Chapter 504 Restraint

This meal was the only time in two years that Song Xiwei ate by herself without Aoqian feeding her.

Aoqian did not force-feed her.

The two ate in silence.

After finishing the meal, they didn't say much.

As night fell, Song Xiwei lay down as usual, but the interaction between Aoqian and her was not as natural as usual. It was as if there was an entire Milky Way separating them.

Song Xiwei felt a little awkward because Aoqian trusted and was honest with her enough, while she was troubled by that dream...

She really wanted to forget everything in her dream and didn't want it to have anything to do with reality.

Thinking this way, she felt that a good night's sleep might make her feel better. If she were to sneak back to her room tonight, that would be truly suspicious.

Thinking this, Song Xiwei turned over to face Ao Qian, finally closing the distance between them considerably.

Aoqian was stiff and didn't dare to move at all. He was afraid of making a sound, and even more afraid of disturbing Song Xiwei and making her want to leave the room.

Before Song Xiwei lay down, Aoqian had been thinking that Song Xiwei was hesitant to go to bed because she was probably debating whether to go back to her room, which she hadn't been to in a long time.

Because she hadn't been back to her room for so long, Song Xiwei had actually moved many of her frequently used items to the main hall of Aoqian.

She even had far more things than Aoqian.

Don't ask why, the answer is that Aoqian loves buying her too many things.

In terms of food, clothing, and daily necessities, Aoqian is always in a great mood and enthusiastic at the drop of a hat.

On the contrary, he himself was very casual.

Song Xiwei didn't think she would fall asleep so quickly, but for some reason, she turned over and relaxed.

She quickly fell into a deep sleep.

Aoqian tossed and turned, unable to fall asleep.

As if afraid that if he closed his eyes, the person beside him would disappear, he restrained himself and dared not indulge himself in getting close to her as he had during the day.

He could only stare greedily at her sleeping face.

This gave Song Xiwei another bizarre dream.

In her dream, she didn't know where she was, but she always felt that a pair of eyes were watching her, as if she were prey. No matter where she hid, those invisible eyes could always hold onto her firmly.

Aoqian stared intently at Song Xiwei, but Song Xiwei seemed to be having another bad dream.

How do you frown?

He instinctively reached out to smooth her brow.

Song Xiwei's hand, however, preemptively and accurately grabbed his.

He clenched his thumb tightly.

Ao Qianxin's heart was in his throat; he dared not move or breathe.

Song Xi's slightly furrowed brows relaxed.

After grabbing Aoqian's thumb, I felt inexplicably much more at ease.

She unconsciously smacked her lips, then moved closer to Aoqian, hugging his thumb, and slept soundly.

Aoqian's whole body tensed up.

Song Xiwei suddenly threw herself into his arms, and as soon as his hand fell, he could pull her tightly into his embrace.

A voice inside me screamed: She came to me on her own, she threw herself into my arms! Hold her, hold her now!

Another voice warned her: You've already scared her, why scare her further? Calm down, there's plenty of time.

Ao, caught in a potentially agonizing tug-of-war, chose the latter.

He stayed awake all night and didn't dare close his eyes.

It's not that I'm not sleepy, but I'm afraid that if I fall asleep, I might make a mistake without realizing it and I won't be able to resist hugging her.

When Song Xiwei woke up, she realized what she was holding in her hand. When she let go, she saw Ao Qiansheng looking utterly hopeless, exhausted, and weak.

I'm completely baffled.

"Did Your Majesty not sleep well last night?"

Song Xiwei thought that what she had just grabbed seemed to be Ao Qian's hand. Could it be because her sleeping posture was bad and disturbed him?

"No, don't overthink it, it has nothing to do with you." Aoqian gave a reluctant explanation, afraid that Song Xiwei would overthink it and then want to move back to her own room.
