Chapter 50 Digging a Hole

Song Xiwei swallowed back the words that were on the tip of her tongue, and for some reason, she felt that what Aoqian said made perfect sense.

“What you say is absolutely right, I will listen to you.”

After hearing what Song Xiwei said, Aoqian hummed in response, and the room fell silent.

After an unknown amount of time, it was Aoqian who spoke this time: "Song Xiwei, what did you do in your sect before you left the mountain?"

Song Xiwei didn't expect Aoqian to ask this question suddenly, but she also couldn't sleep anyway. When Aoqian mentioned her sect, she was happy to share some interesting stories about her sect with him.

"If I were still in the sect, I would definitely be living the high life, having fun with my senior and junior sisters every day!" Song Xiwei said, her voice tinged with amusement.

Ao Qian said in a chilling tone, "Isn't it because I ruined your plans!"

Song Xiwei wanted to say yes, that's right.

But you can't say that to Aoqian's face. "How could I? I'm happy to help Young Master too!"

"Really?" Aoqian clearly didn't believe him, his tone still chilling. "How exactly are you happy? Tell me."

"Uh..." Song Xiwei felt like she had dug herself a hole. When Aoqian took the initiative to talk to her, she should have pretended to be asleep and ignored him. Otherwise, she wouldn't have been stumped by such a tricky question.

"If you can't say it, don't force yourself." Aoqian was clearly displeased.

"Young Master, I won't force you. I'm just not good at expressing myself..." Song Xiwei complained incessantly.

Aoqian snorted coldly and ignored her.

Song Xiwei was tense and didn't dare to even turn over.

After what seemed like an eternity, half-asleep, I couldn't hold it in any longer. I turned over and immediately felt much better, finally able to breathe a sigh of relief.

The two auras intertwined, and she was stunned for a moment, as was Aoqian beside her.

Both voices spoke at the same time: "Still not asleep?"

That's awkward.

Song Xiwei was puzzled. She couldn't sleep because she wasn't used to sleeping with others, but what about Aoqian?

If he's not used to sleeping alone, there's absolutely no need for him to force himself to do so.

She insisted on sleeping on the floor by herself, but he insisted that she sleep in the bed with him...

"Young Master, is there anything else you need?" Song Xiwei spoke very softly. Because the two of them were almost face to face, speaking like this was too intimate, and she felt very uncomfortable.

Aoqian probably felt uncomfortable too, so he stiffly moved over a bit, and the awkwardness between the two of them eased up a bit.

After a pause, Ao Qian asked, "Do you have a lover in your sect?"

Song Xiwei was completely stunned by the question.

Is Aoqian interested in this kind of thing too?

"Is it that Xiao Zhuang?" Aoqian asked again when she didn't answer.

Song Xi coughed slightly, "How could that be!"

Hearing her denial, Ao Qian asked indifferently, "What kind of person is he?"

Song Xiwei chuckled and said, "What kind of person? I haven't even thought about romantic relationships! For so many years, I've focused solely on cultivation; how could I possibly care about such things..."

“No, that’s best.” Ao Qian’s tone carried a lightness he himself was unaware of. As if realizing that he had answered a bit too hastily, Ao Qian changed his words: “What I mean is, if you don’t have a lover, you can help me without any distractions.”

Upon hearing this, Song Xiwei smiled and shook her head. "Young Master, you're overthinking it. I'm a very serious person when it comes to everything I do. Even if I do have a lover, if I promise you something, I will definitely keep my word!"

"That's different!" For some reason, Aoqian found it inexplicably jarring to hear her say that even if she really had a lover.
