Chapter 100: Breaking Through Defenses Again

Forced into a corner, Lu Huai and his son could only squeeze into a cramped low-rent apartment. Their resentment grew stronger day by day, and finally, Lu Huai couldn't bear it any longer and went directly to the Xie residence.

"Xiao Lu, what happened to you... Oh, I forgot you were in a car accident and broke your leg," Xie Junyang said, feigning sudden realization, then turned to the person beside him, "Uncle Wang,"

"What's wrong with you? Didn't I specifically tell you to send a high-end wheelchair to Xiao Lu? Have you forgotten?"

Butler Wang nodded in reply, "I haven't forgotten. I arranged for someone to deliver it the next day, and I even called Chairman Lu to confirm this."

That old geezer!

Lu Huai cursed inwardly, his face ashen. He increasingly felt that the car accident was inextricably linked to Xie Junyang, that old fox.

After all, he had already dealt with the Lu family several times before because he was unhappy with his close relationship with Xie Huanyu.

"My car accident wasn't an accident, Uncle Xie. I know you've always held a grudge against me, so did you intentionally cause this accident to teach me a lesson?"

It wasn't an accident?!

Xie Junyang was slightly taken aback, then belatedly realized that the other party had come here today to confront him, and his eyes instantly became filled with deep wariness.

"Lu Huai, you think too highly of yourself. A scumbag like you isn't worth me going to such lengths to plan this!"

"Heaven is watching what people do. You deserve this ending!"

This man's greatest self-awareness was probably knowing that he wouldn't let him off easily. If it weren't for this unexpected car accident, he would have dealt with Lu Huai in the same way.

With veins bulging on his forehead, Lu Huai stared intently at Xie Junyang, but still couldn't find any flaws. He unconsciously gripped the armrests of his wheelchair tightly.

I didn't see any flaws when I confronted Xu Yanshu before. I don't know if I'm suspecting the wrong thing or if these two are just too good at acting!

Lu Huai narrowed his eyes slightly and continued to ask coldly, "Is it really none of your business? Then why did you stop me from calling the police?"

“I’m absolutely certain the car accident wasn’t an accident. Besides you and Xu Yanshu, no one else would go to such lengths to target me like this!”

"You can eat whatever you want, but you can't say whatever you want!" Xie Junyang was furious, raising his eyes to give the man a dark look. "I'm not letting you call the police for your own good, after all, many of the things you've done are not suitable for the authorities to know!"

These words also enlightened him. Xu Yanshu had long known that Lu Huai was involved in the old woman's death, but he hadn't taken any action yet...

Could the car accident really have been his doing?

Lu Huai suddenly came to his senses and remembered that Xie Junyang still had something on him.

My life is already so difficult right now. If I were to provoke this old fox, I don't know what kind of fate awaited me.

Only now did Lu Huai belatedly realize that he shouldn't have come all this way.

"You're right. I was indeed presumptuous today. Please be magnanimous and don't hold it against me!" After weighing the options, Lu Huai chose to back down, clenching his fists in humiliation.

hehe!

Xie Junyang scoffed disdainfully, his gaze toward Lu Huai growing increasingly contemptuous. He had thought Lu Huai was so principled, but it turned out he was just another cowardly good-for-nothing!

"I can let it slide, but you absolutely must remember to pay back the money you owe Huanyu as soon as possible. That girl is petty and might hold a grudge against you!"

Forced to swallow this threat, Lu Huai nodded stiffly.

"I understand, I'll do it as soon as possible."

Xie Junyang raised his hand and called over a servant, then instructed him, "Arrange for someone to take Xiao Lu home. Make sure he gets home safely, since Xiao Lu has difficulty walking right now!"

Lu Huai forced a smile, his anger growing, but he dared not say anything, letting the servants push his wheelchair out.

"Uncle Wang, didn't you already sense that something was wrong with this?!"

“I…yes, sir,” Butler Wang stepped forward and replied tremblingly, “I didn’t think it was a big deal at the time, so I didn’t mention it to you.”

At the time, he felt that the matter was not a simple accident, and he did not associate it with Xu Yanshu. Otherwise, he would not have dared to conceal it without authorization.

Xie Junyang gave a noncommittal snort, "Hmph! Old Wang, you're really getting better and better at handling things. Now you even dare to make decisions for me!"

Lu Huai had just been pushed out of the Xie residence by the servants when he ran into Xie Huanyu.

"What are you doing here?" Xie Huanyu looked the man in the wheelchair up and down and questioned him in an unfriendly tone.

Lu Huai hadn't expected things to be so coincidental, and replied with a dry laugh, "I just came to visit my uncle!"

A visit? Xie Huanyu gave a noncommittal sneer. This person still thinks he can fool her like a fool!

Xie Huanyu looked down at Lu Huai with disdain and said, "Now that you're crippled, you shouldn't be running around outside."

"It's embarrassing and causes trouble for others, and the Xie residence isn't a place you can just come to whenever you want!"

Lu Huai's face turned pale and then red with anger at these words. Seeing the woman about to turn and leave, Lu Huai couldn't hold back any longer and said sarcastically,

"I may not be a good person, but what kind of good person are you, Xie Huanyu?"

Since the incident, he has endured countless taunts and disdain, and Xie Huanyu has relentlessly pursued him, gradually pushing him to the brink of despair.

Xie Huanyu was momentarily stunned, turning to look at Lu Huai with a blank expression.

"What did you say?"

The emotions that had been building up inside him finally erupted. Lu Huai nodded without hesitation, his expression twisted with clenched teeth. "Yes, that's right, I did lie to you many times."

"But if you hadn't been so eager to throw yourself at me, I probably wouldn't even have had a chance!"

"No wonder Xu Yanshu is so determined to divorce you. A woman as promiscuous as you, I doubt many men would want you!"

On one hand, she says she cares about him the most, but on the other hand, she drags her feet and refuses to divorce Xu Yanshu. In his eyes, this kind of woman is really hypocritical.

Paying out of pocket?

Xie Huanyu's face suddenly turned completely gloomy, and her hand clenched tightly at her side, her long, beautiful nails digging into her palm without her realizing it.

This is truly a case of biting the hand that feeds you; all your efforts for him have turned into a worthless act of giving away money.

The vehicle that had been arranged to take her out of the underground parking garage finally drove out. After getting out of the car, the driver asked Xie Huanyu...

"Miss, is this the place you're taking this gentleman?"

"No need, let him walk back on his own!"

Xie Huanyu deliberately emphasized the word "leave," and just as she finished speaking, a light drizzle began to fall from the sky...
