Smoking in this environment felt especially good, and Su Jin would imagine herself as the mastermind behind it all.
"Don't smoke, it's bad for your health."
Su Jin turned her head and saw Gu Xingze.
He reached out to take the cigarette from her fingers, but she gently dodged him.
"What's it to you?"
These words are hurtful, but they really are no longer related.
He used to be able to openly take her cigarettes and fill the void with his own mouth.
He no longer has that position.
Gu Xingze slowly withdrew his hand, feeling a bit soreness in his eyes, and reached out to rub them.
"Could you take me home?"
Su Jin looked at the police car, "Why don't you let the police take you home..."
When she saw Gu Xingze's red eyes, she stopped talking. "Okay, then I'll take you back."
After finishing his conversation with the police, Shen Yanxiu jogged over to find her.
"Ah Jin, I'm sorry, I've caused you trouble again."
Su Jin shook her head generously, "It's okay, nobody wants this to happen."
Shen Yanxiu wanted to take another step forward, but Gu Xingze kept a close watch on him.
"Is it alright to keep our distance? Men and women should not touch each other."
Shen Yanxiu could only step back a few steps.
Su Jin frowned and slapped Gu Xingze, "You should stay away too."
He moved his feet reluctantly.
Only then did Shen Yanxiu notice the cigarette in Su Jin's hand. "A Jin, smoke less."
He searched his pockets for a long time but found nothing, then he remembered that he had just been kidnapped.
"Do you like sweets? I brought you some candy. Eat one if you feel like smoking."
Shen Yanxiu's eyes lit up, and Su Jin couldn't bring herself to refuse. "Okay, thank you for your trouble. Would you like to get in the car? I'll take you home."
Gu Xingze muttered resentfully, "Why do you listen to him so much..."
Su Jin glared at him. "If you don't want to sit, you can get off."
"I'll sit, I'll sit," Gu Xingze said with a forced smile as he got into the passenger seat.
Shen Yanxiu unexpectedly refused her, saying, "I live too far from your home, and it would be too tiring for me to travel back and forth."
"It's okay, driving isn't tiring."
Shen Yanxiu shook his head again, "I'll just take the police car back. I don't want you to get tired."
Once in the car, Gu Xingze suddenly remarked, "He's such a green tea b*tch."
Su Jin fastened her seatbelt. "Who did you say?"
"Who else could that old man be?"
It took Su Jin a while to realize that the 'old man' he was referring to was Shen Yanxiu.
She sighed helplessly, "You see everyone as a green tea bitch."
Gu Xingze took this as a compliment and smiled, "My tea-tasting skills are quite good."
"Are you taking this as a compliment? She's nothing like a green tea b*tch."
"What's not true about it? When you pretend not to want me to be tired, aren't you implying that I'm deliberately making you tired?"
Gu Xingze even exaggeratedly imitated the way Shen Yanxiu had spoken earlier.
Su Jin was completely confused. "He didn't mean that at all. He's just being a little thoughtful."
Gu Xingze: "See? He's succeeded."
Su Jin frowned. "Success what? I really don't understand your convoluted ways."
...
When they arrived at the old house, Gu Xingze moved out of the car and said, "Come on in and have a seat. This is your house too."
Su Jin thought about it and decided against it, saying, "I've already sold the house."
Gu Xingze manually turned off the engine for her. "It's getting late. Let's rest here and leave tomorrow."
Su Jin thought that she wouldn't get any food if she went back, so she might as well stay and have a full meal.
Upon entering the house, she was somewhat stunned; the furnishings were exactly the same as before.
Gu Xingze observed her expression and smiled, "I bought identical copies of everything you took and put them back. Some of them are models from many years ago, and you can't even buy them anymore. Aren't I amazing?"
Su Jin leaned back on the sofa. "Why are you wearing a hospital gown underneath? Did you really go to the hospital to have your brain checked?"
He paused in taking off his clothes. "No, just appendicitis."
Su Jin gave an "oh" and didn't ask any further questions.
In fact, Gu Xingze was thinking that if she asked one more question, he would tell her the truth and that he had a very serious illness and might not survive the operation.
Tell her that you miss her very much...
But she didn't, so he swallowed the words that had just come out.
Gu Xingze smiled again, "I'll cook for you."
