Aoqian's clothes were a bit thin, and now that it was raining and the temperature had dropped, white breath was coming out of his slightly open mouth.
Without saying a word, Song Xiwei took off her outer robe and draped it over Aoqian.
As she tied the ribbon for Aoqian, Aoqian looked down at her.
Song Xi lowered half her head, and when she finished tying the straps, she looked up and saw that Ao Qian's expression was a little strange.
"What's wrong?"
"It's nothing." Actually, Aoqian wanted to say that the scene of Song Xiwei draping the outer robe over him and tying the belt just now felt somewhat familiar to him.
My mother used to drape my father's clothes like this.
Just now, when Song Xiwei was tying his belt, she touched his neck.
Song Xiwei's hands were warm, much smaller and softer than his, and her hand bones must be very delicate.
His gaze followed Song Xiwei's hand down to her figure.
Song Xiwei always wore loose clothes, but Aoqian could still roughly see that she was thin and slender.
Her frame was much smaller than his, yet this seemingly fragile fellow possessed formidable strength.
If he hadn't witnessed her effortlessly navigating the Heavenly Cloud Ladder, he might have genuinely doubted her strength.
However, what truly made him willing to keep Song Xiwei by his side seemed to have little to do with her abilities.
Aoqian thought about it carefully and realized that although he and Song Xiwei had only known each other for a short time, they got along very naturally.
He himself was also surprised that he would allow a stranger he had only known for a short time to be so close to him.
"This rain isn't going to stop anytime soon," Song Xiwei said.
Aoqian didn't speak, but listened to the sound of rain and Song Xiwei whispering to each other. For some reason, he felt that the weather wasn't so bad.
Because Song Xiwei's voice was so pleasant, and when it blended with the pattering rain, he was even somewhat mesmerized.
"No, I'll borrow an umbrella from the shopkeeper!" Song Xiwei turned and went into the pharmacy.
After a while, she took out an umbrella and opened it.
"Young Master, let's go back to the inn first. You can't afford to catch a cold right now." Song Xiwei opened the umbrella and tilted it towards Aoqian's side.
Aoqian saw that half of her body was in the rain, and the umbrella was tilted towards him. He paused for a moment, then reached out and said, "Give me the umbrella."
Without much thought, Song Xiwei handed the umbrella to Aoqian.
After the umbrella was in Aoqian's hands, Song Xiwei realized that Aoqian's umbrella was tilted more towards her. She quickly reached out to hold the umbrella handle and said, "Young Master, as long as you don't get wet, I'm fine."
After she finished speaking, she released the umbrella handle and went out through the umbrella.
The raindrops were large, pattering wildly against her face.
Song Xiwei's eyes were almost closed when a strong hand reached out and pulled her into the umbrella.
The hand didn't let go of her, but instead pulled her even closer, almost touching Aoqian.
She couldn't help but say to Aoqian, "Young Master, I'm in good health, and I have cultivation to protect me, so I'm not afraid of catching a cold!"
"I know," Aoqian said calmly, but he didn't let go of her hand.
Song Xi was slightly taken aback. She seemed to want to say something, but then remained silent, letting Aoqian hold the umbrella and half-embrace her as they walked towards the inn.
When they returned to the inn, Aoqian asked the innkeeper for an extra quilt.
After Song Xiwei arrived at the room, she started to make a makeshift bed on the floor. Before she could lie down, Aoqian came over and lay down without any ceremony.
Song Xiwei was stunned. When she lived with Aoqian before, Aoqian slept on the bed while she slept on the floor.
Seeing Song Xiwei staring at him in disbelief, Aoqian said in a very calm tone, "You got caught in the rain, you sleep in the bed."
