Chapter 144 Other People's Children
In the evening, after telling Linlin to go to her uncle's house to play with Zhong Xu, Zhong Hui drove Yang Fangqin to the No. 1 Primary School in the city for a parent-teacher meeting.
On the way, Yang Fangqin was still worried: "I don't know if I can avoid being called on at this parents' meeting."
Yang Fangqin was really scared. Every time she attended a parent-teacher meeting for Zhong Xu, it was never an easy one.
Zhong Hui smiled and said, "Zhong Xu has tried very hard. Relax, he will definitely not be criticized this time."
Yang Fangqin took a deep breath and hoped.
"By the way, Siqi is in the same class as Zhongxu. Do you want to take over Yanqing?"
Zhong Hui shook her head: "No, she has someone to take her there."
In the afternoon, Zhong Hui asked He Yanqing if she wanted her to pick her up, but He Yanqing shyly refused, saying that her boyfriend would pick her up.
Although the car was bought by He Yanqing, she also enjoyed it. Zhong Hui felt that it was worth spending the money.
"Oh." After hearing that He Yanqing had someone to send her off, Yang Fangqin stopped asking questions. She was really so busy attending the parent-teacher meeting that she couldn't think of anything else.
In the third grade West class of the No. 1 Primary School in the city, Zhong Hui sat in Linlin's seat, watching parents come in one after another, which was quite interesting.
Linlin sat against the wall, where hand-written newspapers, paintings, and essays were posted.
Zhong Hui saw Linlin's hand-made newspaper at a glance. The drawing was quite nice and Linlin's handwriting was very neat. Zhong Hui's own handwriting was not as beautiful as this.
"That's great! This child named Zhong Linlin is really outstanding." A parent came over to look at the handwritten newspaper. "I don't know how other people's children are raised. I heard from my daughter that this child even ranked first in the class in this month's exam."
Zhong Hui involuntarily straightened her head and back, and said modestly: "It's just that the child is self-conscious, so I don't really control him."
"She's so successful even without much supervision." The parent was extremely envious. "Oh, you are Zhong Linlin's mother. Nice to meet you. My daughter is Xu Li, and she sits at the same table with your daughter Linlin."
Xu Li's mother chatted with Zhong Hui enthusiastically and actively asked Zhong Hui about how to educate children.
Zhong Hui didn't really take care of her own children; she just let them go.
After chatting for a while, the parent-teacher meeting began. The teacher first announced the results of the monthly exam, praised several outstanding children, and briefly mentioned the poor students. However, the parents whose children did not perform well still looked unhappy.
As soon as the parent-teacher meeting was over, Zhong Hui was surrounded by several parents who wanted to share their experiences. Although Zhong Hui thought she had little experience, she still picked up some of Linlin's usual habits and talked about them.
"It's mainly up to the children themselves to be aware of it."
"Yeah, the problem is, he's not self-disciplined. I have to watch him while he's doing his homework. If I don't see him, he'll just go play something else."
"It's always like this. I can play with a pen for half a day."
"There's also a pen from mine. I can even see the flowers on my fingers."
Listening to their conversations, Zhong Hui felt very fortunate that her good daughter had saved her a lot of trouble.
After the meeting, Xu Li's mother walked next to Zhong Hui and somehow suddenly talked about her child's interest class.
"Linlin's mom, has your Linlin signed up for any interest classes?"
Zhong Hui shook her head: "He didn't sign up this semester, but I signed him up for a dance class last semester for the summer."
"I see. Your daughter Linlin has good grades, but my daughter Xuli's grades aren't so good. I wanted to have a special skill so that I can get extra points in the future."
Zhong Hui only then realized that special skills can add points, and asked Xu Li's mother about what interest classes are available.
Xu Li's mother listed them all: "Like painting, dancing, piano..."
Zhong Hui nodded, thinking about going back to ask Linlin if she liked it, and then enroll her in a weekend interest class.
We didn’t have the conditions in the village before, but now we live in the city, and our children can’t fall behind others.
