Aoqian looked so wronged he seemed about to cry, his eyes were red, and he looked so fragile that he seemed like he could fall apart with a gust of wind.
Song Xiwei felt as if something had stabbed her heart, causing a sour, aching pain.
"Young Master, are you feeling unwell?" she asked in a softer tone.
We had been apart for several days and had just met again. Although Ao Qian was so cold and ruthless just now that he seemed to have no friends.
But the Aoqian before us is undeniably fragile.
Song Xiwei's heart softened completely. "Young Master, is the wind too strong? Did it blow on you? Look at you, why are you shielding me from the wind? I'm not that fragile..."
She had intended to comfort Aoqian, but unexpectedly, she said something wrong that offended him. He frowned and said angrily, "Of course you're not weak, it's me who's weak, it's me who's less skilled!"
Isn't it because they're less skilled?
Even though he knew Song Xiwei's gentleness towards him was only because she was worried about his health, he still couldn't help but succumb, fantasizing about her unique tenderness and wanting more...
On second thought, he was born superior to others. Aoqian was proud and unapproachable, and had never been associated with humility.
But who knew that he had become so humble?
It was because he couldn't let go of Song Xiwei, couldn't bear to part with her, and was attached to everything about her.
"Was the trip unsuccessful?" Song Xiwei had no idea that Aoqian's words about being less skilled meant something else entirely.
I thought Aoqian was doing something else.
Of course, Aoqian couldn't tell her the truth; he was just angry and didn't want to talk to her.
Song Xiwei gently comforted her, "I'll go with you next time, it'll definitely go smoothly."
Aoqian turned his back to her, trying to calm himself down.
For a moment, neither of them uttered a word.
Looking at Aoqian's thin figure, Song Xiwei felt that Aoqian had changed so much in just a few days. Even though he was right in front of her, she felt as if she was very far away from him.
After all, Aoqian's fragility was truly overwhelming for Song Xiwei.
She never believed that Kotoha's few words could destroy Aoqian's strength.
Aoqian is definitely not someone so fragile that anyone can easily defeat him.
So why is that?
Did I miss something?
Song Xiwei felt an invisible pressure in her heart, a bitter feeling that made her very uncomfortable.
For some reason, she felt that she was probably affected by Aoqian's vulnerability and his indescribable emotions. When she realized that something was sliding down her cheeks, she was startled.
When Aoqian heard her exclamation, he turned around and saw Song Xiwei with red eyes and tears on her face.
Aoqian: "..." Why is she crying?
He was so wronged, so upset, and so pent-up with pain, yet he didn't cry.
Why is she crying instead?
Was it because I turned my back to her that she thought I was neglecting her?
Aoqian's heart was pounding with anxiety.
He found that he couldn't bear to see Song Xiwei cry, even more than he could bear to see himself suffer.
Her single tear made him feel as if the walls he had built had completely collapsed.
I just want to bring back her bright smile, without any limits, and stop her from shedding another tear.
"I, I, I'll go with you to rescue those people who were captured by Miao Ruyi. Please, please don't cry, okay?" Aoqian was extremely flustered and reached out to wipe her tears, but his hands were shaking uncontrollably.
He hated himself for being so pathetic, for looking like a clown in front of her, for being so humiliating.
Song Xiwei didn't want to cry either; she felt she wasn't someone who shed tears easily.
Maybe it was blown by the wind?
She couldn't understand why she was inexplicably crying.
She couldn't understand it even more. Aoqian hadn't done anything; he had just told her to stop crying.
