Chapter 19 A Failed Strategy

Not long after, Song Xiwei received a telepathic message from Xiao Zhuang: "Sister Wei, I've gotten rid of those people. What should we do next?"

Song Xiwei made a quick decision: "Let's leave this place first."

Ao Qian glanced at Yuan Qi not far away and said to Song Xiwei in a cold tone, "She has the mark of a disciple of the Dragon Bone Branch Altar on her body. If she wants to leave, unless you have a magic treasure as powerful as the hairpin on my head to cover her up, she will not be able to leave this island!"

"Young Master has reminded me!" Song Xiwei suddenly realized something, and she stared at Aoqian, thinking seriously.

Aoqian felt uncomfortable under the stare. "What are you trying to do now!"

"There is a solution that satisfies both parties. Why don't you disguise yourself as Miss Yuan Qi, and I will take you out through the main gate openly? After attracting the main force, Xiao Zhuang will cover Miss Yuan Qi's safe departure."

Song Xiwei had thought that Aoqian wouldn't be so easy to talk to, but to her surprise, after giving Yuan Qi a meaningful look, Aoqian readily agreed, "Alright."

With Aoqian's cooperation, the plan should have gone quite smoothly.

Aside from the fact that Song Xiwei frequently burst out laughing because Aoqian's fake belly made her look out of character when they were drawing attention to him, the two worked together very well.

Just when they had already left those people far behind, no one expected that Aoqian had been poisoned.

Just as they were about to reach the gate, Aoqian collapsed.

The main gate was heavily guarded, and there were also traps and mechanisms blocking its way.

"Song Xiwei! Just leave, don't worry about me. This is probably fate. Cough cough cough..." As soon as Aoqian opened his mouth, black blood flowed down the corner of his mouth.

Song Xiwei was extremely anxious about this unexpected turn of events, but she never had the thought of abandoning him and leaving.

Seeing that he was already very weak, yet still spouting nonsense, Song Xiwei rolled her eyes at him and said in a deep voice, "Shut up!"

Because Aoqian was unable to move easily after being poisoned, Song Xiwei took emergency measures to stop the poison from spreading, and then supported Aoqian as they ran back.

This is not the best time to leave through the main gate, and Xiao Zhuang's plans have changed, so it's unlikely that she can take Yuan Qi out of the cellar.

Without hesitation, Song Xiwei led Aoqian directly into the Dragon Bone Branch Master's pill room.

The most important reason for choosing that location was that she could cure the poison that Aoqian had been afflicted with, but the antidote had to be prepared fresh, and she needed this pharmacy.

Aoqian was already too weak to be conscious, and she settled him on a chair in the medicine room.

Song Xiwei began searching for the medicinal herbs she needed. During the preparation of the medicine, Aoqian briefly woke up.

Although she had temporarily suppressed the poison and prevented it from spreading, Aoqian had not yet fully recovered from the damage to his primordial spirit, and this time the poison was particularly fierce. It could be said that his seemingly young body was actually weak inside.

It was during the process of detoxifying Aoqian that Song Xiwei probed into Aoqian's spiritual consciousness and discovered that his body was almost completely exhausted.

Song Xiwei was so angry that she cursed, "You're not that old, but you're quite the actor!"

Aoqian was so weak that he didn't even have the strength to open his mouth, and his eyelids were drooping as if he couldn't hold on any longer.

Song Xiwei roughly pinched his chin and stuffed the crumpled pills into his mouth.

"Cough cough cough..." Without water to help him take the medicine, Aoqian coughed uncomfortably and almost vomited it up, but Song Xiwei covered his mouth with her hand and made him swallow it down.
