Chapter 39 The Busy Landlady
Zhong Hui was eating alone at noon, and she was too lazy to bother with anything else. She took out the leftover rice from last night from the refrigerator and made herself some fried rice with egg.
After dinner, Zhong Hui sat on a lounge chair and admired her flowers. The weather was good today and not too hot. She felt a little sleepy in the sun.
Zhong Hui lay on the recliner, swaying back and forth, squinting her eyes at the two pots of flowers. The only drawback was that the flowers had not bloomed yet.
After lying down for a while, Zhong Hui took out a bottle of juice from the refrigerator, poured it into a cup, and placed it next to the recliner so that she could take a sip whenever she wanted.
Well, this feeling is really good. How should I put it? It’s just like the novels I read when I was in my teens. How did that sentence go? Oh, I can steal a little time to relax from my busy life.
I didn’t understand it then, but I do now. It’s so comfortable to live these days without having to worry about money, basking in the sun and taking it slow.
Zhong Hui took another sip of the juice. The orange juice was really delicious. This was what Linlin asked to buy. Zhong Hui decided to buy a few more bottles when she went to the supermarket.
Zhong Hui was about to fall asleep with her eyes squinted. Suddenly, the cell phone in the living room rang. Zhong Hui sighed and stood up to answer it.
"Hello, do you have a house for rent?"
"Yes, that's right, it's in Xinhe Community..."
"Sure, you can come and see the house anytime."
…
My goodness, this afternoon, Zhong Hui received more than ten or twenty calls, all of which were about renting a house. Her leisure time was completely over.
A few more people came to look at the house. Zhong Hui took the key and took them to look at each floor. Fortunately, all the people who came to look at the house were quite satisfied with it.
The location is good, the environment is great, it is indeed much better than the houses in the village, and the price is not much more expensive, so most of the people who come to see the house make a reservation directly.
Some people rented the apartments individually, while others shared them. In just one afternoon, Zhong Hui rented out four apartments.
Finally, everything was done. Zhong Hui stretched herself and thought, being a landlady is not an easy job.
Just as she was about to go upstairs, she saw Xiao Liao running over hurriedly: "Sister Zhong, Sister Zhong."
"I have five friends here, and they all want to rent a two-bedroom apartment." Xiao Liao brought people over and winked at Zhong Hui.
Zhong Hui understood, nodded, and said businesslike, "Which floor do you want to see?"
"Anything is fine, anything is fine." The five men were still wearing their work clothes from the electronics factory, and it was obvious that they were brought here right after work.
"Okay, wait a minute, I'll go upstairs to get the key." Zhong Hui went upstairs again. She had gone upstairs to get the key more than ten times today.
After getting the keys, the group went straight upstairs to see the house.
"This house is great. My wife is coming over soon, and my son and daughter will come over during the winter break. It'll be just enough room for us to live in." An older tenant said with satisfaction.
"Yes, this is a residential complex. There are security guards at the gate. It's safer than the village. Okay, I'll rent this one."
Soon, all five of them settled down and rented a two-bedroom apartment.
Most of the houses rented today are two-bedroom apartments. It seems that small apartments are easier to rent out.
Zhong Hui had already printed out the contract. Coincidentally, several people also brought their ID cards and signed the contract on the spot. Zhong Hui was also straightforward and gave them the keys directly.
"The curtains in this house will be installed in the next few days. If you are not in the room by then, I will open the door myself." As the landlord, Zhong Hui still has a key in her hand.
"Okay, okay, landlord, just open the door yourself." These people who work outside are used to renting houses.
When they heard that curtains were also needed, they immediately became more satisfied with the house.
After seeing off a few people, Zhong Hui went back home first. Not long after, as expected, Xiao Liao came over again.
"Sister Zhong, I'm here to sign the rental contract." Xiao Liao chuckled.
"I know. I've prepared everything for you." Zhong Hui took out a contract with a smile and fulfilled her promise by waiving one month's rent for him and only asking him to pay a deposit.
"Hehe, thank you Sister Zhong." Xiao Nie was very happy.
Zhong Hui waved her hand. This was her own suggestion. Although she was worried that she had too many houses and could not rent them out for the time being, she never expected that the houses would be quite easy to rent.
However, Zhong Hui did not regret it, as it was not a matter of money.
"Then Sister Zhong, if I introduce someone else, can the rent be waived again?" Xiao Liao scratched his head embarrassedly.
"Okay, of course. As long as you rent out five apartments, I will waive your rent." Zhong Hui said with a smile.
"Hey, thank you, Sister Zhong." Xiao Liao jumped downstairs.
Zhong Hui smiled and shook her head. He was also a young man.
In fact, Zhong Hui is not yet 30 years old, but her mentality is really incomparable to those young people.
"What are you doing at the door?" Yang Fangqin and the others came back and saw Zhong Hui standing at the door in a daze.
"Ah, nothing." Zhong Hui finally came to her senses. "You're back."
"I'm back, I'm back, and I brought the two children back with me." Yang Fangqin said.
"Where are they?" Zhong Hui stuck her head out, but didn't see Zhong Linlin and Zhong Xu. Even her elder brother didn't see them.
"There's a guy pushing a cart selling fried dough twists at the entrance of the complex. Linlin and Zhongxu are pestering your brother to buy some." Yang Fangqin said with a smile, "I bought a lot of vegetables. Let's eat here tonight."
"Okay, then I'll come over." Zhong Hui didn't even need to change her shoes. She closed the door, took the key, and followed Yang Fangqin to their house.
It is so convenient to live next door. Now the two families take turns eating there.
"How about it? Do you have a car you like?" Zhong Hui took out the vegetables bought by Yang Fangqin and prepared to pick them.
"I've looked at several stores and car models. Your brother wants to buy a Mercedes-Benz, which costs over 600,000 yuan. I don't think it's necessary. Your brother has to go to the construction site frequently. Besides, it will cost several million yuan to acquire the land, and half of the demolition compensation will be gone.
I wanted him to buy the Santana, the price was right, but he seemed a little reluctant. "Well, I'll talk to him about it later when I get back." Yang Fangqin said as she took out the loofah and peeled it.
"More than 600,000 yuan, that's quite expensive." Zhong Hui sighed. If it weren't for the demolition, she wouldn't have known that a car would be so expensive. It was enough to buy several houses. If it were her, she wouldn't be willing to spend it.
