Chapter 249: Standing Up Straight
The new year is coming soon. At the end of the year, Zhong Hui’s small supermarket is the busiest and, of course, the most profitable.
The arrangements were made early this year, and the supermarket was centrally managed and distributed. Several employees went back, and some who were reluctant to give up their double wages did not go back. Xiao Nie recruited twelve college students from the job market. With more manpower, the supermarket was actually much more efficient than in previous years.
The supermarket runs in an orderly manner. Zhong Hui just patrols the store every day to check the total sales. She has quite a lot of free time.
Today, Zhong Hui inspected the stores as usual. After a round of inspection, she finally went to Xinhe Community.
Aunt Meihua's sausages are amazing, so Zhong Hui asked her to help make some. Yesterday, Aunt Meihua called to say that the sausages were ready for drying, so Zhong Hui went to pick them up today.
"Auntie, you don't want to run the store anymore?" Seeing Aunt Meihua taking her to her home first, Zhong Hui couldn't help asking.
"I don't have to stay in the store. The store has hired two new employees, and your uncle Xiuye is looking after it. I am much freer now." Aunt Meihua laughed. She finally realized the joy of being a boss's wife.
After going up to the sixth floor, Aunt Meihua went to the balcony and took the sausages down. "They've been drying in the sun for seven or eight days. I think they're almost done. Take them back and don't dry them in the sun. Wrap them up and put them in the refrigerator, otherwise they'll go bad easily."
"Okay." Zhong Hui picked up one and smelled it. "It smells really good. Auntie's sausages are still the best."
Aunt Meihua smiled from ear to ear: "I'll make it for you next year."
"Thank you, auntie."
Aunt Meihua put the sausages into a plastic bag, and Zhong Hui picked it up and went out with her.
"When will Tingwen and his sister come back?"
"They said they would go on New Year's Eve. Forget it. The brother and sister are both busy with their own things, and neither of them wants to find a partner. It's no use for me to urge them. Tell me, raising a child is worse than raising a dog. Really, the last time I saw your cute dog, it was so adorable. I'll buy a dog tomorrow. Dogs are more obedient than them." Aunt Meihua was helpless.
Zhong Hui smiled. She saw Tingwen going on a blind date last time, but it probably didn’t work out.
"It's okay, this marriage is all fate, it proves that fate has not yet arrived."
Aunt Meihua waved her hand: "Don't mention them. It gives me a headache if I mention them."
Zhong Hui suppressed her laughter and followed him downstairs.
As soon as I got downstairs, I heard a noisy sound. Aunt Meihua pointed to the first floor and said, "It's still the Li family. There's always trouble in their family. It's all the fault of that old couple."
"Dad, Mom, I'm pregnant with your Li family's grandson. We're both grandchildren, so you can't favor one over the other. Why did you buy a big house for my eldest brother's family and a nice car for my third brother's family, but my family has nothing? This isn't fair."
The eldest sister-in-law of the Li family was unhappy: "Why don't you have it? That shop is not yours."
Speaking of the eldest sister-in-law of the Li family, she gets angry. The shop was promised to her family, but it was taken away by this woman Wang Hehua.
"Bah! That's my Li Chengsheng's shop. How can you say it's given to us?"
"Wang Hehua, you should be content with what you have." Father Li knocked heavily on the table.
"Dad, it was you who said that I had no son, and that even if you gave me more, there would be no one to inherit it. It would be better to give it to my nephews so that they would be filial to me in the future. But I have a son now. Dad, aren't you chilling my feelings by doing this?" Li Chengsheng's eyes were red as he looked at Li's father and mother.
Li Laoer, who usually just squatted on the ground with his head in his hands, spoke, which surprised everyone in the Li family.
"How do you know it's a son?" Li's mother frowned.
Wang Hehua puffed out her belly and said, "I went to the hospital."
"That only counts after the baby is born." Mother Li snorted.
Li Chengsheng stiffened his neck and said, "Since it's a son, you'll buy a house for him?"
Father Li's eyes widened: "Second brother, what is your attitude now?"
Li Chengsheng didn't know whether he was going to have a son, or if he was just feeling a bit daunted, but now he had a tough attitude: "Dad, Mom, we're both sons, you can't favor one over the other."
Father Li was so angry that he laughed: "If you really give birth to a son, I will buy it for you!"
Li Lao Da and Li Lao San looked at Li Chengsheng with dissatisfaction. They didn't expect that the second brother, who usually kept silent, would come to share money with them today.
