On their way to Sheng Kingdom, Song Xiwei, Aoqian, and Meng Shu rode together in a carriage.
Originally, Meng Shu was to be left in Fengbo Valley as a hostage, but Meng Shu was worried that his mother would be too tired from the journey and suggested that his mother stay in Fengbo Valley while he returned to Sheng Kingdom with Song Xiwei and Ao Qian.
Along the way, Meng Shu tried hard to get closer to the two of them, but his idea was wonderful, and he only realized how difficult it was every time he tried to strike up a conversation.
The two would inexplicably look at each other and then laugh for a long time, or stare at each other in silence, or argue over trivial matters for a long time, almost to the point of coming to blows.

After being ignored by Meng Shu several times when she tried to strike up a conversation, Song Xiwei tilted her head and asked Ao Qian in a low voice, "Does he miss his mother?"
"Whether he wants to or not is none of your business." Aoqian's tone was somewhat sharp.
Meng Shu, who was sitting in the corner of the carriage, had no intention of responding. Upon hearing Ao Qian's words, he froze, holding his breath and not daring to move.
Song Xiwei noticed Meng Shu tremble, so she glared at Ao Qian and warned, "Can you not talk so aggressively! Can't you see how fragile he is? You scared him!"
Song Xiwei was well aware that whenever Meng Shu tried to engage with her, Aoqian would give Meng Shu a warning look.
She thought Aoqian was too childish and ridiculous.
To keep things from getting too boring along the way, he would argue with Aoqian to make things a bit more lively.
However, every time she tried to get Meng Shu to join in the conversation, she was about to succeed several times, but Ao Qian ruined it.
These past few days, Meng Shu has become increasingly taciturn, hasn't been resting well, looks terrible, and has dark circles under his eyes.
Seeing Meng Shu growing thinner and more taciturn, as fragile as a broken porcelain vase, Song Xiwei was truly worried that if things continued like this, Meng Shu would perish on the way to Sheng Kingdom before the three of them even arrived.
Song Xiwei was genuinely indignant on Meng Shu's behalf, and she was also genuinely trying to warn Ao Qian not to go too far.
