Song Xiwei thought Aoqian wouldn't be back so soon, so she fetched hot water and took a bath in the room.
When Aoqian came in, Song Xiwei had just finished taking a bath. She had changed into a clean set of clothes, her hair was still dripping wet, and she was barefoot, looking at Aoqian with surprise.
Compared to Song Xiwei, Aoqian is indeed... quite different.
He was soaking wet, as if he had swum in the river, but thankfully his nose had stopped bleeding.
But he was soaked to the bone, and his feet had wet a large area of the floor.
Song Xiwei was truly shocked. "Young Master, what's wrong?"
"It's nothing," Aoqian said, not intending to say anything.
Song Xiwei was extremely curious, but she was also worried that Aoqian would catch a cold.
"Go and change your clothes," she urged.
Doesn't he have clothes in his personal storage space? Why doesn't he change?
Aoqian didn't react at all, but his gaze darted away from Song Xiwei's face, then moved down and stopped at her feet.
This was the first time Aoqian had seen Song Xiwei barefoot so clearly.
Upon closer inspection, there were still water droplets on her fair, jade-like feet. The skin on the instep was white and delicate, and her toes were small and exquisite, with even her toenails translucent and tinged with a light pink.
For some reason, Aoqian thought of his own feet. Compared to Song Xiwei, his feet were much larger, the insteps weren't as white and delicate, his toes weren't as small, and his toenails weren't as pink...
Am I really obsessed?
Otherwise, why would he be filled with praise even when looking at Song Xiwei's feet?
Seeing that he remained motionless, Song Xiwei was startled by Aoqian's reaction. "Young Master, what's wrong with you?"
She reached out her hand towards Aoqian, but just as she was about to touch him, Aoqian dodged it.
He was like a frightened bird, his whole body stiff. "I'm fine."
He lowered his head, not daring to look at her.
Song Xiwei's brows furrowed even more deeply. "Is Young Master going to break up with me?"
Aoqian lowered his head, trying to banish the strange thoughts that filled his mind, when he heard Song Xiwei's slightly disappointed words.
He looked up in astonishment, his face full of disbelief: "How could I possibly break up with you!"
"Then explain yourself! What's wrong with you today? First, you were drinking alone, then you suddenly had a nosebleed, and now you're like this. When I ask you, you say you're fine. Aren't we best friends? Didn't you say I'm the only important person to you? Then you shouldn't be hiding everything from me!"
Song Xiwei couldn't bring herself to get angry at Aoqian, who was soaking wet and looked very disheveled, but she was also feeling really stifled inside.
"I, I..." Aoqian was completely flustered, his voice trembling as he spoke. Could he tell the truth?
To be honest, it was because Song Xiwei talked incessantly about serious matters and didn't get as close to him as he had expected, or even ignored him, that he started to feel resentful towards himself.
She was just annoyed by her own strange personality.
It's all his own problem, but now it's affecting their normal communication.
And Song Xiwei is so worried about me.
Aoqian stammered and couldn't utter a complete sentence.
"I'll ask you one last time, are you alright or not?" Seeing that he couldn't say anything for a long time, Song Xi asked seriously.
"Let me help you put your shoes on." Aoqian lowered his head, his eyes fixed on her feet. "...The ground is cold."
Song Xiwei was speechless. They were talking about him now, but did he care whether he was barefoot or wearing shoes?
Seeing that Aoqian's gaze was fixed on her feet, Song Xiwei sighed helplessly, "Fine, I'll put on my shoes now. You have to tell me what happened. We have to get this straight today, no time to leave it overnight."
