Venerable Penglai suddenly arrived, bringing with him his little disciple Wanwan. Wanwan was about the same age as Song Xiwei, and had an innocent and carefree demeanor. This was probably the first time she had ever been to a world outside of Penglai.
At this moment, Venerable Penglai was catching up with Kongxi, and Song Xiwei was called by Kongxi to keep Wanwan company.
Wanwan and Song Xiwei are about the same age, so there is no distance between them.
The first thing she said to Song Xiwei was, "You are the most beautiful person I have ever seen!"
"You have the purest eyes I've ever seen!" Song Xi said to Wanwan with a smile.
What's even stranger is that Song Xiwei has a sense of déjà vu when she sees Wanwan, as if she's seen her somewhere before, but it's definitely their first meeting.
The two stood in front of the flower garden outside, where Song Xiwei explained the medicinal properties of the flowers and herbs to Wanwan.
When the Venerable Penglai, standing by the window, looked at Wanwan in front of the flower garden, his eyes were filled with tender affection.
Suddenly, someone spoke up, "Your Excellency's actions have broken the rules. She shouldn't have left Penglai."
Venerable Penglai's smile faded slightly, but his gaze did not leave Wanwan. Instead, he asked in return, "Rules must be followed, but I am confident that I can keep her under my control. As long as nothing unexpected happens, it won't be considered breaking the rules. But what about you? Are you sure that neither the person nor the situation will slip out of your control?"
His deep, empty eyes flickered. "Your situation is different from mine. What is this Wanwan? What kind of trouble will she bring? You shouldn't be careless. If you're not careful, the consequences could be unimaginable."
He paused, a chill flashing in his eyes. "We've known each other for countless years, and I've never seen you act like this for anyone before. You shouldn't have kept her alive. If you can't bring yourself to do it, I can take care of her for you to prevent future troubles."
"Kongxi! Mind your own business. I'll take care of my people myself. I don't need you to bother." Venerable Penglai coldly closed the window and looked at Kongxi. "That little girl beside you is much more interesting than you."
"She's just being silly," he said casually in the gap.
"Don't take chances with this gap. We're all old guys who've lived for millions of years. Let's not mock each other. I never thought I'd do this for anyone, but it happened. Some people and some feelings can't be controlled just because you think you can. The later the tribulation of love comes, the more intense the emotions it brings. I'll fall for Wanwan. It's fate, it's a curse, but it's also my luck."
Venerable Penglai revealed a look of deep infatuation, "No matter what her past life was, no matter how many obstacles there are between us, I only know that I will not let anyone hurt her, and I will not let her leave me."
There was no conversation during the gap; they were simply absorbed in the phrase "love tribulation" mentioned by Venerable Penglai.
